Great video you guys, i appreciate it. I loved how you kept it simple and easy to follow for us nonmajor off roaders. I just bought me my 2023 Wrangler "WILLYS" edition 4Xe and I love it. Im really impressed at the range the battery is now giving me. I have not used that much gas except when passing other vehicles/trucks. Keep up the great work and have fun.
Hey thanks a lot, really appreciate that! Also, congrats on the new Wrangler Willys 4xe!! The Willys is a fantastic trim level, great value and capability. Yeah we love the 4xe platform, I like a lot of people was a little skeptical at first but I was quickly won over by instant torque and the fact that I can go basically the entire week on practically just using electronic for my daily commute, dog park/grocerie runs and the only time we really use gas is for some of our bigger trips on the weekend. Glad your also enjoying it and hope your Jeep brings you many smiles and adventures for years to come! We're still pretty new to off roading ourselves, I've always followed it closely but we still got a lot to learn. Hopefully if we keep at it, that'll come sooner than later and it be great if we could share that experience with others who maybe aren't able to, or are just curious about offroading from a newer couples perspective. That's the goal anyway :)
Hi there friends from Colorado, can the electrical engine charge the battery when you going steep downhill ? And does the electrical engine helps braking going down ? Has the Jeep 4xe a "hill descent control" , a computer (which gets info from the ABS sensors) that keeps a low speed descending by applying the brakes ? If youre descending a steep hill, which gear of the automatic transmission do you choose ? Just wondering, because my Mitsubishi Pajero has a 4 gear automatic, no hill descend sysytem , and a low gear ratio only 2:1 , so even if you use first gear descending, I always have to apply the brakes, which can be tricky. The Rubicon has much lower ratio 4:1 , if I am right, so you do not have that problem, I presume.....
Hey again! So let's see here, yeah the 4xe has regen braking and I love it! It's not as strong as most EVs or even the grand cherokee 4xe for that matter (thats my wife's vehicle), but I don't think I could go back to a normal ICE vehicle without missing the regen braking. Going down steep mountains is awesome in the 4xe as I almost always gain most of the battery charge back, also it helps by being what feels like extra breaking to rely on and help keep you making a safe slow decent. The Jeep does have its own hill decent control, but it can also be used for ascent or even rock crawling as it will being the vehicle to a nice controlled .6mph page which can be increased in increments of .6 I believe. So that's like .97 km/h. It feels extremely controlled and is a really nifty tool that I find myself using mostly for fun but occasionally on very steep decents where I really do want that fine control or when rock crawling and I don't want to go to fast and risk damaging something. The 4.10 gear ratio has a lot to do with the controlled speed and aggressive torque that makes it possible.
Great job Leslie!!! 🎉
