I have the G26 & HK in 9. Both very good, but I don’t carry the 26 much anymore. And I highly recommend the LEM action for the HK. It gives you a consistent trigger pull and the safety of a hammer fired pistol.
I got my HK P2000sk v3 back in 2018 & I have no regrets, it’s my primary carry weapon & I love it. I will say this though; there is no excuse for not owning & knowing Glocks inside & out, it’s still an absolute necessity.
I picked up a Beretta 96A1 last week and took a buddy from work shooting with me. I had to teach him how to use a DSA pistol since he hardly ever shot a handgun at that point. But he was super happy with it all. And the Beretta shot and fed with no problem.
For me, the G27 comes out on top. Smaller size/weight makes it easier to carry and I prefer striker over hammer. I think the angle of the Glock grip handles recoil better than other pistols as your wrist is canted more forward, putting the bore axis more inline with forearm axis. I also shoot with the index finger of my off hand on the front of the trigger guard, further reducing muzzle flip and allowing me to get back on target faster between shots. Given the shape and texturing of the trigger guard, I can only assume that is the way it was meant to be handled when firing. Also, minus the sights, I can fully disassemble a Glock with nothing more than a ballpoint pen. I've never taken a HK pistol down further than a field strip, but my impression was it needed specific sized punches and a hammer to take it down further. Great video as always man! P.S. Your collection is quite awe inspiring! 😁
I had to do a double-take when I saw the price of that P2000 on my PSA deals email. I would've picked one up myself if I wasn't saving for other stuff, but it's still an incredible deal.
I carry a ruger max 9 in the summer. My p80 glock 19 in the winter time. Saving up for a glock 27 rn. The burnt bronze one. Love my rugers, love my glocks. Open to anything else. I’m a firearm connoisseur I love them. Don’t we all?
Didn’t need it at all… So thanks a lot. Made me buy a 2.0 shield 40 for the 357 sig conversion… Actually pretty excited about it. I have a 10 mil but this is my first 40 cal.
I have a p2000sk also.. Most leather holsters for Glock 26/27 will fit it.. Eventually with some work..its slightly wider but other dimensions are almost same. I have a USP Compact and G19 Holsters work great on it also.
@SPN Firearms Can you do a video solely focused on 357 Sig? Discuss all current production options (throw in all 40 conversions) and what you suggest buying.
I EDC my HK VP40 9 months out of the year. I love it. In fact, so much I bought a second one in case I'm ever invloved in a self defense shooting and the police take it as part of their investigation. For me it's darn near perfection! I carry a Glock 27 Gen 5 for my Summer carry. As much as I wanted to love the P2000sk, it just wasn't right for me. The G27 size and trigger sealed the deal. Most importantly, I shoot it very well. The only way I could see giving her up is if HK comes out with a VP40sk. And that's just a firm, "Maybe."
You can (10mins w Dremmel) install a Houge pinky extension for G26/27 on the HK p2000sk and it makes it just about perfect...no pinky squeeze or having to tuck under.
I have the p2000 compact size. It’s my go to. Have plenty of pistols, p2k is my do all gun. Can throw a 17 round mag with x grip in winter. Sent to wright armory to have the I dot slide cut and have a 508t on it. Gray guns short reset kit and converted mine from da/sa to 4.1 LEM.
The 10mm Win. Glocks don't have fully supported chambers, either. That why there have been catastrophic failures with heavy "bear" loads. Not a fan of the current striker fired handguns, give me a hammer and DA/SA.
40 became the worst caliber to trade or sell and the best caliber to buy price point . Got a used p30 40 lem for 3 and change in box mint . It hurts seeing the level of disrespect it never better price . I paid 20 bucks for 50 gold dot 180 .
@@spnfirearms I carry (among others) a Gen 3 G19 with a Zev Standard Magwell on it, it's a bit tight too. Maybe I have bigger hands than I realize. That said my primary EDC is a Wilson P365XL grip module with a spectre comp slide assy on it and that feels pretty good. All fingers fit great, just not a lot of real estate for your support hand to get in on the action because the grip circumference isn't crazy.
The HK is better for big hands and the mag release in the stress situation. As those HK were popular because it was like the German police service pistol there was a kit for improving some parts. Many hunters in Germany still carry that HK to end life of injured animals because of the penetrating advantage of the much heavier 40 cal round. They just cooked the hammer back and could shoot a precise double tap. Is a kind of killer technique.
That HK is a sweet pistol, and a hell of a deal. I love hammer fired and 40S&W. Chunky is good, makes it easier to hang on to.

I now need one. Ok you talked me into the p2000sk in 40sw.
I only carry 9mm and 45acp. Here we go into 40sw. If I love it I’ll hate myself.

Great rebuttal

After 10 years, G19 or G27 in a cheap-o Glock Sport Combat Holster. Spent way more than a new Glock costs on holsters and I went back to the GSCH.

SPN, I just purchased the P2000SK .40S&W based upon your recommendation; it was too good of a deal to pass up. Which holster are you using for it?

Yes I actually have that video coming out! Just waiting for the review from TH-cam.
@@spnfirearms Sweet. 🙂
I like them both, but heck I like all firearms.
Thats me too. Guns & women, I like them short, tall, heavy, light,, chunky, or thin. Just as long as I'm holding one😅
@@jimchambers7548 Hahaha it all just depends on how they carry it!
And whether they're reliable!
😉👍
@@WarriorSoul357 sometimes they looks good but keeps malfunctioning 😅
@@jimchambers7548 🤣
Jim - with guns I have good luck on that. Women... eh, track record says not so much 😂

Lovin the HK!

Love my p2000sk 40. Switched it out for 357 sig.
I been debating on a conversion barrel myself. How do you like the sig round in that small of a pistol?

100% on all you state, I as you own both and concur.
27 & Gold Dots
Proven to work for decades now
I need to ask, how does a gun become "obsolete" if it still safely fires? Sure, I get it if the round it fires itself becomes obsolete but how else?
sold a kimber, im bewtween the p365xl or x and the hk2000sk
I picked up the h&k vp9sk it's nice

The P2000SK is nice but it bunches up my fingers pretty bad, I’m an average size guy 5’ 9” and size large gloves.

What a waste to throw all of that aftermarket garbage into a Glock.
HK is teasing a micro. It looks promising.
But.
10 round mag. HK....WHY!? WHY can't you get with the program!?
I’ve read that you can get huge magazines for the HK USP & they’re a direct fit for the P2000… being in California makes that a challenge, but…
Nice deal!
Personally HK is a better pistol.
👍💯

Can't beat the 27 man!
