      I think it should also add the shockwave for the powerful punches. Wii sports boxing did that and even though it's a meme it felt really effective imo

    I think you should also include the enemies head velocity. like if the enemy leans away from your punch it should be less damage and if they lean into the punch it should be more. I believe you could do this by calculating the head vector at the time of collision and your hand vector at collision and if their head vector is a similar angle to your fist vector it would do less damage and if the vectors are opposite do more damage

      This 100%. Since it is physics based there should really be only one way to do it. Calculate the difference of the hand velocity vector and the head velocity vector. Then multiply this by the normal of the tangent to the head. Basically the speed difference gives you some value for how hard a punch COULD be. Then the normal vector to the head determines what 100% of that damage gets through. Think of it as a percentage grazing function.

    The UFC games have a good system with stamina where stamina is affected by how much damage you take and how much you are throwing punches, I think that is a cool system to implement into your game.

    and i think u should make the hitting animation as a purchasable product such as the particles or the lighting strike and for the slomotion u should add a bar that fills with every hit and when u press it ur next hit will be slomo and with like a bit of extra damage. i think u should also add like a finishing move when u win against the opponent but its probably to early for that
    im so excited for the game and i cant wait to see it finally finish:))))))

    I'm sure it would be hard to impliment, but be worth it in the end. If the particles were sorted behind both of the players, so there is never overlap. It would make it possibly look better, and not as distracting.

    Honestly I think that having the absence of a health bar would actually be better for the game due to it being a physics based game and the art style. TABS would have much less immersion if every unit had a health bar. Or, the stamina bar could also be a health bar, because in real boxing you don’t kill your opponent, you just cause them pain and drain their energy until they get downed due to not have enough stamina to get up or until they give up. This would also be an interesting mechanic because attacking would also drain stamina so you’d have to balance attacking with defending. This could also stop players from just spamming low stamina moves.

    IDEA: Make the health system like Super Smash Bros. Every time you hit someone, their % goes up. Every time you hit, you have an increased chance to knock them out. Harder punches have an increased chance. It gets really edgy when two people have a really high % and are one big hit away from dying. I think it would also be cool if health and stamina were combined somehow. In boxing, your stamina is basically your video game health. As you take punches, you get more tired and your punches are weaker. As someone who is currently learning unreal, I have to give so much credit to you. I can barely balance school, life, and unreal and you are out here creating 3d animations, learning blueprints, and figuring out particles from scratch while balancing with the rest of life and creating super high quality videos. I love your work! Keep it up :)

    I have some ideas:
    You could add a DJ on the side playing a track.
    You could add rag doll physics and a medic that picks up the opponent that lost.
    You could have electric particle effects on the ropes of the ring.
    Add Ziggy as a spectator.

    Suggestion :- make the environment interactive
    Like when you hit something like the corner bag like structures, they spit out foam and become deflated
    Also use Jojo as reference, the katakana effects and the punching ghosts (stands)
    Like you can use star platinum's punches as a reference to make the punches extra noice

    PARTICLE SYSTEM FEEDBACK: I Love the blur/air movement effect on swinging and connecting w the attacks, especially when they’re based on speed / damage of the attack. I liked the red glare effect that matches the gloves. And while i do think that you should include some particles for when enemy is hit for player feedback, I didn’t care for the “POW” text, nor the small lightning bolt looking icons that appear when hitting enemy. The hit-marker looking particle (kind of square looking) was ok IMO. Aside from that I think the particles add a lot to the games feel and certainly an improvement. (PS I’m totally down to play testing if you’re ever looking for applicants :p keep up the good work!)

    *Some advices from dreaming game dev.*
    1) Some random tips for newbies like "U can hit hard by leaning and punching in same direction for more damage."
    2) If possible plz introduce jumping and falling.
    3) background voices like "KO" or something.
    4) More settings for graphic quality, controls and Game settings to enable or disable stuff like Music, Anime stuff and slomo.
    5) Allowing player to exit ring or jump from corner.

    Thank you all for providing so much entertainment to me during my high school years. All of the music, how to, life videos, just talking about problems, etc. It has all been a great help to keep my mind off the horrible things that are happening on the outside. Can’t imagine what I would have done without you all there distracting. I wish I could repay you all but I am just a sad jobless teenager. But now, I’m going to college to hopefully train, get a real job, and then hopefully pay it all back; somehow. For now the best that I can do is just say thank you for now and know that I hope you never stop making awesome content. I hope that youtube doesn’t screw you over too much this day and age. Look forward to bringing your content along with me to college as well. And thank you once again for keeping my mind off all the horrible things that are happening these days.     Yes, you can do that in Unity's particle system. Overall pretty interesting because I haven't worked with Unreal's particle system before. Nice job👍

    Maybe you could use the electricity effect at 3:40 or something similar as a texture overlay on the players to indicate when they run out of stamina/have fully recharged their stamina.

    Idea : How about the more times you get hit the more elusive and wobbly your character is representing “ tiredness and dizziness” and then eventually your character would be so wobbly they would be knocked out. If that makes sense...

      A good way to tie this in could include losing both stamina AND health when getting punched. And whenever stamina is very low, tiredness / dizziness / inaccuracy / slow response time kicks in

    I think that once you are ready to implement the KO animations and physics, you should change the animation depending on the punch.

    Not gonna lie I feel like it know my soul purpose to get on the Epik pegboard
    I want to be remembered as the guy who made it on the board I need this
    Also I agree about the comic style being a little distracting but if you made into a hit counter like in other fighting games and your combos would just be you got 5 ShAblAmos or 7 POWS it would just be hilarious

    Suggestion on how to make the damage system EVEN better!!!!
    when the fist hits the head store the current position of the head relative to the root bone and while the fist is colliding with the head access the heads postion relative to the body and subtract it from the original postion to get a vector 3 direction and (im not sure if this is the terminology for unreal, im a unity dev) and use the .magnitude function to work out a float with the distance from the head it has travelled when the fist stops colliding and multiply your current damage sytem with the value so the damage with also be based on how big of an impact is dealed. this is important because you could lean into the punch and the fist could be travelling really fast but the player is far away enough that the impact is barely visible and yet you deal like 30 damage.
