Honda employee here, road noise is due to the ROCK HARD tires. Having driven one with tires that aren’t the factory ones, it’s night and day difference in both how much softer the ride becomes, as well as how much road noise just disappears
Thats with any vehicle! Tires make a difference! I have (till next week) a prius prime, quiet until i changed tires. unlike how I usually shop for tires, I allowed the shop to put some on without shopping or researching, now it's noisy!
@@troytruong8246 that's the first time I've ever heard that. The only thing you can accuse Hondas of doing is making poor automatic transmissions in the early 2000s. Love how you guys review these cars accurately in their class and give a fair review. Experienced too many drivers focus how these don’t perform like a sports car well cause they’re not a sports car! I understand there is still some “athleticism” to review which I appreciate. Fun review without being overly obnoxious, I’m subscribed.
People make jokes about Accords and Camry's all the time. But in terms of value, and how well they are built, seriously, they are great cars to buy if you just want a good car that's dependable and good for your family. I was going to buy a 2nd Camry for my parents when I visit them next time. Covid got in the way and I'm still on the other side of the world
Just bought a 2.0 accord touring and I love it. He’s exactly right that it feels a little sportier and connected to the road albeit that comes with a bit more feedback to the driver when it comes to potholes and the like. I’m also averaging 30 mpg and I’m curious what the XSE V6 gets
Let me say it’s all a matter of choice and I bought the Camry. To me it was just so much nicer. If we all had same taste we would only need one car. Good luck with what ever you chose.
I currently have an '04 V6 Accord and absolutely love it to death. Seeing how both these cars as they stand now, I'm really glad both cars are good for their own reasons. I'm a diehard Accord fan all the way, but I'm really gonna miss those "creamy" naturally aspirated V6s that could've been had in the Accords. I still might look to the newest Accord as I love a balance of comfort and practicality, but also the occasional spirited driving, hooning about that this car has even with its slightly more stiff ride which adds to it. That Camry really has its merit keeping the V6 alive, but in the end I'll probably end up getting a used 2017 Accord V6 as a future daily 🤷♂️
TerminHaider Hey i know this is out of the convo, but I am new to cars and i just moved to the US. I am currently thinking of buying a second hand car. I want a reliable, cheap and sporty cars. I had mustang in my mind but i heard that its not reliable and the only car i have in my mind is Honda Civic Hatchback Sport, do you have any recommendations ?
vinz Vv how cheap is cheap and how sporty do you want the car to be? Also, you mentioned mustang so I’m assuming you don’t care too much about practicality or fuel economy?
The fact that these two compare cars but still respect the better features in each others is what makes this- a wonderful review. Clean and simple. I am in. SUBSCRIBED!!
The new Toyota Camry looks absolutely amazing, especially when you compare it to the incredibly bland last generation model. The Honda Accord has always looked good but for the model shown here, I'm not a fan of the exterior color or the single tone rims. It's also a shame that Honda got rid of the V6 engines and coupe body styles.
Why are you obsessed with the v6? They actually solved a problem. Produced an i4 and support it with an electric system to save fuel without compromising power. Toyota is doing that too.
@@vivijoe2256 I hate to break it to you but a v6 Camry will be more reliable and still get great gas mileage. Any gas you save you spend in the shop later.
@@joebrown4138 The guys in the video said the entire time that Toyota is the most refined, their quality control is phenomenal, and they are are the most reliable and bulletproof cars in the world. Hardly a toy garbage car
Toyotas 3,5ltr V6 are now decades in service in so much cars also in Lexus cars. I have this engine in my Hybrid at i like this so much....the moise, the reliability, the smoothness....no oil consumption after 10 years !!
My brother has a 2019 Accord and my Dad has a 2019 Camry. The Honda is more sporty and faster but the Camry is nicer and quieter and gets slightly better gas mileage. Both good cars, also the Toyota was slightly cheaper.
I was looking into these cars as my new car choice, went with the Accord and I am so happy I did! Best new vehicle I have ever owned, love the throttle response in sport mode and cornering ability. the price was amazing too, only 27K brand new.
I prefer the exterior styling of the Camry. For interior and performance definitely prefer the Accord. But it seems to me you can't go wrong with either of them.
I am a 2.0t Accord Touring owner and this is a very fair assessment/comparison. The Accord can be a lot of fun but the ride is sometimes rough and that knee complaint is completely valid. The sound system is weak but I fixed that will a small 8" JL sub tucked away in the corner of the trunk. The only thing I don't agree with is the seat comfort statement. They get pretty uncomfortable on long hauls. Real world fuel cons.. I have driven 15k miles and averaged 27mpg with highway and city (50%/50%). I have gotten about 36-37mpg highway on a 5 hr drive.
In June, 2019, I paid a negotiated US $22k for a 2019 Honda Accord Sport with 6 miles on it. Adding tax and tag, extended warranty, and finance charges, I was out the door for just under $27k. For me, this makes the Accord the best 4-door sedan for the money.
Rea Ality 4cyl engine? Gl! Its time honda fangirls need to admit the new camry is better than the accord in every way. Camry is better in style, smoothness, comfortability, power. I dont want to hear about honda has better handling bs. U think a sedan is a sports car? Its a daily commute vehicle!
viva la pachanga!! True. A cousin has a 2014 BMW X3 and the turbo recently gave up. Almost went 5 years without a problem. I also have experience with a 2014 Ford Taurus turbo. Turbo failure and now drives like a lawn mower engine powers it. Turbos are fun but unreliable. Oh yeah, also my then new 2007 CX7 2.3 turbo. Turbo seals caused random smoking.
Troy Truong i think you need to research Toyota Camry 4 cylinder reliability issues. The 2.5 has reported major oil burning issues. People with less than 100,000 miles would have to put 1quart in every fuel up. It’s pretty well known. Both brands have their flaws 🤷🏾♂️
I always get confused with accord vs camry reviews. A lot of reviews say the accord is quieter and some say the camry is, but they all equally praise the smoothness of the v6. I test drove both, and in my experience the accord is quieter until it comes to tire noise. For some reason Honda can't get that right. However I drove the accord sport, not the touring. The touring comes with sound dampening inside the wheels. Accord for my choice. It just feels more confident and stable, especially when it comes to steering. And not to mention the camry feels a little too "plasticky" interior wise.
You're absolutely right. Accord can NEVER be quiet for some reason. It is quieter than it's own last generation, that's all. For people who say Accord is quiet , haven't driven anything else.
@@uos64 it's quiet than most new cars I've driven except the Mazda 6. Wind noise is definitely more muted than the new camry but that tire noise is still there😂 at least it's quieter than previous gens
Toyota sedans feel and sound like cheap trash. Just go for a drive in one. If youre ever taken Uber a bit...youll know how lousy the toyotas and cheap they feel, compared to Accord

Excellent compare and contrast between the two vehicles. I've owned 3 Accords and 1 Camry. Accord still wins out in my book. But I'd drive a Camry if someone gave it to me
I test drove both. The Camry isn’t even in the same league as the Accord. The Accord is faster, handles better, and the Camry styling both interior and exterior just feels dated compared to the Accord. No contest, Accord wins this comparison easily.
What's up with the comments "durability reliability" Y'all know both cars have an exceptional heritage of both of these words? You can't say one is more than the other. They are both exceptional and on par to each other. This is purely a decision made from brand loyalty. That being said. I'll take the Accord. Toyota is confused in its styling anymore. It can't decide on a NASCAR stock car look or this blend into it's Lexus line-up. It is a luxurious sedan and it doesn't look the part. Anytime I see the Accord on the road I think sophisticated refined sharp. I see the Camry and I think sporty four door car that can't decide if it wants to hang with the suits or the kids.
I love both cars. I've worked for Honda for the last 16 years as a Tech and I've always been a fan of the Camry. As much as I like the way this one looks, I'm not a fan of how the quad exhaust, it looks cheap. I think Toyota could have done a better job with the design, looks like an aftermarket setup and would probably look better on a smaller vehicle.
Before judging a car based on reviews i believe people should drive the vehicle and get their own hands on experience with the car. I drove both turbos of the new accord and they both were very responsive, great steering, not loud very quiet and very exciting to drive. Get your own opinion, reviews do help but you may have a different experience.
we tried a civic with the 4 cil. and yeah it was quick i guess almost like the accord would be but as soon as i found out it had a turbo i thought, nope not interested. any car with turbos its gonna make a reliable car not reliable.i prefer a naturally aspirated engine over a turbo one.
I drove the Accord and it’s a brilliant car. It felt like my 435i in comfort mode and that’s saying something. It truly is hitting above it’s weight class. The Camry is just too soft and unengaging. That would bore me to tears. The Accord had some really good spirit to its driving dynAmic and that’s why I love to drive cars.
I test drove both the Camry and Accord, and I thought it was really night and day between the two. The Camry was just boring. Maybe my expectations were higher because of the V6, but I just felt like I was driving my grandmother's car. The Accord was a dream to drive and did it's job perfectly of being a family cruiser while also having a sporty, peppy feel to it when you craved some more adrenaline. Neither are sports cars, but I think the Accord does a much better job of being dynamic between the two roles.
I was surprised to see them make that remark. Most reviewers say the Accord is very quiet inside, and actually better insulated than the Camry. I don’t know what to believe now anymore 😥
@@TheBalkenende nah the Accord definitely suffers from road noise. Test drove a Camry first and was actually surprised how smooth and quiet it was (4cyl Se trim). Then we tested a 2.0t Touring Accord and while still smooth, the road noise was very apparent. I'd still choose the Accord, but it's very disappointing with the road noise.
I had a 2016 Acura TLX Advance that I sold last year and replaced it with a 2020 Honda Accord Touring 2.0T. I had initial reservations about going from a V6 back to a 4 cylinder car. Fast forward to now and I can honestly say, I have zero regrets buying my Accord. The more I drive it the more I like it. The only thing I gave up from going V6 to 2.0T is the sound of the engine. A 4 cylinder just isn't going to sound better than a good V6. However, my Accord is quicker than my TLX was and even quicker than the V6 Camry. The Accord is super fun to drive and feels very sporty. Mine is the exact same silver color as the one in this video but mine has the gray interior instead of the black. I am very eager to see what Honda has planned for the upcoming, fully redesigned '23 Accord.
The new upscale Camrys look amazing. I'm a little disappointed that Honda decided to stop making the 2-door coupe and especially the V6 model Accords. Despite the fact that the 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder only makes 20 less hp than my 3.5 V6 Accord, you don't get that thrilling exhaust note that comes with the V6 engine.
I don't know if you guys noticed. But the doors of the camry feels very plasticy and it closes hard. Whereas the accord is much more robust and it closes in a bit "smoother" way.
Well. Toyotas in general always felt cheap and plasticky for like 15yrs. Toyota= reliable but felt cheap Honda= not as reliable like Toyota but uses higher quality.
@@rockyelbrodi I went with Honda Accord Sport. Personally, I prefer the look of the Accord and the interior is very classy. You get a lot for your money, and the quality is there. It feels like you're driving an expensive German car. I do like the Camry, but I feel like there is too much going on, especially in the front of the car. And the red interior is really nice with the panoramic roof. But I feel like overall interior is a little bit on the cheap side. And technology wise, the accord is much better. So I feel like the accord is a better car and its worth every dollar. (If you try to get the same technology in a german car, you're looking at at least 50 000$ CAD. And if you want the size then you're looking at a 5 series, E class or A6. And they are easily 80-90k)
Very awesome review, and this is by far the MOST CIVIL comments section of any car comparison I've ever seen. After a quick scroll, no fighting, no "the Accord/Camry is crap!" kind of stuff. It's nice to see people actually showing respect for cars from different manufacturers. Thank you, people.
I'm sticking with the Toyota simply because it doesn't have a turbo on it, just one more thing that is prone to break. I would choose the Honda if it was the opposite scenario.
@@dakotalovespie Bro size doesn't matter, it's another variable in an already complicated design. It's simple logic that it's going to break at some point. Never the less I would get a regular 4 cylinder Camry over the V6 anyway. Legally I can't drive any faster than 80 mph where I live so paying for something I can't even use is stupid.
I have been driving the Accord for nearly 6 months now, I would say that it’s one of the best cars I have ever owned and the throttle response you get when you need that power, will convince you to buy one of these!
Fuzooli Ameenudeen Its time honda fangirls need to admit the new camry is better than the accord in every way. Camry is better in style, smoothness, comfortability, power. 4cyl engine hondas suck! I've got a 2010 Accord 4 Cylinder 2.4 Liter with 190 Horsepower. 235K miles on her and she still runs beautifully. Nothing done to her aside from basic maintenance. My biggest complaint is what's mentioned in this video and that is road/cabin noise is a bit annoying. Aside from that it was $24,000 well spent.
For me Honda is in first place. You think it is in second place it is like united states and China America is now number one in the world economically but as expectations China will be number one after a while Honda is coming move away Toyota
If u want smooth n comfortable daily sedan, camry beats honda! Honda 4cyl is shit. It breaks! V6 last longer. I highly doubt the new 2.0 turbo engine will last! Toyota all day!
Great review. I would personally go for the Camry, specifically because of my commuter lifestyle. Ride quality and refinement are two of the things I value most in a car (in addition to practicality, looks and reliability/brand reputation) and I've always loved the feel of the Camry. I personally think it looks better than the Accord (I dislike that thick chrome strip in the grille of the Accord). I would however choose a different colour for the Camry.
I liked the Honda better one everything except the engine and transmission. I do not like Turbo charged tiny engines and I loath CVT transmissions. Honda has had better luck with CVT than Nissan, but CVT no matter what brand is not going to last 200k miles before it needs replaced unless maybe all hiway miles. The 8 speed transmission if properly serviced will easily last 200k miles and possibly 300k. When you buy a Toyota or Honda your looking for reliability and a vehicle that can go 300k miles or more.Older Hondas could do it, modern Hondas are iffy. Turbos also like to fail in the 100-150k mile range so over all cost of ownership IMO is the Toyots if maintained correctly.
so in terms of reliably, the camry would take it? cause i’m stuck from deciding either a camry xse cause of the panoramic sunroof and it being toyota for it’s known reliability, but the accord 2.0t seems like it pulls faster but i have trust issues when it comes to engines that are turbocharged, i fear you have more components that can fail on you
It was a funny and informative video guys. Keep up the good work. Kinda wanted to say this for a while, I have owned both cars and right now I drive the accord, Accord is better than the Camry in so many ways. The feel, the drive, the rush, the infotainment, the fuel economy, the accessories, the price. Although I feel that accord could have been a little more better. Like Camry has a better audio system and the safety is better in Camry(CMBS). Accord would brake itself at high speed but not at lower speeds if there is something in front but Camry does. Camry saved a collision once in traffic when I got a little distracted, it literally braked itself before touching the front vehicle. But the uncomfortable seats, less backspace, the sluggish engine, in the Camry are a no for me and that's why I sold it after 4 months and got the accord and I am pretty happy with it so far after almost 6 months. Gonna install some new body kit to it. This is my personal view, others could feel different.
Seriously considered both of these exact models last year (along with the Mazda6 and a couple of other "family sedans") when I was looking to replace my MK6 APR tuned GTI with a new car. My teenage daughter is about to begin driving and I wanted a vehicle with all the latest safety/convenience features if she was going to share it. As most reviewers have found, I thought the two vehicles (along with the Mazda6) were very close. I was impressed by how much the Camry XSE had improved over its predecessor; it no longer deserved to be dismissed as an "appliance." In the end, though, on my "scorecard" the Accord came out ahead. Some thoughts... () Styling. This is by far the most subjective category and for me the Mazda6 was best looking. But the Honda ranked ahead of the Camry. Outside and inside the Camry just seemed to try too hard. I thought it looked like it a descendant from a spaceship in a 1930's Flash Gordon serial. Have to give the Camry points for the traditional shift lever but all in all, I thought the Honda's more traditional cabin layout was more appealing and in terms of the vehicles' profile, the Honda bested the Camry significantly. () Performance. Again, very close and both the Accord and Camry ranked ahead of the Mazda6. But perhaps because I'm accustomed to the "punch" of a turbo 4 in my GTI, I found the Honda's Civic Type R derived engine to be more appealing. There are applications where a naturally aspirated engine is definitely a superior choice (e.g. two ton crossovers) but in this case I was more impressed by the Honda than the Toyota or the Mazda6. () Features. When I was shopping the Camry didn't support either Apple Carplay or Android Auto. And a fully featured, integrated nav system was (and still is) available only via a $2000 package upgrade. The Honda provided all those features as standard. Now the Camry has Apple Carplay but no Android Auto. Not acceptable. In place of Android Auto Toyota provides Alexa integration. Wonderful! I've always wanted to ask my car to tell me the exact date of the Treaty of Versailles. Otherwise, while the front row of seats were more or less comparable, the back seats in the Honda were both roomier and had better materials than the Camry. That's not unusual. Toyota tends to cut costs in their rear seat accommodations to meet a price point. All in all, the Honda won the "features" competition hands down. () Overall. In the end I didn't purchase any of the "family sedans" I considered. Instead, I replaced my 2013 GTI with the 2018 Autobahn edition with an "automated manual" DSG. The out-the-door price was about $5000 less than either the Accord or the Camry but the deciding factor was just how engaging (and familiar) the GTI felt to drive. My daughter lobbied to the end for a Mustang 2.3L Ecoboost but she has come to love the GTI almost as much as I do. :)
@@jamesengelsman9369 It certainly is. I was surprised (and gratified) to see that VW didn't neuter the GTI's engine and drive train in the new GLI. I'd stick with my GTI for its versatility and my big dog agrees. (I just checked with him.) But the GLI is a handsome and highly appealing vehicle.
I just picked up Accord 2.0T Sport last week and I have to say it feels like it has way more power than I'll ever need. It gets to 110-120 before you realize, and it's not like you can drive much faster here in Canada. Sadly the CVT model didn't feel nice to drive at all or I could have saved a bunch of money. What worries me is that 2L version seems to be in a short supply, like no one is buying them. Not sure how that will affect service, support and resale value. I do like the looks of Camry's sunroof especially in top trim version with red leather and it also looks like it's 360 camera system is better than Accord's. I don't think longevity is that much of an issue because in 10 years electrics will probably be everywhere.
2.0T has the same engine as the famous Honda Civic Type R, the accord just has smaller turbos than the civic. That engine is the Honda K20, a very reliable engine, you will be completely fine in the long run.
To be honest, Honda Accord had more powerful engine and more practical then Toyota Camry plus the front look of the accord is surprisingly elegance while Toyota Camry had a fantastic back design
@@cdawg3506 also if you look online for people that check out wheel horsepower .... The Accord probably is more powerful, even though Honda downplays the actual horsepower.

I test drove both of these cars and the Camry doesn’t compare. I went with the 2019 Honda Accord. In my humble opinion it’s the best in its class and I’ve only ever owned Chevy Malibu’s so I’m not bias in any way and felt it was time for a change. My advice would be to test drive them both because it’s what swayed my decision in choosing the Accord. Find what’s best for you!
Both front-ends have their issues; Accord has the unibrow and Camry looks too busy with too many angles. The Accord is easier to fix though. Look up images of cars with black chrome front grille and they look so much nicer. It looks a bit like a Dodge Charger.
My '98 Camry is starting to have engine problems and I can't find the right O2 sensor. It drove like a dream for YEARS. It was my college commuter car. I'm sad to see it go but I think I will be getting another Camry. Its such a smooth rider.
My grandma had a 97 that’s been through a flood that covered the whole care and it’s held together by duct tape and it still runs as good as her new 2017 Camry and the flood was over 10 years ago

Personally, the smooth acceleration of an NA V6 is what really makes me happy. Suspension doesn't have to be super refined. I'm not tracking the car. As much as I love putting my foot down, and feeling sporty when the turbo kicks in, that V6 will be 30km/h faster than the turbo will be at and much smoother.
Just bought a 2018 accord 2.0T exl and it's super nice. The engine is just perfection. Very torquey. It just pulls and pulls. Interior is much better than the camrys outdated look. Rides better, the 10 speed transmission shifts quick and people are hitting 400ft lbs of torque with a downpipe, intake and tune. Amazing. Honda did amazing with the accord. The last sentence in this review clinches it for the Camry. Honda has'' proven over and over they can make a car last'' but not with this engine transmission combo. I'd be weary of buying an Accord if you plan on keeping it a long time. No worries with the Camry.
@@layne4376 Toyota uses combined injection, both port and direct, preventing carbon build up. Using only direcrt injection instead of combined is just cost saving for the manufacturer.

I agree, the thick chrome strip looks TACKY.
Did you have the Camry v6?
@@t.k.morris Exactly what I was thinking b/c the V6 Camry is vastly different (especially in these 2018-2019 models) than the 4 cyl Camrys.
GTI is a great pick. New GLI is a strong argument, too
@@jamesengelsman9369 It certainly is.

@@cdawg3506 Faster. Check out this channel’s drag race, the Accord 2.0 beats the Camry six.

I would go with the Camry.. I owned a Honda Civic. I had to sell it due to transmission problem under 145k miles.. Toyota is known for their reliability.
Dudes love the presentation and the sarcasm.
I love my Honda accord 2.0 sport.
I’ll never regret my choice to buy the Camry after trying each several times. In the long run you will appreciate substance and comfort over the sporty feel you get with the accord. I also feel the xse is leaps and bout ahead of the accord for refinement.
vulcanman64 don’t forget the XSE has that red interior and black roof.
Camry's interior looks nice but upon close examination is cheap. Sorry.
Smart choice! Its time honda fangirls need to admit the new camry is better than the accord in every way. Hey, thanks for this! James and Thomas, you guys are very informative and entertaining! Really!? I'm coming from GM & Ram, but I've really enjoyed driving the wifes Camry. Without trying to be like her I was looking at a Honda. Was your tranny not under warranty? I know Nissan gives their customers the run around but surely not Honda. (I know honors warranties!)
C Allen he’s probably referring to older Honda products , Honda made horrible transmissions in the late 90s and early 2000s
hahaha very interesting and entertaining keep up the goodwork guys
I'm a huge fan of full sized sedans. Owned 2 Buick Regals, and a Buick Lacrosse.
Been looking recently at the accords with the manual trans, never even thought of the Camry.
I really like the style of your guys' reviews. Keep up the good work.
ONLY complains, the turning radius absolutely sucks on it. Turns like a bus. Brakes are very touchy but it might just be me being used to vacuum brakes.
Accord is more comfy, powerful, fun, luxurious and in my opinion looks better. Owned one of these vehicles and had an amazing experience

That's cool for the 1 in a million people that want it. I work at a Honda dealer and we get, without exaggeration, about 2 manual Accords a year. Two, of about 1000 Accords sold in a year.

@@layne4376 Thanks for the Subaru comments...I have been looking at a Subaru Forester, a Camry and a Honda Accord...
@@layne4376 Toyota uses combined injection, both port and direct, preventing carbon build up. Using only direcrt injection instead of combined is just cost saving for the manufacturer. Why should consumers support that and buy an engine they have to clean themselves(which 99% of owners won't do, making used cars troublesome and worsening their resale value) when they can just buy a combined injection engine instead?
