ZF trans know how to manage the output from the engine for the best performance you need and they both use the diesel trans to manage a huge torque from the engine
I wish we had time attacks on some race track and not just drag race. That huge rear wing must've created huge drag for RX7. Low weight doesn't help it much, since the car doesn't have good grip at the start, especially at the rear, since it can be very light and simply doesn't push the wheels hard enough into the asphalt. I know some dudes put additional ballast into the back of their cars to have a better launch. This is also why Porshe has such a good launch, despite having way less HP. I also suspect that Supra's suspension is way softer then Mazda's one, which is also an advantage in quarter mile race. And, of course, the automatic gearbox with a "cheat code" for better launch makes Supra unbeatable in the current race.

YESSS!!! My suggestion was heard!! That Carrera T did not do as bad as one would think against modified cars! Especially a Supra. Really good baseline though, need more Carrera T compares instead of Turbo! What else can a base 911 take on? Manual or auto.

Now try the same with a RUF, Gemballa or other legendary German Porsche Tuners Version of the Standard 911. Point being: these Drag Races are for Fun and i'm sure most Viewers realise this doesn't show Porsche being bad nor the Supra and RX-7 being good. It's just a fun Drag Race and we Car Enthusiasts should have fun watching it Also it' possible to like different Car Brands and Models without immediately going to a "D Measuring Contest" Prost & Cheers from the Bavarian Alps
I have a 83 rx7 gsl. Im jealous of this one 😮 I would never swap the rotary out, takes away character.. brrppp....brppp....brppp....I don't even know why a time attack car is in this, it will lose every time because of the gearing.
A 400bhp Supra auto runs 13 seconds flat quarter mile, so basically the same as the Porsche. A better race would have been a staggered start vs the slower RX-7 so you could have seen the Supra catching it up quickly!

I doubt anyone at Carwow will see this, but Sam, it's a Honda engine, just like Bisimoto's minivan you raced. You need to bounce that thing off the limiter in first til it hooks up before you shift, that way you can hit second in the power band instead of bogging
Can you do a F&F style Supra vs Charger drag race? And if you can find versions of those cars that can do a 10sec quarter mile I’d be seriously impressed

They are easy to adapt to the car
Not really bulletproof but are easily mounted to those engine, plus those 3L diesel gearboxes can handle a lof of torque.

I've been in that exact mk4 supra before and its an absolute rocket, it puts down the power really well with the bmw gearbox and wont loose traction.
