Horizontal timber should be slotted at the rear for any moisture to run vertically down.

If you are fixing boards vertically, you should have a batten fixed vertically first then one horizontal fto form a air gap, vented at bottom and top. Unless you have cut out the backs of all the battens you have fixed on, I very much doubt it. Also if you are promoting something, shaully you shout be at least wearing safety glasses!

Just nail flat don’t punch or countersink nails on cedar. It creates the need for fillers not consistent with the texture of the siding.

Tut ..tut stainless nails are not ideal when fired from a gun , the stainless will rust from the head .
