@@bestofalllife I do 1000km in my current car without refueling. That's why. Here, you have another car with max 500km in city driving and 300km on highway (even less if you look at 80% charging rule and we talk about perfect conditions, imagine range on highway with low temps, with extra roof box and 2 bicycles on the back and entire family inside - that's what I do quite often ) . They are great for city driving for sure, but that's not enough for me. If range goes like 2x or more comparing to what we have these days then I'm jumping in.

Thomas, while you are with VW high level management , can you please tell them that the second and third row seats of Buzz Long Wheelbase versions need to be removable just like T7.
And that we need three independent seats with ISOFIX on the second raw, like the Sharan and Touran. Not sure which master brain designs lately the cars at the VW group…
I do like the Buzz a lot, I think VW have done a great job with it. One MAJOR problem, I cannot believe that they did not replicate the rear seat/cargo area from the T7 Multivan with the alloy seat runners allowing for part or full removal of the seats. The rear interior packaging and flexibility of the Buzz is a fail as a consequence. Thanks Thomas, enjoyed the video and your in depth information. Long live the Kombi. Greetings from Australia.
This is going to come later and is also going to be part of the longer version from the start. They are doing that to save costs while ramping production and while I don't like it they sold almost the complete stock for this year before today's videos even came out.
This car as a camper would be the dream adventure car for me. I would pick the green and white combination with the same interior, just has something about it. Love that it is completely animal free too. Impressed with the range as well. A bit pricy but worth the money for the looks and nostalgia in my opinion. I feel round taillights would be a bit too much for me, so like it as it is. By the way, great to see you in my local area of Copenhagen, Thomas. Loved that bit of Danish too. Hope you enjoyed. Thank you for another great review. Auf Wiedersehen aus Kopenhagen!
How can it be an ideal adventure car? It's way smaller than the normal VW campervan, it's basically just as big as an older Ford Galaxy. Also, i can't really understand how a plastic interior can be better than real leather interior, since real leather lasts almost indefinitely, while plastic is...well, damn plastic. And no, contrary to what he says in the video, most plastic is not recycled.
Great review as always. Thank you. I love this car - I love that they are doing something different and bold. I really hope its a success for them. Also - your danish accent is pretty good Thomas :)
definitely looks very nice, better than most SUVs on the road. Comfortable? Yes. High overview and small hood = excellent visibility. P.S. I'd be surprised if there is a car salesperson (in USA) that knows and shows more about the car than Autogefuhl. It should be a mandatory training video for salespeople.
I like the two color option. To me cargo set up is as important as passenger set up so folding/removable rear seats are important. Round headlights would have better matched the old vans but these look good. I am having trouble imagining how round headlights would look on this. I would like to see the shorter one here in the US. Does the multiflex board support the weight of a person crawling / laying on it?
I'm reading conflicting reports as to whether the seats will be removable. The 5 passenger SWB van that's on the market right now, the seats look to be fixed, and they are using that board thing to make a flat load floor. Odd design since the gas powered VW van has the rail system that lets you rotate and remove the seats, and works very well. I hope the US market LWB 3 row van has the rail system, because removing the seats to fit cargo is a better solution that that awkward and height robbing board system they are showing.
Best reviews on yt, that's for sure. Thank you. Buzz will the most beautiful, small camper ever for short local journeys and or winter. Unfortunately it doesn't cut it for bigger adventures. For that reason I choose sprinter L2 h2.

Yesss Thomas, Round lights with all the led matrix tech is the prefect light for the look! Now for the price. Eeeek. Hope they get a bigger battery for the lwb, it needs longer range here in America where the charging network is rather awful.
Autogefühl at Amager Strand in Denmark! So cool to see. Hope you got a chance to enjoy Copenhagen as well as the ID Buzz. Can't wait for the camper versions of the Buzz...
More and more I start to wonder why many cars have prominent buttons for drive modes. Who changes drive mode (that often) than you need a dedicated button for it? I think it's something that could easily be put in a submenu, so the button can be dedicated to a more useful functionality.
I appreciate what they did with the headlights. Round headlights would make it look like its was trying to mimic the type 1 microbus too much. Now, the ID Buzz is its own car, with its own design, albeit with some clear flirting back to the original. That's my take at least!
This actually looks quite good and even something I'd consider using for my work where I drive 20,000+ miles per yer BUT the VW software is so incredibly bad. I currently have a 2021 VW T-Roc and today the Android Auto just stopped working for no reason for about 90 minutes, then randomly started up again. It does that a lot, and its incredibly irritating. Until VW really sorts out its terrible software, there's no way I would consider getting another one
The best review so far! Thanks. Shame there are no more cool family cars! Those with a 3 or 4 kids, there are no more cars in Europe that can cater for them.
What I’d like more than round headlights is better ventilation in the back. Roll-down windows in the sliding doors and/or vented windows in the back would be helpful; even better would be air vents for heat/air conditioning. Some other reviewers have pointed out this lack of air flow in the back, and I really hope this situation is improved for the US market (especially since it’ll be even bigger and will have even more ventilation needs).
He never even mentions that the rear windows can’t be moved. Like it’s normal or something when not a single other manufacturer sells a single model like that.
Great video Thomas! I still don‘t understand why there will be no 7 seater for the short wheelbase. You can get a touran with seven seats. Six seats is not very practical imo
I like the blue/white and mint/white combinations. I'm not surprised it's the same length to EV6/Ionic 5. They have more rear legroom than this from the reviews I've seen.
Yes round headlights for me. It would make it look even more timeless rather than trendy. The interior is almost perfect and also timeless except for the steering wheel. But that front lower air intake design is the very first thing i would change, its just awful and doesnt match the rest of the car. Lastly, it would be nice to have more color choices, and also not just white for the upper portion.
When you live next to the beach in California, you go for the fun colors. I wouldn’t call it screaming out colors. The subtle combinations work well for the weather in Germany.
The only thing I'm missing for ID. Buzz is a slightly better acceleration. I know, it's not what it's for, but it would be a nice bonus. Other than that, it seems amazing!

I don’t think VW even attempted to make this a retro looking Camper van thereby missed the opportunity to make it an instant success which is a real shame.
Round headlights - yes. And this thing needs T7 interior including rails and more power/towing - that it should receive. And as any VW of late - go back a generation on infotainment. Then it would be a perfect car 😍😍😍
Yes, pity they remained with the Infotainment Centre/Console. They had seen the people were not happy with it, via the ID 3, a long while back. Great looking car, but marred by the bad plasticaly Habtic buttons, and Infotainment Centre.

I don’t think VW even attempted to make this a retro looking Camper van thereby missed the opportunity to make it an instant success which is a real shame.
I want a Skoda Version with a proper interior. I hate the crappy touch controls!
Yes I would like to see a film of you walking into VW HQ and ask the designer what the F he was thinking not doing round lights
Teal and white is how I'd order my ID Buzz
Thomas i hope that the cargo version can be converted into a camper
Round headlights - yes.
And this thing needs T7 interior including rails and more power/towing - that it should receive.
And as any VW of late - go back a generation on infotainment.
Then it would be a perfect car 😍😍😍
My favorits are the yellow or green turquoise colors
Awesome video. more minivans please:) i sold my Cupra 300 to get a minivan 😄
I like the van and the burnt orange color.
orange everywhere combo for me :)
Yes, pity they remained with the Infotainment Centre/Console. They had seen the people were not happy with it, via the ID 3, a long while back. Great looking car, but marred by the bad plasticaly Habtic buttons, and Infotainment Centre.
Thomas why couldn't they put the charging at the front
