I never understood the saying I liked these clubs but I could use more distance, so these clubs are better for me. In reality you basically have the same clubs but the number on your irons instead of saying 4i-PW it says 5i-GW even though the lofts are basically the same. So you didn't actually gain distance you just changed the number on your clubs to be one higher so you feel better about your yardages.
I got fitted by Cobra for these Forged Tec X, shafts and grips. The fitter was amazing and spent a couple of hours with me on each club. I’m playing 4i to GW. This fits well with my 54 and 60 SM9 wedges. Playing the golf of my life right now.
Gabe, I commented on the Forged Tec video and suggested you try the X model. My bottom line is that the X’s feel look sound just like Forged Tec but just a little longer…and so forgiving. I sold all my irons that I had accumulated in my shop and got two sets of these - one for travel. And I’m the guy who has played most irons on the market and started golf playing Mizuno irons. These are that good. Now I can start my quest for an equivalent performing Driver. I might go get the Rogue driver you are playing. Lol.
Love the videos! I will have to try these, but I can honestly say my PXGXP‘s are amazing! They feel better than the 0211’s you tested but are forgiving as heck just like the cobras I am sure.
Fitted these clubs yesterday and man, they do feel so great. The ball pops off so nicely. Best clubs I've ever tested. Ordered them and can't wait to play them!
My son in law has the F Max set, I was surprised at how good they looked and his ball flight was so good. These look and sound golden. Forged and forgiveness is very desirable!
Great review of the Cobras…might have to check them out! Curated is a great resource…I’ve used it. The only downside is if you don’t buy clubs from them they will constantly contact you, bordering on harassment, asking if you need help with picking clubs, how’s the game, etc…like you’ve gained a new best friend you weren’t looking for…other than that, great.

Got these coming in the mail tomorrow. Got fitted for them as well and I'm excited to try them on the course. My R9 to 7 iron was going about 160 and overly spinning. During fitting averaged 183 and perfect spin with the tec x. These are big time sleepers in my opinion thus far.
I’m thinking as a 10 HCPer who hits my scoring irons really well, but need a little more distance, I’d try a combo set with the Forged Tec in the 8-PW and the Tec X in the 5-7 irons…they look great.

I have a feeling I know which clubs are going in the bag and I won't blame you. Not for me...but you hit them well. Nice job as usual sir. I had to add, I thought about getting one iron to test, but I just checked and man these things are pricey. I can't justify paying more than a Callaway Rogue or TM Stealth which I already invested in. I can't imagine they are more forgiving either. I always thought Cobra was a lower priced option....guess not.
I didn’t watch this video because I had hit a Forged Tec X 5i on the golf course. It produced the least amount of spin of any iron that I have ever hit in my 50+ years of playin/practicing golf. I hit a bunch of shots that landed within 10 feet of the cup only to have a 40 footer coming back. Having said that the FTX irons are beautiful and long and easy to hit well. The 4 or even the 5 iron would make a great driving iron for mid handicaps.

@Valley Adventures that will probably work best. Once I get all my clubs in I will do a gapping session with club champion. I can let you know how they adjust them.

I felt the same about the PXG 0211 DC also. I didn't care for the feel of them, so I've moved on and looking at these or the TM Stealth. I do like the look of these better.
I tried theses at my local golf store and was quite surprised that they felt like mizuno irons and so easy to hit. I’m currently using Apex 21 irons and thought the cobra irons had a better feel.

Gabe, love all your reviews…I was wondering if you had plans to review the Cobra Air X irons. I just bout these after trading in my Cobra RadSpeeds. I only hit the 7 Iron on the range, but man was it easy to hit high. Thats something I struggled with the RadSpeeds. The Air X has more traditional lofts. Just wondered what you thought of them!
Great video Gabe...But for Cobra to say they have new irons and teecnology and then make a 7 iron with 27 deg loft.. is not new to me...My Hogan 7 is @ 34 and My Wilsons are @ 35... Does not make any sence to me to call a 7 iron 27 when most 5 irons are 27...Thanks but no thanks on Cobra....
I think that is the difference with these new clubs.. less loft higher launch angle gets you the same stopping power. I am also struggling with this concept.
I need the distance but strong lofted clubs give me a hard time holding a green. I have a set of maverk standards collecting dust in my garage. I need a set of clubs no stronger than a °30 7 but will give me a few yards more. I'm 69 years old but athletic.
Agreed, I tried these irons out and even with an 84mph 6 iron swing speed I had trouble with trajectory and spin. 8-PW were fine however those long irons were an issue. I thought the KBS Tour Lite shafts would help with that but sadly it was not the case. I really wanted to like these irons because the sound and feel were great. I know manufacturers are selling clubs based on launch monitor numbers and most players deliver a lot of dynamic loft but I think most players would benefit from more loft. I ended up going with the Ping i525s great launch and feel.
I’d look for a fitting at a nearby course and hit clubs on the actual turf. Perfect lie in a fitting cage inside doesn’t give you the real feel of the club.
@@nikmc7539 I’m not sure about Randy but I did in fact put these irons into play. Wanted to love them but not for me. The bounce on the Ping i525 long irons really make them very playable.
5.....I'd say they are fairly similar maybe slight edge to TM. The regular Forged Tec model feels better than the X though and even better than P790s .

Me and the graphite Recoil 95 shafts aren't getting along for some reason, so Edwin Watts is allowing me to trade them back in for something else. Odd I know. Enjoy your videos. Not sure if they classify the normal Forged Tec as "game improvement"...think they're classified as "players distance". The Forged Tec X is definitely more "game improvement" due to slightly more off-set than the Forged Tec.
These are the ones i was really looking at , but im more in the beginner, high handicapped, but want a club to grow with, would you suggest this club ?
How much thicker are they compared to the ST Pros? I have the ST Pros and love them, but let's be honest we all could use a bit more forgiveness. I just love the workability and slight forgiveness of the STs. Always looking for another set of irons though. 😏
I don't understand the idea of strong lofts. If you want to hit a 5 iron, just hit a normal 5 iron. Why call it a 7 iron? Is there any reason other than just ego?
I believe, that the strong lofts are used now because the addition of tungsten weighting. You’ll still get the 5 iron trajectory but also a bit more distance. I still prefer and play muscle back blades that are traditional lofts.
@@anttisavolainen547 I too am a below average golfer. I still don't understand how mislabeling a 5 iron as a 7 iron helps anybody with anything. The beginner should just hit a 5 iron if that's the distance they need.
If you want forgiveness and distance with some surprising spin control - Wilson Launch pads. IF only our egos could get over the thick top line and humongous cavity back.
So my thoughts based on all the videos I have watched and maybe the swing was better that day but the Takomos were by far the best performing irons followed closely by the Cobra Forged Tec X. You were hitting tye Takomos ona string and distance seemed to be better with those than the Forged Tec X as well.

The Rogue is sweet. This year I really loved the STZ220 and Tour Edge Exotics c722 as well.

Alan you are right. Iron prices are going thru the roof. It’s one sticking point I’ll definitely address during this week’s reveal.

I went forge tec in my PW - 7i and then forge tec X in my 4-6 for added forgiveness. Absolutely love these clubs.

Slightly thicker, maybe 1-2mm if I remember right.

I don't know if you've tried the 2020-2021 Forged Tec's. I think they feel as good as any iron I've ever hit.
Must agree just bagged a new myself coming from apex 19 and the difference in feel and dispersion is so much better with the cobras.

Yes they are very similar in performance, but I think feel is better with these. Stealth very good for a cast club but these are better.

I have the first gen forged tec and it's awesome. Great feel and forgiveness. I don't miss my Mizunos at all (they are overrated anyway)
