so so so cool! I would love to try something like this to make furniture/logo tags for my furniture builds. Also, you're great on video. Easy to listen to and the b-roll clips while you're talking about that particular thing is extremely helpful. Excellent video. Can't wait to try this out soon!🙌🏻

First - You are excellent in craftsmanship and also presentation!! Where I live are many, many golphers. They all seem to have these divot fixers that also magnetically hold a ball marker and it justs hangs on the golf bag for use during play, Any thoughts of doing a video regarding those little dodads? Thanks for so much great instruction and entertainment. JC
Thanks Jack. We actually did a video talking about golf items. Divot tools are an easy pickoff for items to make. th-cam.com/video/E8F9NTPa2f0/w-d-xo.html
I use a friction fit in MDF. the cutters are usually small and the cutting forces low. You could add in a dab of superglue between some layers of blue tape for insurance.
@@carbide3dI want to start a side gig like this with the carvera with stainless steel 1” coins. If I take your idea and make a bracket for them I should fit 77. How long would you say it takes to engrave one side of each coin with a more moderate to advanced design like yours?(carvera has a auto tool changer and I’d have it change tools after one complete pass if I wanted to change tools rather then each coin) Also I figured I’d give a kid I know in highschool like a$1 a coin he makes, spend another $1 per coin on cost etc and sell each coin for about $10 and make the consumer buy them in a set of 2-4( maybe each a different design and hopefully one of them they like enough to justify buying the set) so I can sell more bulk. Making approximately 230 a day in 8 hours bringing in $2,300 minus $460 in upfront cost without tax and shipping.
Hi, please can you help...I'm looking to cut copper sheet by cnc, using a 2mm flat endmill, what speed, feed, plunge rate, stopover and pass depth would you suggest?
Start with the Aluminum Stock settings. Be aware of the DOC and feed rates on the smaller endmills. Go with smaller DOC and 1/2 the feed rates to start. Tweek from there. We broke a few endmills along the way. When cutting metal that’s part of the learning curve.
I have doubts about the capabilities of a CNC machine. in my country There are claims from many people. about using a 3d scanner together with CNC machine in copying ancient coins Then put it for sale. But I wonder in small details such as scratches in the mold Very small, such as 0.1mm, is the CNC machine capable of making it exactly the same as the original? I want to collect those coins. But worried about buying fake coins? Thank you.
This depends significantly on the design and endmills used. Factoring in all the tool changes, these were approximately 15min. per side. If you were to run batches, you'd end up conserving a fair amount of time over a several coin run.
This was done on our NOMAD 3 Desktop machine. Check out the work of Tom Sterling. He utilizes the NOMAD 3 to begin designs and then does detailed handwork as the next step. His results are outstanding. instagram.com/tom_sterling_hand_engraving?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Thanks Michael - I have fixed the files once again. This time with a different aspect keeping the Standard Files from being opened in Standard Create. All should be working now. Try the downloads again and enjoy. Post back what you make from the files!
Keep making videos like these. The more the better. Inspiration is invaluable.
You guys are CNC super hero’s. This is awesome, like all of the innovation you guys bring to the table..the cnc table 😉
Thanks Kevin. Another great video.

Interesting work holding solution. Nice video!
That's awesome man thats detail im gonna have to try that keep it up brother.........
That Bitcoin turned out pretty good! The Ferrari one too!
Very inspiring, I love custom coins.
i was wondering if you could make a 1907 high relief $20 gold piece with the cnc . that coin would look great in copper.
Amazing idea. Thank you for posting.
very creative!!! might have to try this with my shapeoko!
Definitely.

I wonder if Shapeoko 3, 4 or Pro could get that kind of detail?
I have made things this size and smaller on my SO3. It’s certainly capable. The 4 and the Pro are also ready for this work. Definitely try it!
Very cool! I'm thinking challenge coins are in my future. But… how did you keep the blanks from spinning inside their jigs?

Great! What brand/model of cnc did you use? what brand/model can you recommend? Many thanks!
Shapeoko and Nomad - both machines are featured in the video.

Do you think these would look even more like a real coin if you threw them in a tumbler to smooth out the etching
That’s worth a shot.

Could the Nomad 883 handle this?
Yes it can. You’ll have to back off on the Feedrate and DOC a bit. You absolutely can do the project.
What is the board you used to hold the coins. 1/2" MDF?
Yes sir, MDF
@@carbide3d thank you, i just ordered a machine and will need to use this technique for the product I'm making. :) Hopefully I can figure it out. LOL

depends on the cnc machine. A large machine called a mill can recreate details up to as small as 0.0001 inch
Wait. They added a trim command to CC? Freaking finally!? The closer it gets to autoCAD the easier it is to use.
You’re right, it was a welcome change. We’ve added a number of things to Create over the last couple of years.
