👉Now let's discuss what you should expect after your marriage green card interview.
First, the immigration officer may tell you that you have been approved and that you should expect your green card in the mail within 90 days.✔️
Also, the immigration officer may state that s/he needs more time to review your file or that s/he will follow up with a decision soon. This does not necessarily mean that your case is denied, it may simply be that the officer needs more time to review your file.
However, in some cases, the officer will issue a 2nd interview notice also known as a Stoakes interview. If you receive a 2nd interview notice, then this does mean that the officer suspects there is marriage fraud😱, misrepresentation, or another legal issue.
Hopefully, this is not the case for you and that you have answered all questions honestly and truthfully.💯
Generally, if approved, the green card is sent within a few weeks up to 90 days.
If you were married for less than 2 years when your green card is approved, then you will receive a conditional green card also known as “conditional” permanent resident status. This means that the green card is good for only 2 years.
The purpose of a conditional green card is to help USCIS uncover marriage fraud cases, where couples get married - and divorce shortly afterward - for the sole purpose of obtaining a green card.
The 2 year conditional green card must be renewed up to 90 days before it expires. You must renew your conditional green card using the I-751 Petition.
To file an I-751 Petition, you must provide proof of your marriage over the past two years since getting your green card including: lease, joint bank statements, health insurance, car insurance, utilities, etc.
However, if you were married for over 2 years when the green card is approved, then you will receive a 10 year green card.
After 3 years of having a green card, you can apply for citizenship.

      Hi Henok,
Thanks for your question. Generally, there are two ways to immigrate to the 🇺🇸: (1) through family or (2) employment. See my videos on most common visa options for entrepreneurs and how to start a business in the USA for foreigners. If any of those options interest you after watching the videos, then book a call with me to discuss your options subhanlaw.com/book-call-page

It has been over 4 months since my marriage based greencard interview but I still haven't received any updates or final decision. Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

If you used an attorney to file your case, I'd recommend reaching out to your attorney to get his or her feedback. In addition, you can contact USCIS customer service and schedule an Infopass appointment with your local USCIS service center to get an update. Hope this helps you.
