Lads, I told you, you can get some very nasty jealous people, and cars are a funny thing, to men they can be very covetous over cars. That to other people does not seem normal. It’s a bit like with pets. Don’t let horrible covetous people take away your peace. You have handled it well, up to now and tried to let it go over your head as much as you could . But, honestly don’t let other peoples problems become yours. Once you let go of either of those cars you will regret it. Because the price will shoot up, and if you take them to a show you would get an offer you couldn’t refuse. If that car was worth fighting for it’s worth hanging onto. Don’t let sour people sour your joy with any of your cars. You can’t change people, they are still going to be jealous and covetous, that’s their problem not yours. Honestly 10k would be a nice lift, but there is more financial gratification in the long run . Don’t let them just sit there - but let them stand there nicely polished and proud . You take your time, because Ecclesiastes says “In His time he makes all things beautiful ,” and I know that you can both turn them into a thing of beauty !
Your response to this situation guys has been full of grace and shows your watchers how to deal with disappointment and wrongdoing in life. Great leadership example!
Rob&Chris as an retired engineer and a fan of car repairs what ever you do and in what order you do it , it makes my day and brings back memories of when I was young so keep up the great work you both enjoy 😊
Keep doing exactly what you are doing Rob & Chris! The main charm of your channel is its realness and honesty, showing us how your business is running on a daily basis. You don’t owe any explanations to anyone! By far my favorite car channel on TH-cam. 🙏
These type of videos, as much as I appreciate you think its all waffle, are really informative and sometimes its not all about the mechanicals of the car. The legality stuff like with the Kentucky Lambo are all good lessons. Blinding. Keep it up.
Don’t let the Bastids grind you down lads. Rob, if it’s in your name now, you may as well have it in your collection and enjoy it as a genuine 2nd owner of a classic! Put it into storage for a while, let the bad feelings pass, and your interest and love for the car will be renewed, and you can then finish it and enjoy it!
I am sure I speak for many people here Rob. You and Chris are genuine honest hard working guys. Thats all that matters but sometimes we get these challenges from idiots. Keep strong, keep the channel going, we all love them.
Rob, don’t sell it, there will always be people who aren’t happy to see you doing well and the things you can achieve, don’t let haters put you off, make it a point to achieve your goals and don’t let’s others jealously put you off your hard work, fix it and add to you collection, after all you will have the last laugh when you sell in the future, keep up the great work you and Chris do, don’t give in to what people want you to do 👍
Rob hang on to the RS and give yourself time to get over all the upheaval. Don't let this type of people ruin your plans. You guys work hard and give lots enjoyment to others here on youtube. You will regret it if you get rid i'm sure. Hold on to it and fall in love if it again.
I like this channel because of how real you two are and you dont make a hour video out of changing a spark plug. Dont go too far into camera angle transitions and all off that, the reason your channels so popular is because your real guys and good talkers
I am an Essex boy by birth and my dad never owned anything but Ford so I like to see an RS, so shame to see RS2000 go. I also like the LSE, had a few LR products but would love a RR classic or a Defender. Keep up the good work gents.
If you have followed Salvage Rebuilds UK from the beginning like I have anyone will see that you boys are the most honest law abiding blokes in the business. End of!!! You boys are in my mind total legends...🙂
I think your balance between car guys & TH-camrs is about right. Your channel is the first one I open each day, please do not stop recording your activities. Best wishes from the land down under.
Don’t let the RS go, you’re going to regret it afterwards. Just push it back for some time, then get back to it when you again see it the gem it is. If after a year you still feel like selling it then sell it. Nothing to loose.
Ive had the same logbook shenanigans too. It just wastes everyone's time. Glad you resolved it. Looking forward to finding out the story on the Bently.
I don’t know what you did in the end, but I do hope you have kept this car. I came across this episode when my wife was in hospital and binge watching your content helped me through this episode in my life. Every car has a history and this episode is simply part of its history. You guys persevere in giving life back to cars, trucks and vans that others have given up on. Why let someone else enjoy the fruits of your endeavour, you deserve to enjoy this beautiful previously unloved car.
Good update Rob, know what you mean by being “done” with something. It’s good to see “real”life, you showed how you nearly got bitten with the copart Lambo & how the R/S has been grief, as I say good to see real life events. Keep it up lads 👍👍
Sorry to hear of the problems you have had with the rs but keep making the videos as there are a lot of genuine car nuts out there that really appreciate what you do. Thank you
Really glad you're planning on completing the Range Rover. I would be really interested in that once it is finished. You should have an auction of the vehicles you complete. Rob & Chris are top guys, totally honest and would be a pleasure to buy from.
Brilliant, glad it's all sorted on the RS 2000, even though it was a seriously bizarre outcome. Keep doing what you do Rob & Chris, a lot of people appreciate what you do and enjoy all the video's.
2 years ago I just used to watch the videos on classic or special cars, but now I watch them all. Great ad hoc presenting style, and I learn a lot. …..used to wonder , how to fix damage like some of your projects. Thanks for the updates. Keep up the great work.
Can’t believe it guys, you work hard to make ends meet and there’s always someone trying to defraud you. Sorry to hear that, Shame you can’t keep the car. Thanks for sharing the story, keep up the good work.
This is ridiculous rob. You & Chris could have done without this. You guys do a fabulous job. We love watching and love the work do. What is wrong with people. Don’t let this person put you off keep up the fantastic work you both do
its good to see you are keeping a positive outlook, i think you should keep the RS and enjoy it, its a cracking car and if you let it go you may kick your self later , get it finished take it for a spin then think on weather to keep it , thanks for content guys
Someone tried to do this to one of my motorbikes last year. it hadn't been out of my garage for over a year & was covered by blankets. Dvla wrote me a letter saying had I sold the vehicle as someone waa trying to register it. I phoned them up & said "NO" In the end they made me take photos of the frame ,engine numbers, number plate & the bike. In the end they said they would cancel the application. I said would anyone get in trouble for trying it on. They said it may have been a mistake. Very dodgy.
Love it guys. The honesty is real. Well played to the pair of you. The trolls are mad yous are live your best life. Top lads. Keep up the good work 🥇🏆👑
There are some real 'cnuts' out there. It's a crying shame that you've fallen out of love with your dream '80s car, but good on you for being the bigger man, and not naming and shaming; you're showing your true colours. We love all your videos. You owe us viewers nothing at all, and I'm gratefulf for every single video that you put out! Keep up the great work chaps.
Nice to have an in depth update. Well done for persevering with the log book debacle and not letting the See you next Tuesday grind you down. Great vid as always, thank you.
Don't rush that decision to move the RS2000 on. You're understandably frustrated right now, but take yourself back to when you first got it. Come back to it in a few months when you love it again. Don't regret letting it go.
Great update lads. I love the channel because you are car guys that do TH-cam. And that’s why people like watching two decent working blokes getting their hands dirty, entertaining us and making a living at the same time. Catch you on Wednesday for some more waffle and welding 👍👍
Rob, i reckon i’ve watched all of yours videos, u & Chris are 100% genuine blokes who enjoy working on cars, i reckon it’s sour grapes that the last owner couldn’t do what you did in a short space of time, u can do without having to deal with people like that.
Basically two people have tried to steal the car from you. Surely that’s enough for you to realise how special and desirable it is. Keep it, don’t give up on it!
Brill . I just love listening to you guys.. only asked once the other day about the range rover .. so thank you .. the old owner of the RS2000 was maybe thinking you would offer him money for that log book.. ass whole though....keep it up . Can't wait for the next vid
Thanks for the update on some of the cars standing around waiting for work. So sad that other people try to rip you off after selling the RS. Glad they never got away with it. Best wishes 🐕🐕 BB
There's always someone trying a swindle, think you need to hide the number plates, probably won't stop them but it'll make it harder, dont beat yourselves up over it you do a great job and all of us look forward to the videos
Sorry that you guys had to go through all this. I am impressed how you handled this. I truly appreciate your work ethic and seeing people taking advantage of your work. Please be encouraged by the support you get from your appreciative viewers.
So sad to hear of your feelings, they are such Great Cars..But I understand, may it find a worthy owner, always great to hear and see your Content, Paul
The RS2000 brought back some good memories and some very bad ones for me! Leased from new, our J reg had a much nicer steering wheel than yours. Ours was full leather with a large central airbag. Yours looks to have a plastic steering wheel. Is that original? Maybe ours was an optional extra factory or dealer upgrade? But the car was stolen for a full wheel job - all road wheels including the spare and our lovely steering wheel! Plus all our personal belongings were gone. The car was recovered the next day and rectified, brought back into service and ran its full 3 year leasing contract without missing a beat over very high mileage. But what I remember most was the driving experience, superb and unforgettable. A very balanced car particularly compared to what it replaced - our previous car was a Vauxhall Astra GTE 2.0 16v. The Astra was fantastic and possibly faster, but the steering had too little feel and the roadholding was no match for the Ford. Even though with the Ford we had to live with the poorly designed rear hatch - the guttering arrangements mean that if the hatch is wet, all the water falls in the boot when you open it. Doh !
Rob, I can understand your frustrations with the RS, god knows you’ve handled it better than I would. But, if you’ve got the room, sit on it for another month. I’d be feeling the same about getting shot, but we all know we regret getting shot of old fords down the line - it always happens! That is a rare motor in terms of originality. All the best to you both
Really shame you feel like you do about the RS, I think you will regret it if you move it on, when do you ever see them? I honestly think you should take a pace back, breathe and think again, it's a real gem. Love the videos
Great update 👍 Keep the RS2000 and throw in the back of the garage under a cover and bring it back out in 5 years as a summer runner, you found it and you deserve to enjoy it!
Wow shows how easy it can be try and change paperwork with a little info, glad you’re on it and managed to get some headway with it. Shame you’ve lost the heart in the car but I get why with palaver you’ve had.
Love the update on all the projects , unfortunately not everyone is as honest as u guys but please don't change as what you do is amazing. Love after all u have been through u are still positive
I can totally understand why you and Chris feel the way you do with this one Rob. As you say, ship it out and move on to the next one. Always love hearing about project updates - I’m always a watcher to the end of all your vids! You make it, I’ll watch it!
Hi Rob & Chris, I do feel for you guys . You put in all that hard work in ,and it’s not just killed it for you it’s ruined it for us all . I know what you’re saying about the Rs it’s a real shame your not finishing it . 👍🏻
Fair play chaps brilliant update and feel for you with what goes on in the Motortrade I'm in my 44th year and never cease to be amazed even been arrested and locked up.
So sorry Chris & Rob that you had to go through a very testing situation I'm happy you managed to sort it out & to be honest I would probably do the same as you are going to do & let it go as a project for someone else to finish thank you both for the update on the escort & the other projects wishing you both continued success as you definitely deserve it 👏👍
Sorry to hear this happened to you too. This happened to me in lockdown last year on a bmw 3 series. Four young roadmen come to view and took the number off the v5 sneakily whilst i let them view the car. They changed it the second they left and they did it because once they have the v5 they can get a key made at the dealer. I had a super bad gut feeling about the viewing so I took the battery out the boot and blocked it in. CCTV shows that they did come back for it in the night a few days later but luckily i took the battery out and blocked it in for 2 weeks while i got the locks and v5 sorted out. Spoke to the DLVA and police about it and apparently its becoming more common, so just be careful with your v5s when selling guys. As its an older car you should be okay on the key front i believe but just make sure you secure it while the v5 is being sorted out.
My Mrs wants me to scrap a 1996 Ford Fiesta Mk4 LX that I think can be saved. It needs some mechanical work but nothing serious, some sill welding (I have a full sill but don't know how to weld yet), full paintwork, updates to wiring and an interior update / restoration. I just can't seem to let it go, it's just such a lovely drive! What is it about these old Fords? Nothing more to say on the RS2000 except that it will be worth half as much as your Lambo in a couple of years! 😂
Guys, I'm so gutted for you - why is it always the good guys who end up in the crap when its nothing you guys have done, I love what you guys do & always look forward to Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 5pm....... You guys owe us nothing though, we all know you guys have so many projects on the go & there is always a good reason why you have not taken forward a project, and usually those reasons make the next video so much better. Keep up the stunning work guys, can't wait for the next video - Gotta say its my favourite TH-cam channel!!
Rob & Chris nice of you 2 to be honest with us all but think your be MAD to sell the RS2000 its only going up in value don't let it get you down plz keep it & as for the range rover don't sell that is a defo a keeper 👍🏽 👌🏽🤞🏼
There are some really sad people around, don't let the buggers get you down! Thanks for the update and you must do what feels right but it is a shame you are not going to keep the Escort. Looks like the Bentley will be an interesting story, though.
Rob, keep it and reap the benefits mate! That’s a very rare car and would sell in a jiffy for good money. Don’t make any knee jerk decisions! 👍 Thank you for the update!
Think you should keep the escort and put it in your collection as it would be something I would think you would get a lot of enjoyment out of! Don't let a few problems put you off it as it would be a shame to let it go as they are very rare to get hold of now! Great update and looking forward to the next installment of the work been done! Stay safe Chris and Rob
I think it makes sense to move the LSE on for the right price since the space would be useful and Chris has enough hobby work on with the Viva and his Dad's Morris. I can understand why you don't need stress but maybe put the Escort out of sight into good dry offsite storage for a while - it won't go down in value and with time you might get enthusiastic about it again. Best to get on and shift what you can so you don't end up with a cluttered yard.
I love the way you guys do business. Honesty, integrity, fairness and a great work-life balance. Totally understand about the RS 2000. Sometimes you just go past things and it's best to turn the page on them.
Reference the ECU on the Bentley.Sometimes people remove the fuse for the OBD to stop communication to diagnostics to hide problems.Definitely need the help of a competent Auto Electrician
Great attitude in what has clearly been a very frustrating set of circumstances which have been beyond your control. Hopefully something better will turn up for you to add to your car collection.
People are right arseholes, they just hate he fact that you do the things like registering it properly etc You and Chris are both positive and that’s the best thing. Previous owner won’t give you the v5, unbelievable. Breath taking audacity tbh
Been watching your videos for a while now and never left a comment but I understand that feeling unfortunately there are people out there like that and I'm glad you are positive about any situation keep up the good work both of you you bring a lot of joy into people's life's with these videos and especially younger generations your definitely two people to look up to🙏🏻
Hi Rob and Chris, I’ve never before commented on any social media post (ever) but listening to you guys tonight has made me want to reach out. All I would say is don’t let them win. The RS is a fantastic example and you would be foolish to let it go over something someone else has tried to do. You have done nothing wrong and you deserve that car. Yes the addition of a second keeper is a shame but equally it is the right thing to do of you were going to keep it in your collection anyway. My advice as a 55 year old car fanatic is to get it finished, put it in your garage and keep it. There is no need to do another feature on it if you don’t want to as this is a private matter for you but I can assure you that, from bitter experience, you will regret it at some point if you do sell it. Even if you can’t see that now please don’t rush into anything so even if you don’t feel like it just put it away in your garage and see how you feel about it in a few months. If you feel the same way then maybe think about it then but I am confident you will feel better about it and will love that car. It’s definitely a bit of you!! 99.9% of your subscribers are genuine fans and I’m sure the majority feel the same way. Don’t let the actions of a lone individual win. We love the channel and you deserve to have the RS in your life so keep it - even if it’s because of us at the moment. Keep up the good work - you have no idea how much support you guys have got out there and don’t let the actions of a complete idiot spoil the excitement of the RS for you. If you don’t believe me watch your own films back and pause on the ‘will it run’ video where your excitement when it started was a joy to watch. Take care guys and see you in the next one!! Nick in Dorset
I don’t know if you have seen any comments of me before but to put you in the picture I have incurable terminal cancer and being in that situation make you look at life in general a bit differently you appreciate the small things in life a whole lot more and equally get down when people act dishonestly like the guy who registered your escort in his name he obviously watches the channel and must have a chip on his shoulder to do that to you and Chris maybe he dosnt like to see people doing well for themselves through honest hard graft so decided to try and get one over you which he failed spectacularly, I hope the police throw the book at him for his small minded pettiness but glad you got it sorted but sometimes I despair at how petty and horrible some people can be just because he’s got a chip on his shoulder about something unimportant what a moby, keep up the great work lads I always look forward to watching them especially when I am bed ridden which has been a lot recently it brightens my day up watching you two doing such a fantastic job on everything you put your hands too 👍
I’ve been watching your channel for “years” now and I I’m always amazed how positive you are even when we can see they you’re seriously Pi@@ed off. I’m really pleased the channel is going from strength to strength for you and Chris
Please don't make a hasty decision with the RS2000, as much as you are understandably fed up with it right now your feelings towards it will change again, you will never get the opportunity to buy a similar car like this again as they simply aren't around.
I feel for you guys on the Escort. It's horrible when some unfortunate soul tries to mess with you but it's understandable to move it on. Regardless of other people, you keep up the fantastic work you do and we'll be here supporting 🙂👍🏻
Think when you and Chris are as honest as the day is long, it hits you harder when other people aren’t honest.
They're as honest as the day is long
The longer the daylight, the less they do wrong
… Now pass the wrench and don't blame me
Just close your eyes and count to three
(One, two, three)
Then they'll be gone and you'll forget
The broken wiper , socket set
You just saved me a comment 🙂
Was going to say the same
So ture

I guess honest is the best policy. Regardless how everyone is. Keep up the good work.
That's a very classy response to a lot of unnecessary hassle about the RS2000. Fair play to you both.
Your response to this situation guys has been full of grace and shows your watchers how to deal with disappointment and wrongdoing in life. Great leadership example!
So true, I would have lost the plot guy's, even more respect guy's.
Rob&Chris as an retired engineer and a fan of car repairs what ever you do and in what order you do it , it makes my day and brings back memories of when I was young so keep up the great work you both enjoy 😊
You’ve dealt with this with absolute dignity lads. Nasty situation and you’ve still come out looking good. Well done. Onwards and upwards 👍🏻
Brilliant video and thanks for the update guys,
Rob, you should definitely keep the RS 2000, Dont let nasty people cloud your judgment.
Keep doing exactly what you are doing Rob & Chris!
The main charm of your channel is its realness and honesty, showing us how your business is running on a daily basis.
You don’t owe any explanations to anyone!
By far my favorite car channel on TH-cam. 🙏
Keep your chin up lads. It's a crying shame that there are such petty people in the world. God bless and keep on salvaging!

Previous owner is a right piece of work evidently. Was happy to take your money when it suited…..
Pleasure to have assisted with getting the V5 sorted for you, Rob & Chris. Great video as per usual.
I like this channel because of how real you two are and you dont make a hour video out of changing a spark plug. Dont go too far into camera angle transitions and all off that, the reason your channels so popular is because your real guys and good talkers

Really love the Mark 5 escorts, even the ones with the troublesome CVH engines. Lovely to drive.
If you have followed Salvage Rebuilds UK from the beginning like I have anyone will see that you boys are the most honest law abiding blokes in the business. End of!!! You boys are in my mind total legends...🙂
Love your outlook Rob - The motor is not even worth a second thought. Keep positive lads, thats what keeps people tuning in.
What a frustrating time! I'd hide all registration numbers vins etc on any future cars. Keep up the good work.
I think your balance between car guys & TH-camrs is about right. Your channel is the first one I open each day, please do not stop recording your activities. Best wishes from the land down under.

Bentley being a stubborn chap! Interested to find out what the issue is in the end.
Thanks for the update.
I wonder if the last keeper had anything to do with the dodgy V5 application?
I’m glad 🙂 you got everything sorted but selling it might be something you regret when you come get over all the stress.
Nice to have an in depth update. Well done for persevering with the log book debacle and not letting the See you next Tuesday grind you down. Great vid as always, thank you.
Really informative video guys and not boring at all, hopefully you’ll sell the Escort for a shed load of profit to make up for all the aggro ! 😉
Rob you and Chris are as honest as the day is long and that is why so many people support you. Well done

Rob, i reckon i’ve watched all of yours videos, u & Chris are 100% genuine blokes who enjoy working on cars,

Keep up the honesty guys you deserve to do well. Great content with DVLA.
Yup he has the V5 now so it’s his properly .
Rob, I didn’t want an update on the Bentley or the Range Rover. I want one on how Chris is getting on with his New Mower please. 😆😆😁👍👍👍🇬🇧
Absolutely down to earth guys you two are , video content is quality. Keep up the good work
Glad to see everyone smiling and keep up with the channel.
On the bright side , the RS2000 is looking good though, give it time before you sell it incase you change your mind
Sorry that you guys had to go through all this. I am impressed how you handled this. I truly appreciate your work ethic and seeing people taking advantage of your work.
Please be encouraged by the support you get from your appreciative viewers.
What a shame. That previous owner must be a nasty piece of work. Totally unnecessary to treat you like this. Glad for the updates. 👍
So sad to hear of your feelings, they are such Great Cars..But I understand, may it find a worthy owner, always great to hear and see your Content, Paul
So the rs2000 was a major headache but would have been nice for you and Chris to take it to a finish, will be a lovely car when finished
great that you got it resolved and moved on
also great to see Chris working away in the background😉
Doh !
Stunning video showing both your honesty & caring guys u are unlike some idiots, keep up the great work love the long videos & the best channel on here
Rob, I can understand your frustrations with the RS, god knows you’ve handled it better than I would. But, if you’ve got the room, sit on it for another month. I’d be feeling the same about getting shot, but we all know we regret getting shot of old fords down the line - it always happens! That is a rare motor in terms of originality. All the best to you both
Love the fact your car guys and not just for content people and exactly why we love you so much!
Really shame you feel like you do about the RS, I think you will regret it if you move it on, when do you ever see them? I honestly think you should take a pace back, breathe and think again, it's a real gem. Love the videos
Great update 👍
Keep the RS2000 and throw in the back of the garage under a cover and bring it back out in 5 years as a summer runner, you found it and you deserve to enjoy it!
I wonder if the person who applied for the v5 was in fact the previous owner ? Chin up guys, as always 👍
I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so deflated about a car . Onward and upwards chaps 👍
So sorry Chris & Rob that you had to go through a very testing situation I'm happy you managed to sort it out & to be honest I would probably do the same as you are going to do & let it go as a project for someone else to finish thank you both for the update on the escort & the other projects wishing you both continued success as you definitely deserve it 👏👍
Don’t think you need to worry about the state of the v5, whoever buys that car will know the story from the videos anyway!
Love the channel lads.
Shame about the Escort, but understand. Please don't sell the Range Rover unfinished! It's one of the videos I enjoy 😉
Yet again, well done 👏
My Mrs wants me to scrap a 1996 Ford Fiesta Mk4 LX that I think can be saved. It needs some mechanical work but nothing serious, some sill welding (I have a full sill but don't know how to weld yet), full paintwork, updates to wiring and an interior update / restoration. I just can't seem to let it go, it's just such a lovely drive!
What is it about these old Fords?
Nothing more to say on the RS2000 except that it will be worth half as much as your Lambo in a couple of years! 😂
Great vid and thanks for all the updates good decision about the RS 2000 I am sure someone will be a proud owner
He is a proud owner and I am looking forward to a Classic Car show, I don’t want to be deprived.
If they sell that car , the jealous one will think he/she has victored .
Thank you for the update!
Think you should keep the escort and put it in your collection as it would be something I would think you would get a lot of enjoyment out of! Don't let a few problems put you off it as it would be a shame to let it go as they are very rare to get hold of now! Great update and looking forward to the next installment of the work been done! Stay safe Chris and Rob
best car channel on youtube.. keepin it real 👍
Hi guys. Is there still a discount code for G101? Thank you
I love the way you guys do business.
This is not the case here
Great attitude in what has clearly been a very frustrating set of circumstances which have been beyond your control. Hopefully something better will turn up for you to add to your car collection.
People are right arseholes, they just hate he fact that you do the things like registering it properly etc
You and Chris are both positive and that’s the best thing. Previous owner won’t give you the v5, unbelievable. Breath taking audacity tbh
Been watching your videos for a while now and never left a comment but I understand that feeling unfortunately there are people out there like that and I'm glad you are positive about any situation keep up the good work both of you you bring a lot of joy into people's life's with these videos and especially younger generations your definitely two people to look up to🙏🏻
Amazing channel Guys! Keep it up!
Best regards from Copart Germany
