Honestly wired carplay is always better to me you dont have to worry about any disruptions with wired. Plus you can charge more efficiently with wired cs wireless and using a wireless charger.
It's better (for me too) but wireless Carplay should be part of the package at these prices at this point in the game. Gotta give Genesis a demerit on that one. And saying it's coming via an over the air update is tantamount to vaporware, pie in the sky and other stuff that never happens.
Hyundai and Kia have tens of thousands of researchers at the Namyang R&D Center. About 7-8 years ago, the Genesis brand was established, and a new Genesis team was formed within the research center. The key point is that all the intelligent and capable employees moved to the Genesis team. Additionally, President Albert Biermann played a significant role. As for President Manfred, his only notable contribution was insisting on including the GV60 in the lineup. Despite skepticism from the sales, marketing, and research departments regarding the GV60, no one opposed it because Manfred was personally recruited by Chairman Chung Eui-sun.
The GV60 is the grill-less equivalent of the red-headed stepchild within the Genesis family. Personally, I like it but it's a "one of these things is not like the others" moment every time you see the whole Genesis lineup together.
I've watched about 15 reviews. Only one mentioned 0-60 ... at a tick under 6 sec. If accurate, for 400+ HP & Torque, seems they're leaving a LOT of room for the Magma sub-brand to overshadow this version. My 1992 Lexus SC400 was 200 HP (250 in 2nd year) and 260 torque ... and did super low 6's all day long.
Bro I just fast forwarded through the entire video to not see you do a pull in sport+ the entire time. I’ve already watched a couple other reviewers who came out there and an older guy did but really didn’t show it off. As someone who loves my g70 for its speed I really want to see what this thing is capable of.
I hope Genesis has an EV version of this one sometime in the next couple of years. The low gas mileage is just too depressing for a vehicle in 2025. Hard to believe that the extra weight and power of a supercharger raises the gas mileage, that's counterintuitive.
I would prefer this over any European new vehicle. My only caveat is the price! The other makes have brand Status and Genesis does not. The one thing they can do is price this more competitively to offset their lack of brand panache.
2025 GV80 and GV80 coupe e-SC are definitely NOT the same. I love them both but for different reasons. I've driven both and the coupe is certainly sportier. Handling, Sport+ , and launch control put the Super Charged coupe well above the top GV80 when speed matters.
It's a really nice vehicle for sure, but in this class it has nothing on the Germans in this segment. The Germans cost more but they easily do everything better. Looks and the interior will sell it in small numbers, but that's about it. The regular GV80 makes a much better case for itself. The supercharged engine is a joke in this vehicle as it is in the G90, it literally makes no difference. When you option up an engine level in the Germans it makes a far bigger difference.
You must've never been in a Genesis because it can very easily contend with the Germans. The GV80 Coupe isn't trying to be a performance vehicle that's what Magma will be. As someone who's driven many of the rivals, Genesis can definitely run with the pact. Only thing hindering it's greatness is it's age. They're reliable, well-built, fun to drive, dynamic, innovative, gorgeous cars, and at a very attractive price no less. The Holy German Trinity barely even tries anymore and are more vanilla than ever. The G70 3.3T has went up against the M340i in many comparisons and came out on top or tied. The GV70 has come in a close 2nd to the X3 but beat out the Merc GLC and Audi Q5. So show me some actual evidence that establishes otherwise.
Ooooo facinating to have a modern twin charged cars. Saw SuperTurbo and it reminded me of the mighty cat mods SuperTurbo and I thought oooooooo wait that kinda SuperTurbo? Super cool.
I came straight to the comments to say THIS IS NOT A COUPE. idc what the manufacturer calls it. Two doors + low slung roof = coupe. Not a shortened suv with 4 doors. At 3:10 he even calls it an SUV
This is such a tired and overplayed comment. We've had automakers call vehicles with 4 doors coupes for many many years now. Technically, they are coupe styled with the sloped rear roof. Coupe means cut in french....it doesn't mean 2 doors. Meanings of words can and do change over time as new things come out. Get over it! Even the term coupe changed it's meaning since it's inception. The first coupe was a 4 door. Someone in England chopped the rear roofline off their car and called it a coupe. After that, most then came with 2 doors as manufacturers caught onto the trend. Then the CLS came out decades ago, followed by many more, going back to having 4 door coupes. Audi calls them Sportbacks, and others may say fastback. They all mean the same thing, having the rear roof sloped, aka "cut".
Almost 90 large ones for a Genesis with less space? That still uses wired Car Play when other brands have gone wireless for years? Part of the appeal of this brand when it came out was that you could own it at a substantial price difference compared to the Germans and Japanese and get more value for money. That clearly isn't the case anymore. Realistically this brand should cost $15-20K less than their rivals to remain competitive.
Not a fan of the rear end just like BMW looks odd. The other concern when u buy a 80k or 90k Genesis vs Mercedes or BMW is resell value that the issue they have
Lol, the same people who pay crazy money for Toyotas would be my guess. While I like the brand this vehicle does nothing for me, but that's my opinion.
The blue seats have every comfort feature look grt8. They may negotiate the price very competitive market. It does look sensational inside and outside. With a German auto u will pay for every crumb. Hyundai and Kia have sensational styling with their autos within the last few yrs. Probably true German autos may have a leg up on engineering engines but is if worth 15 k more, u going to keep it 20yrs?😮
I don't like the display. Looks like a long brick just sitting there. They should have curved it into the front console. Everything else about the car is stellar.
The word coupe means cut, which is what is being done to all coupes of this nature (whether it be 2 doors, 4 doors, sedan, or suv). The rear corner of the roof is cut off to make it sloped. The door count does not matter, neither does the body style. The very first one, someone made themselves from their 4 door sedan, so...... The CLS just brought it back into mainstream in 2004.
@@jeffs6090 Nope, sorry, that hound won't hunt. We've had vehicles we've referred to as coupes since vehicles were horse-drawn. For $87,000, I'll take the equivalent Audi, BMW or Mercedes. At this price point, Genesis is getting away from the "value brand" and chasing German engineering; which creates an opportunity for Lexus if they can get their act together.
The equivalent in those brands will be $10k+ more because of the Germans nickel and dime you on all the optional equipment. Take the X6, you need to get the base 40i for the same 375hp in the base GV80 Coupe. You need to add the majority of the options to have the equivalent things the Genesis comes standard with. You then end up with an $88k X6. Then, I might as well get the 406hp GV80 coupe for that price and have the faster car. So, yes, Genesis is the better competition.
One of GENESIS’ top engineers are from BMWs performance branch. Asian vehicle brands tend to be easier to service and modify. Not to mention the 10 year - 100,000 mile warranty. @NeedSpeedRC Speak for the brand snobs and the uninformed because Genesis is not a joke.
