  • With a sales consistency of over 400,000 units annually, there is no denying just how important the Camry is to Toyota. With its strong combination of practicality and a reputation for reliability, its not hard to see why Camry buyers are some of the most loyal in the industry. Just remember that a new model is right around the corner and some rivals are simply more engaging to drive.

      OMG .. what do you mean can't afford.. its only 30K??? Just stating that Toyota can do better and should be doing better. There are more ground breaking cars out there. ( as stated in the video). Toyota should step up there game. As consumers we should expect a lot when paying 30K or 50 K or 80 K for a car. By calling us haters .. just means you will except Toyota for bring out a product that is not on the level as others and are ok with that.

    I actually like how this generation Camry drives. I had a '16 as a rental and it performed just fine. Sure, the styling is pretty bland, and the interior is completely utilitarian, but in terms of driving dynamics it actually performs pretty well. It corners pretty flat, the steering has decent weight to it and it points the car where you want it to go, the engine gets the vehicle up to speed nicely after exiting a corner, and the transmission shifts like silk and it does a good job at reading your inputs. It's not like other Toyotas where you have to floor it to get a small downshift. Everything is smooth, responds well, and the handling provides a level of confidence and solidity that you didn't get from previous Camry's. It's a good car for the class that it's in. Other than the interior, I'm not sure why it gets downplayed so much.

    I drive a black on black 2015 XSE V6 that I bought new two years ago & I still love it just as much as when I first drove it off the lot! It has everything I've always wanted & more! My mom drives a gray on gray 2017 XLE 4-cylinder with the convenience package that I recommended for her & she loves it very much! Both our cars are always parked next to each other in the garage & there are a lot of differences in the looks both inside & out as well as the way they both drive & ride which is a good thing!

    You should not have criticized the headrests. On the contrary, Toyota should be praised for that. The reason is that most cars today have pushed the headrests so far forward (Based on Federal mandate) that a lot of people finding them very intruding and uncomfortable (including myself) (you can google that). I’m talking about people that like to have their seat back a little upright, not reclined way back. Some of the cars that have these headrest complains include Accords and Mazdas. I’m sure more cars are also like that. So again, thank you Toyota for positioning the headrest correctly.

      I caught that, too. I actually like it just as it is, without the sunroof and extra cost safety options, and keyed ignition, which is more secure and less things to go wrong with that package and the convenience package with the keyless ignition.
      It doesn't have the latest, updated version of the JBL stereo with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Clarify, the latest TNGA chassis platform and the updated 4 cylinder engine with more HP, but it has the more reliable 6 Speed transmission that albeit has less fuel economy, which is minimal, seems to run smoother, less problematic shifting, have more durability and longevity. And the 2017 XSE body is nicer, and not too overdone, and the 18" wheels and tires are more practical than the 19" due to being more durable. If I could get this car new, as is, it would be great. But the black interior and seats with the red stitching would be the only thing I would opt for, if I could, but the grey interior is fine. As far as the handling, I think added better performance shocks like Bilstein would improve that a lot.

    As much of a fan as I am of Mazda, I'm so glad Toyota gave enough of a shit to give the front AND rear seats good passenger headroom. They also gave the Camry really good rear visibility as well. It doesn't have that unnecessary upwards swoop to the body line to ruin the visibility. Just a nice crisp flat line from the front to the rear. I might actually be interested in buying this for my next car, even though it's more of an on road appliance.

    The ignorance of some of these comments is amazing. The Toyota Camry is not meant to be a 3 series, mustang or SS killer. The mission of the Camry is simple to provide people with reliable, comfortable transportation to get from A to B. With good gas mileage and people who don't really want to stand out in the crowd. It's exceeds in that mission. I personally would wait for the 2018 models as I think the interior is improved big time.

I do appreciate how Toyota gives you an option to have a V6 on the SE & XSE models, unlike Honda with the Accord Sport... & mostly people buy the Camry in the Sporty trims (mostly SE), because it looks better in the front than the non-sporty ones

Smooth as silk, 550 miles a tank and 37 to 40 mpg is what i average . interior is cheap in sections for what I paid and eas expecting. I have a 2015 pathfinder as who that's a lower trim., but that has few extra options that my Camry doesn't have. but the new 2018 one coming out might be a trade in. I've had it for few months, maybe better come spring and summer driving. The Honda is a great looking car, that is fantastic mpg! I dont get why he would bitch about toyota not having a push button start all the time in almost his every single toyota review... Cause in fact it does offer it as an option but his tester just didnt equip with it. Besides, even IF this car didnt come with the push button start, so what? The base wrx doesnt come with a push button start (and the limited didnt even come std with that, you have to get the navigation package to get the push button start), the base brz doesnt come with a push button start, didnt see him complaining and saying that they are "old school" or "such old technology". Also, the push button start is just a fancy function that is cool to have but it doesnt improve the quality of the ride. Anyways, just my 2 cents.

    I like the head rest in the 17 vs the 18, as they push the back of your head forward to much and in a accident you neck area would keep going backward. Not a good design.
    The new cars has a lot more features but how is the new 8 cyl going to hold up in the long run, lets wait and see. The car dealers remind me of other industries who offer more fluffy inside the car...bling for your buck and less quality under the hood.
    I love the camry and have owned several but I don't like the way Toyota using all the other car brands like bmw, mazda, subaru and then slapping a Toyota name on them, but its the way of the world Money over quality.

    the 2015-2017 body style is kinda a disappointment because there’s no sporty body style. it’s just plain jane. you can’t really tell the trim differences like how the 2007-2011 & 2012-2014 had sporty body kits on the SE trims.

    It's March 2020, and I wish I could get one of these cars new, just like your tester. Same blue color with the JBL stereo system with the CD player. It looks nice without being overdone like the 2018 and later XSE, though I still like those, and it doesn't have all the latest tech, and upgraded 4 cylinder engine with 25 more Hzp, but it doesn't have the $10K+ higher price tag, but it's would be just fine for me. Nice and simple. And the 6 Speed transmission is a better one that the newer 8 speed, albeit not as good gas mileage.
    I know it's not the best handling without the newer chassis platform, but probably on par or better than my previous 1984 Buick GN, mu 2000 Chevy Impala LS, and 2006 Chevy Impala SS. I would probably get better high performance shocks, like Bilsteins, maybe a performance dual exhaust and smoke tinted windows, and it would be perfect for me. I will probably be getting a new Honda Civic Sport Sedan, which would probably be the best new sporty and reliable car for me at an even more affordable price, and well equipped for that price point, and even available with a 6 Speed, if you can find one.
    Keep up the good work with all your awesome review videos. Stay safe, happy, and healthy.

      great choices! I don't think you could really pick a bad one. But people of a certain age will think, Kia, its a cheap Korean car and will sink with resale value. no matter how many awards and writer reviews it may win.

    Is the new Camry 4 cylinder quicker than the accord sport 4 cylinder ?

    • @colelockridge5816
      @colelockridge5816 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 4 cylinder Camry and 4 cylinder accord in a drag race are about as even as it gets. However, around town while driving normally, the accord will feel like it is quite a lot brisker, it feels like it has a lot more torque. Trust me, I own a 2013 accord 2.4, and I've driven the 2015 Camry many many times for weeks at a time. But if you want to go with the v6, the Camry is much better. The accord with the v6 is disappointing, I test drove it and just didn't feel enough of a difference from the 4. The Camry with the 6 really pulls, hard. The hybrids are quite the opposite story, where the Camry is just flat out bad, where the Honda is amazing ( for a hybrid, I would just go with the 4 cylinder). Overall, on the 4 cylinders, get the accord. I hate CVTs, but Honda makes the best in the business, and it also gets much better gas mileage. For the 4 cylinder and hybrid, get the accord, but for the v6 , get the Camry

    • @mikexcanxjerk

      Cole Lockridge the new accords v6 does 0-60 in 5.7-5.8 seconds which is quick

I am qualified to give my opinion because I had this car since may 2016 and put 25,000 miles on it this car is I have the v6 and both struts went bat at 10,000 miles the brake pedal is broken where as when you push the brake the brake lights stay on the seats are uncomfortable and the plastics in the car are cheaply made.

    As a driver of a 2007 Camry, the numb steering kinda goes away after you put 209,000 miles on it; By that i mean you learn to feel it. This car isn't and never tried to be a sporty car and i don't know why try to compare them to the sport line from Honda.

    • @hondaftw1234

    • @kidboise5380
      @kidboise5380 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it gets compared to the honda a lot because the honda is just as solid, just as practical, AND is a mildly sporty drive. It like, if honda can do it, why can't toyota? I drive a 2003 accord with 214,000 miles, and after so much time with it, I just don't really get why so many people choose camrys instead. I guess camrys are quieter, which would be nice. The road noise does get annoying on long trips

    • @Doggie504504
      @Doggie504504 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They make zero effort to make the XSE Camry sporty (with the exception of that jewel of a V6). The Accord is on sport suspension, the Camry is literally the same thing but slightly stiffer.
      Honestly I think the Camry is just as good as the Honda Today, however I would choose an 03 Accord over an 03 Camry. I have some road noise in my 07 Camry, Which i heard was basically eliminated in 09.

    • @Doggie504504
