We of course have detailed reviews for the majority of them right here on the channel, as well as written guides and comparisons, but today I thought it would be interesting to run through all the wheels we have here in the studio and give you a quick review and comparison of each of them.

Quick correction on the Simucube wireless system. It supports 28 digital inputs. Not 24. Lots of things to pack into such a short video. Sorry for the error!

@@spiyder I'm leaning that direction, but disappointed that they charge so much for the 8N*m upgrade. Makes me consider spending just that little bit more to get the Simagic alpha mini.

I really like those Fanatec Porsche Wheels. I wish Fanatec would consider to sell directly in Asian market (outside Japan) too in the future. We are stuck here with Logitech G29 and Thrustmaster T300 rs gt, unless you buy from resellers. Btw, I really like watching your racing videos. Your setup seems real 😂
Thanks for your attention to thumb encoders Will. A lot of people have issues with the thumb encoders on Fanatec wheels not being responsive enough, is that a valid concern in your opinion? From what I've read they haven't improved over time. I'm waiting to buy a new wheel, but am after Ascher build quality with thumb encoders, I guess Cube Controls is the closest of the lot.
It bothered me when I very first received the formula V2 years ago, but I got used to it quickly snd it hasn’t bothered me since. I treat it as “one flick = 1 adjustment” rather than one click.
I use it for Brake Bias and it is very annoying for me. If I want to make fast changes it just doesn't register a lot of clicks and if I want to make small adjustments it is too light. I think it is the biggest problem with the formula V2
You're such a nice guy for helping so many members of the simracing community out. I forgot to use your link when I preordered the CLS DD last month (to me 349 euro is a lot of money and was just too nervous to think about it) but will def help your channel out when I am gonna order the WCR (or McLaren GT3, haven't made up my mind, which one should you advice?) wheel and CLS pedals in about 2 weeks. Thanks a lot for the kind words and support mate. The McLaren is the “better” wheel but the WRC is the more versatile. Ultimately comes down to what you’ll spend the most time driving.
@@boostedmedia Thanks for your quick reply, appreciate it. I don't do rally or drifting games, so the McLaren wheel should be enough. The only thing I am worried about is the feeling of the FFB. I've ordered the 5NM pack and if I'm not misstaken the weight of both wheels are the same, but is the feeling different in the Gt3 wheel than the round WCR? Sorry for the questions.
No you’ll be fine with it at 5nm.

Somehow you always have such an incredible timing with these videos for me, few days ago I was wondering if I should get that momo rim (been eyeing it since I first saw it in your videos) or the fanatec formula.. and here we go, I'm definitely getting that momo rim to replace my r330 and hopefully later the formula.

The Simucube wireless is limited to 28 inputs not 24 (think F28-SC). The STD24 has 24 (if you get 2x funky switches) but you can also get the two Sparco P310 buttons wired up if you go with that wheel for a total of 26.

Is there a way to make the appearance of a steering wheel match the physical wheel being used? Would like to go to a VR setup but would like the buttons and encoders on the physical wheel show up in the VR view.

There’s a round wheel ice seen a few screenshots of that people have been using at Fanatec sponsored esports comps. No info beyond that yet though. Looks like it’s probably the go.
@@boostedmedia indeed, I've noticed that wheel too. As a matter of fact, few months ago I actually asked them if they had any plans for having that on sale and the following was their answer:
"The "320mm Wheel Rim" that has been used during the event was a special design for Monza.

Boosted, please help! TLDR: Price no object top Fanatec DD2 Podium compatible GT wheel (305mm - 320mm).
I'm looking for a GT wheel compatible with the Fanatec Podium DD2. A built in screen would be nice but isn't mandatory. GSI looks incredible. I really would like wireless and seamlessly working with Fanalab with as many mappable dials and buttons where the button caps don't fall off constantly.
Have you used the ring f1 wheel and what's your thoughts I'm edging towards the games gsi wheel but would like to see thoughts on the rexing f1 wheel.
Genuine question, what is the point of a wireless wheel? Isn’t it more inconvenient having to worry about charging something that isn’t really meant to be mobile anyways?

it has to be wireless because the wheelbase has no connection on it for the buttons. It's not wireless for convenience purposes, but rather that that's the only "universal" connection method that works regardless of what wheelbase you have. There are wired options out there that use a coiled "headphone" cable, but that is really annoying if you have a DD wheel with infinite rotation. The cable gets wrapped around the wheel after a while....
@@Uninfluenceable I see, so in theory you would only depend on the base being able to work independently of it having a wheel connected to it or not. Thank you for the explanation, it didn’t make sense to me as a Logitech pleb lol
Wireless means not having to deal with bent connector pins (Fanatec) or with ripped cables (regular USB connections). The batteries are just $3 watch batteries and they last a really long time - I am still on my first battery for both my SimCore button box and my SimLine button box. The thing you lose is inputs but IMHO it is well worth it.

im alittel low on money .. i think the f1 fanatec would be the way to go if i want a good over all wheel .. ? maybe later sometime i can afford another wheel .. but i think driving gt3 cars with the f1 wheel is okay too right ?

I have 2 questions if anyone can help.
1. So, do you think a simucube setup is better than Fanatec Podium?
The Podium originally appealed to me because it's compatible with PS4 and PC and at the time I only had a PS4, but now I've had a PC built.
2. If using a Fanatec DD Podium on a PS4, what pedals would run with it? I haven't heard of Heusinkveld pedals being used on PS4, so what would be used.
Sure. We have dedicated videos where we directly compared Simucube to Fanatec Podium. Both have strengths and weaknesses. Fanatec had the better ecosystem IMO. Simucube has smoother FFB although the gap is closing.
For question 2 you’ll need to use Fanatec pedals.

The pedals is a let down, because I don't think Fanatec have a good set, or at least not as good as pedals that are compatible with the use of the simucube.

Just had a question if you will be reviewing a unit of the F1 2021 rim from fanatec. Been searching one for a while but seems like people haven't really had their hands on with it.
They didn’t send out any review units, only sent them to a few influencers. It’s basically the same wheel as last year, just different colours. Here’s our review of the 2020 version:

Hey just a little question, Is the Porsche 911 GTR R wheel compatible with the upcoming QR2 system? Would be a waste of money to buy now if it isn't.
To the best of my knowledge every wheel that has an interchangeable QR (bolts on outside) will be.

At the moment the Fanatec Podium F1 pack and Fanatec V3 pedals with the performance kit.
I was really hoping you guys would show the Logitech wheels and compare them to the higher quality wheels.
