    This setup looks hard to beat value for money wise. The guys at Moza seem to be on to the start of something really great here. Competition in the market is always a good thing for us consumers. Thanks for another great in-depth review Will!

    • @JP-xd6fm
      @JP-xd6fm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really don't get why simracers aren't all only on PC!
      My last console was the ps4 and I'm not planning to get any other ever since I have a computer wich is more expensive to buy but I'll say is cheaper on the long run for 2 reasons:
      Game prices are much better
      Pc can be used for many other things
      So for me PC has way more sense than a playstattion/xbox.
      Also you can always start with a kind of a minimum specs and going upgrading the pc.

    • @pasteghost428
      @pasteghost428 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah. We all know PC master race is a thing. You know some folks just can't afford a proper PC rig + descent sim set-up. Hey we do what we can with what we got for what we want. Amirite?

    • @JP-xd6fm
      @JP-xd6fm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pasteghost428 With 1000€ you can get a computer for simracing. And as I said games are cheaper and with a PC you can work, study etc..
      That's also the great thing of pc, you can build one for your needs/budget.

    • @pasteghost428
      @pasteghost428 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JP-xd6fm oh yeah, preaching to the choir. I wholeheartedly recommend anyone who can't afford a quality PC setup, to buy one piece at a time whatever you can spend each time and build it yourself. It's easier than ever thanks to improvements in the hardware. That said, even that can be difficult to manage for people living at the poverty level. Then there's those underage guys and gals who have to convince parents to shell out a large chunk of change all at once. Maybe they would only buy that console 1 year. Then next year, get them to buy wheel and pedals

    • @JP-xd6fm
      @JP-xd6fm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pasteghost428 Dude if you're at poverty level you shouldn't buy a PC or a console.
      And if you're a kid younger than the legal age for work and get a salary then you should study instead of gaming.
      A fricking console cost 500€ if you find one and, is not better to save up a little and get a PC?, even if it takes a year?, yes imo, because I say again you can work with a pc, you can make excel sheets, etc.. is just better.
      To not talk about the people that spends a lot of money in their cellphone, I rather save that money and have a normal phone and put it into the build of the PC.

    Please do a review on CAMMUS racing gear. Their 15nm wheelbase for 500$ and full 15nm base + wheel + 3 loadcell pedals bundle for 800$ seems amazing.
    It looks to me like it's the better alternative to Moza since I don't mind the bad buttons on the wheel, but I'll be waiting for your review on it.

    Moza is the Go👍 , fanatec is just not as good 😑 😒, waited 4months for the csl Dd order, then the pin broke after 6months on me🤦. Definitely going to purchase Moza, the realese system mechanics is so much easier with me not panicking that the pin may broke.

  • @arielcor7392
    @arielcor7392 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Surely it is very easy to implement a USB connection in these MOZA wheels for users of other bases, but I think that taking into account that there are waiting times due to lack of stock, they have been very intelligent in maintaining that stock for users of the brand. If these steering wheels could be used with any base, there would be a lack of stock for users or buyers of MOZA bases, which would be counterproductive for the brand.

      @peadookie ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, I'm looking at my first DD and Fana's unwillingness to update their product line is truthfully steering away a customer. I love how complete their ecosystem is, but QR2 being an e ample, they drag their heels on any innovation and the competition (such as Moza) has caught up and surpassed them _at a lower price_.

    Offering the button box only is exactly what I'd like to see MOZA do on that CS wheel rim.
    The R9 v1 owners got left behind on the Formula rim conversion, the v1 base being incompatible with the ES wheel which is used as the donor button box for the v2 conversion.
    Acelith offers an F1 style wheel frame for R9 v1 and v2 owners interested in converting using the original CS button box.

Like how is it i can get a controller for 70 bucks but a steering wheel is at least 200+ for a decent one. I realize thoug that its gonna cost more than your avg controller but 1000 bucks for a wheel seems wild when you can get an r9 bundle for that.

    It's nice but I hate it when any racing wheel (from fanatec, moza...) has a lack in buttons like here. It's not that hard to make more buttons. Like for example the Moza R5 wheel has a nice amount of buttons.

  • @alec7568
    @alec7568 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just bought one of these along with one of their formula wheels and an r9 base.
    I'm not bothered about having less functionality in terms of buttons because I'd use a wheel rim like that for cars that don't need all the fancy buttons. I also bought the formula wheel so I would have all that functionality for cars that do use all the fancy buttons.
    Though I suppose there must be loads of people that would want to save some money by getting just the one more expensive wheel rim with all the functionality
    I'm wondering if the vibration from the shifters is happening because of resonant frequency. It'll be interesting to use

    This is just a message to let you know the MOZA Racing is a total nightmare if you have any issues with their products. I bought an R9 base and a Formula one wheel and both of these products came with an important number of issues. After weeks of talking to their support, which it is deplorable, I'm probably force to re-start the dispute with the help of my bank in order to get part of the money they want to keep.
    You really don't want to deal with people like this.
    They are just doing whatever the want and deciding what to pay me back. I'm looking for the possibility of putting a legal complaint agains this company. Will be talking to my bank and will be looking to my rights on this situation to make sure I do what I can to get the full reimbursement of my initial order which they informed me is not going to be the case.
    So please, in order to save you from getting into this hell, stay away from this company. If anyone wants to get more details or even have a call with me I will be more than happy to explain the full story I'm going through with this organization.

    Does it matter what wheel you use? Aside from the pleasing aesthetics of having a wheel that matches what the real racers use, does it really matter if, for example, you use a normal wheel for Formula racing? If so, why?
    So many reviews of products without any information on what really matters. Many of us will only be prepared to buy one expensive wheel, so this stuff matters

    • @exci6198
      @exci6198 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My intermediate racer take: 320mm wheels are good for having nice fine-grained control in many classes like GT3 but in open-wheelers you often make quicker, jerkier movements (more so the closer you get to F1 cars). A smaller, lighter wheel at 285-300mm is easier to turn left and right more quickly. 300mm is what many people would consider the sweet spot for covering the biggest range of cars. If you meant the shape of the wheel, no, driving formula with a round wheel won't be an issue. Maybe just that it will cover a bit of your dashboard if you're sitting low.

    • @imanny99
      @imanny99 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the other hand, using a formula wheel for drifting or rally will be a bit harder. That's why for the most part a round wheel is preferred if you're doing multiple driving disciplines, and like Exci says, 300mm is the sweet spot between the 280mm of most formula and prototype rims, and the 320mm of others.
