There's definitely the sense of a fresh breeze blowing through the yard now, and I liked your reflecting about what the cars owe you. Your "poor decisions" haven't bankrupt you, they have led to the growth of a well-known/respected YT channel in the car community, and you've kept afloat. Removing the chaos from the yard and lock up means you're ready to welcome new opportunities.

You mentioned poor financial choices, I brought a Volvo with a dodgy engine (bent pistons) had to scrap it, replaced it with a £1300 Saab that had an MOT fix list worth £1800 just 8 months later, which I also had to scrap. I call these errors “teachable moments”. Also without your videos, I would still be one of those people that assumed all Rovers were terrible, but you have educated me sir to learn they were wonderful cars for the most part, as long as the head gasket was done. So thank you Mustard.
Perhaps you would benefit from expanding the scope of Project Nigel Land. Keep doing the MG Rover stuff but find something else to complement and most probably subsidise your Rover operation, there must be something that you could raise a level of enthusiasm for that might generate a living wage. I think the Rover market is very much at ‘enthusiast’ stage now, anyone after something for a grand to bumble about in and throw away when the mot fail gets too much is probably not going to choose something from a marque that’s been dead for 20 years when they can get all sorts of Herman, French, Japanese kit that you can still get parts for so maybe adding an extra market or two will allow you to continue to be the saviour of old Rovers whilst being able to earn a decent living for your family. I don’t know, but I hope you find something that not only pays the bills but also makes you happy and keeps your channel going.

Rover has been gone nearly 20 years, I remember it like yesterday 😮
I did a big cleanout when my Fiesta broke down and again when I sold the Maestro. I made more money in scrap and selling parts then I did if I had sold the cars whole. It's just being a bit clever.
The place is looking a little lighter now. Think of the newfound space down in the lower lockup 😮🚗🚗🚗😛👀! Now get the Red car moved out of sight and in it's space so you can strip it down ect. I'm sure there's at least a few more loads laying around in the undergrowth somewhere in there 😂! Oh, and #Blameboaty .
Well, you've made a lot more space and made some money to keep yourself ticking over. I know you sometimes have doubts and worries, but you are your own boss, you're not stuck in an office all day watching the world pass you by. You're living a real life, yeah it's a challenge, but the many benefits far outweigh the negatives.

It is heartbreaking scrapping parts from cars you love , I know from past experience you will regret it ! As these cars will soon be like the mk1 mk2 escorts of the world ! I remember scrapping a mk2 harrier escort for a guy many years ago ! They weren't worth a lot back then ! If only id have stored it away somewhere 😕

Have spent good money for years hoarding T16 Turbo engines and pg1 gearboxes etc as it what I love! I will one day build some more T16 Turbo sleepers! I do love a T16 Turbo motor was buying Vitesse Turbo and 620ti for £200 a pice 15 years ago them was the days! Ha ha
My 8 cats have just woken me up .. all fed back to my early morning dose of TH-cam before work .. Paul not being rude its only crap folk don’t want .. the rover scene has made you good content.. plus scrapped parts have put bread and baked beans on the table !!!! On a general note, being on the continent I can't help but notice that getting MGR parts here is increasingly becoming a pain. Perhaps that's a market area you want to look into? Speaking of a trip to continental Europe once every couple of months to sell some parts. They do go for quite a premium here since Brexit has complicated access to parts and you have the network and ability to source them at a good price.

Start breaking Jags, nobody is going to think less of you mate your in business at the end of the day and there is a huge demand for them. Play to to your strengths and do what you know your good at, just because the demand for rovers is dwindling doesn't mean the end its just the end of an era stay positive old chap 🙌🙌🙌
@1:09 A Steel Grey (paint code LMZ) 800 bootlid. If I still had my first car, a same-colour 820e in the same colour (H709LOF), it would have fitted perfectly. I do remember weird, random stuff like wanting a lip spoiler like that one.
I got rid of my last mgtf the other day, been getting them 20 plus years, tbh it's my last.
Needs must mate, if bits are not selling and you need the money all you can do is make money by scrapping. I do hope cars sell.for you. In my neck of the woods Rovers are as rare as hems teeth and demand high prices. Used to see them for sale all the time but not anymore. Only the odd none runner for top money. MG Rovers are great cars. I've owned two 214 R8 and a MG ZS. I also thought my ZS was better than my XR3I. The R8 was trouble some at first but crank sensor changed and it was great. Your a standard bearer mate just hope you can carry on making a living from it.

In 40 years time there will be a comprehensive Wikipedia section on how what went down in this yard has hampered Rover fanatics of the futures ability to restore rare Rovers. I’m here to say that this is 100% not this man’s fault, there is ZERO demand and life gets in the way 👍 so suck it up future Rover fanboys and pester Rimmer Bros for pattern parts 😂
It's difficult. I see people making money in this space but they do it by repairing cars with value. Often quite new ones with minor blemishes that affect the value more than it really should. And I don't think those people really enjoy the cars themselves.
But you do.
So if life is for living what you're doing is worth doing because the nearest profitable alternative is just a little bit soulless?
This was a half baked thought shat out before 7am on a Saturday but that's what I've thought

Have you an ebay listing? Do you do marketplace? Over here we have donedeal for flogging cars etc, it works but you do have to listen to gobshites 🙄👍🇮🇪
