    Mercedes-Benz EQC
Highs Plush cabin, refined handling, costs less than some competitors.
Lows Some rivals offer quicker acceleration, shorter driving range than some competing models, infotainment system's touchpad comes with a learning curve.
Verdict The EQC isn't the quickest pick in its class, but it's an excellent choice if you're looking for an electrified SUV that rates highly for comfort and luxury.
    Overview
A growing number of carmakers offer electrified transportation, and Mercedes-Benz had planned to enter the fray with the EQC before pulling the plug on its electric SUV in early 2021. Mercedes-Benz was careful to say that the EQC could be introduced to the U.S. in the future, but for the time being it will remain an option only in overseas markets. The EQC would have been a compact SUV that offered seating for five. Its fully electric powertrain would have delivered quiet performance, along with the crisp acceleration that's part of the package with many luxury EVs. Its cabin looked appropriately deluxe, with high-gloss plastics, attractive textiles, and modern design. Overall, the EQC's blend of Mercedes-Benz opulence and eco-friendly electrification would have made it an attractive pick for green-minded luxury-SUV buyers.
    What's New?
The Mercedes-Benz EQC was initially intended to be all new for the 2021 model year, but unfortunately that plan has changed and the German automaker has decided not to bring the EQC to market in the United States.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
    Progressive: $68,895
    Premium: $73,265
    Advanced: $77,615
The Mercedes-Benz EQC's Progressive trim would have come with enough standard features to keep most luxury-SUV buyers happy. All models come were going to offer a sunroof to let natural light into the cabin, and rain-sensing wipers to keep the windshield clear on stormy days. A power liftgate would also have been standard, along with LED headlights.
    EV Motor, Power, and Performance
The EQC would have paired two electric motors with a lithium-ion battery. A one-speed direct-drive transmission was used to power to all four wheels. This powertrain would have provided a total output of 402 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque. We never had the chance to test the EQC, but Mercedes-Benz estimated that it would have made the sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. That would have put it behind its key rival in this segment, the Tesla Model X. Tesla claims a zero-to-60-mph time of 4.4 seconds for the Long Range model and 2.7 seconds for the high-performance variant with Ludicrous mode engaged.
    Range, Charging, and Battery Life
We expected the EQC would have delivered a driving range of 200 miles or less. That would have put it well behind the Tesla Model X, which can travel for more than 300 miles on a single charge. It's perhaps this shorter driving range that ultimately led to the decision to cancel the EQC for the United States.
    Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The EQC's cabin would have provided more outright luxury than buyers will find in rivals such as the Tesla Model X and Jaguar I-Pace. The construction was solid, the execution was impeccable, and the quality of the materials used was above reproach. The high-quality cabin is yet another reason to be disappointed in the EQC's cancellation. Mercedes never disclosed final cargo capacity for this SUV. However, as a reference point, the GLC-class upon which the EQC would have been based provides about 19 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats.

Ageed, now all they have to do is increase range to atleast 500 miles and decrease charging times to 3 to 5 minutes, the same amount of time it takes to fully fuel a regular car. For the money they want, that's the least they can do....

The Mercedes EQC all electric takes 11 hours to charge. It has a range of alittle over 250 miles. Cost? 128 thousand to 140thousand dollars. This is a ride for the rich. Now here's my car which is for the wise. I have a 2014 buick lacrosse hybrid. Not only is it in great condition but polished at all times. I get 403 miles per tank of gas and it takes me 7 minutes or less to fuel and that includes running in and grabbing a coffee. It cost me 16,000 dollars and it's paid off. It rides smooth and great when trying to make time on a long distance travel. I dont have the time to sit 35m to 45 minutes yet alone 11 hours. At a price of 128thousand dollars, that's a pretty nice down payment on a house in my book. If America is so going ho on electric vehicles then why doesn't the United States of America build highspeed bullet trains which is also fast and fully electric? The Mercedes is overrated and just like any other car or suv which will eventually begin to fall apart due to age. Life is hard and money is hard to come by and inorder to survive in this difficult time, you must handle money with wisdom......

Mercedes is not overrated. Anyone who has owned one knows this. I do agree with you the range is not there yet. But 11 hours to charge? Not if you have correct plug installed in your garage.

@@kara5958 Three months later... I'm still waiting to buy an EV. I still haven't found one that is the same as a regular car and unless you have money to burn Mercedes is overrated. Who the hell has a hundred grand or more for a car? Don't get me wrong EVs are kool But im waiting with patients for the next-generation EV. You think EVs are great now? Waite till you can fully charge from 0 to 100 percent in 7 minutes or less and has a range of 500 miles. Now we're talkin!! That's when I'll buy one, especially if it's a large full size luxury automobile. I sold my lacrosse because i need better range. So i brought the large full size luxurious 2021 Jaguar XJl. I fuel up (once a month) and takes me 7 minutes or less depending on wether or not i run in and grab a coffee. Be nice when the day comes when you can fully charge in 7 minutes or less. (Not hours) and without having to hook up an apparatus to you cribb costing more money on the electric bill. The range on my Jaguar XJl has a range of 515 miles which supersedes any EV. And with the price tag of just over $41,000, Not $141,000 it's paid off. Now when i make the 831 mile trip from Lancaster Pennsylvania to Jacksonville Florida, i only have to stop once as far as fueling. It takes me 11.5 hours to 12.5 hours to reach my destination and not 15 to 17 plus hours by EV which i took with my cousin in his so called (long range) Tesla model Y. Never Again! We spent more time stopping and sitting. Improve the EV and they will be even more worth the while to own and boast. Till they are improved, they're nothing more than shit for range especially when it has to be plugged in for hours to get that shit for range....

      @kara5958 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@carlsmith5545 Carl, you are absolutely right on the range. I’m holding out for that to improve and I will wait for a certified preowned. I have solar so it would be great to plug in and not pay the ridiculous California gas prices (was up to $7 gal last week). I drive a lot for work and get reimbursed but it’s still insane. Since I spend so much time on the road, I really love my Mercedes SUV out of all the cars I’ve had over the years.

@@kara5958 Well no wonder you Californians are so gong ho on EVs! Gas is 390 here in Pennsylvania and cheaper in the south east. But to, your state should finish the California highspeed rail project. Bullet trains are also,(fully electric). But right now, I'll waite for the next generation EV. I'm not sitting around like some kid in time out. I just don't have the time.
