The deal is still on....and you didn't mention the rebate for 4 magazines😊 I'm going to pick up my Daily Deal P2000 im about thirty minutes, but I got the fullsized P2000 in V2 LEM configuration. It's a ban state model with 10 shot mags, but I'm ok with that. It's still the best deal I've ever seen on an HK.
Update: even though the SKU indicated 2 ten round mags, mine has three. I really like the LEM v.2 trigger, at least in dryfire. The one thing I don't like is that the back strap has a gap where it meets the frame...unsightly and uncomfortable. Iay try swapping the larger beavertail back strap on. Also....the magazine levers really are tiny.
@@spnfirearms Just a heads up brother....I too bought one of these P2K's from Palmetto a few months back. It's a great shooter especially for a 40 and have put less than 1000 rounds through it. Last week I was dry firing it with a laser snap cap. Suddenly the trigger refused to reset. Apparently the trigger return spring broke. I was a bit shocked given the low round count. I sent it back to H&K(they make you pay for shipping to them) so we'll see how it goes moving forward. I fully realize nothing is perfect, but am definitely disappointed.
Just an update on my experience with the P2K repair......They were great! The customer service rep. was very friendly and the total repair time was about 1 week and I had my pistol back. Very impressed with the whole repair process!
@@jasonroberts9357 That's good to hear! I can't say that I necessarily like the P2K very much, but I was very impressed with the people at HK in Columbus. It's a surprisingly small outfit, but they really seemed great.
What a great deal! Also 40 is not dead. Well good for people like us. A month ago I finally got a used Glock 23 gen 4 for $369. I think I got a decent deal.
I grabbed a P2000 in .40 during that deal. Slapped a grayguns short reset kit, tritium sights and a nickel plated sear spring. Love it. Just ordered a barrel for it in 357 sig. All you gotta change out is the barrel.
Absolutely their loss for sure! I have a usp 40 full size and it's a freaking tank!!! The usp was originally built around the s&w 40 cal. I run Winchester ranger t series 165gr absolutely devastating round!!!!! Psa still has this deal going and 4 mags for free can't go wrong so i snatched one up moments ago good video dude keep it up you earned another subscriber
I am, 40s&w is my favorite pistol caliber. During the pandemic 9mm ammo was out of stock everywhere & whenever it was in stock it was expensive AF & run out real quick. But 40&w & 45acp were always in stock by the crate loads.
I love .40 S&W. Nice find. I got a good deal on a HK P30 L because it is 40 and I really enjoy it. Thank you for the videos, love your new HK and I always look forward to your content
Since I am a lefty I am a big fan of paddle mag release. If you haven't tried it yet I suggest using your middle finger on your dominant hand to hit the mag release. That is what I do with my Walther PPS M1.
Aye, they inherited that rear-frame decocker from the p2000. The mags from the p30/VP9 (fullsized) are also cross compatible with the p2000's. I will say tho, that I like the later gen paddle mag releases MUCH more than those little ones they had on the previous models like the p2000, USP, etc. If you've got some spare cash sometime, check out the p30sk LEM. That is one hell of a very sweet combination!
I don't know if HK still offers OEM 357 sig barrels or not. Kinda thinking not. But again, NOT sure. But yeah, this was the only model that they also offered in 357.
I followed up your video and went to PSA and picked up a P2000 SK of my own for that deal myself. I have the P30 SK already but it’s a 9mm. I like hammer fired guns .40 s&w. Thanks for that alert on the deep discount.
Love my H&K stuff I've been carrying H&K since the mid 90's, have a USP, USPc & P2000sk all in 40. With the paddle style mag release I've always found it easier to use my trigger finger to drop the mag.
I have owned both, but the p2000 is my favorite by far. I got my p2000 in 2003-2005 for $600 and it was dealer priced, so you did well. Generally you can get them for $900 or so.
I have one in the V2 LEM version. Gray Guns sells a straight trigger and a short reset system for LEM. The highest capacity mag you can get for the P2000(SK) in .40 S&W is the 13rd P30 mags. HK Parts sells grip sleeves to cover the gap that shows when a P30 mag is in a P2000(SK).
My P2000SK was one of my first pistols (yes I’m spoiled)! I carried it and LOVED it!!!!!! It’s just gorgeous and that alone is a reason to own it!!!! Man I miss this gun!!!!
Oh also. Being a German gun, when you shoot, use Combat Hold. I don't LIKE combat hold because it puts your sights OVER the target! But yeah. Combat hold. Aftermarket sights may change that, or may not. Depends on the sights, lol.
I noticed that on sale a couple weeks ago at PSA. I was tempted. Definitely worth the money. If it had better sights it would be a no brainer if you are in the market for a 40cal.
I'm not disagreeing with you about the sights. You're not wrong there. But, just mentioning it. HK pistols are pretty much military/police weapons. That's their target. Also wanted to mention that when the gun was designed... night sights were not a thing, yet. And HK being HK almost NEVER updates their models.
@@jerzfiveohthree I know you can. My point was if it already came with better sights it’s a no brainer. That way you don’t have to spend an extra 100 plus on new sights.
Ever try (when gripping the gun) first gripping it with your bottom finger, then ring finger and then middle finger? (bottom finger a little higher than normal, so when you grab with the other fingers, you have to kind of cram them into the space below the trigger guard that is left for them). Hope that's a good enough explanation).
I have the compact size 9mm on the way from family firearms for a little over $100 more. Might have gone for the sk if those in 9mm weren't a good bit more. Look into getting a p2000/usp compact mag with sleeve for a larger backup. HKs just tend to work, which is nice!
@SPN Firearms That is an awesome deal, and congratulations. Also you picked the RIGHT model! Now, before I go into that. Dude- that's a paddle mag release. *DON'T USE YOUR THUMBS* I REPEAT: Do NOT USE YOUR THUMBS. Paddle mag releases, you use either your trigger finger, or your eh... "rude finger" to release the mag. If you are going to insist on using your thumb, do so from two handed grip, with your off hand thumb. But, that's just funky, man. Ok, now. *WHY* I said you got the *RIGHT* Model. The HK p2000 is the ONLY HK hammer gun that can be RELIABLY converted to 357 sig. The other .40 models, have very serious issues trying to shoot that caliber. But, the p2000 was *offered* in the caliber, and can be converted. They even sell specifically marked 357 sig mags for it. Speaking of mags. I know some others have commented that you can get a rebate on mags right now. The p2000c is compatible with USPc mags. It is also compatible with VP9/P30 magazines. (But I don't think they're compatible with the sub-compact mags). Which in this case, HK DID make a VP9 in .40 😁 I believe the VP9 40 was either 12+1 or 13+1. But they do sell baseplate extensions that let you add more rounds. Research reliability tho. (Edit: I don't know if they are compatible with Vp9/P30 (B) model mags. But those aren't offered in .40...so it doesn't matter, in this case.) You can also find aftermarket mag sleeves, so that you don't over-insert the mags into the well. The p2000 is a great gun. It's got an improved trigger over the USP, and a VASTLY improved trigger over the p30. It also can be installed with a LEM Trigger kit, which will radically reduce the weight of the trigger pull. BUT, gets rid of SA fire mode. Think of a LEM trigger as... when you rack the slide, you pre-cock the hammer, *halfway*. Under that condition, the only thing you have to do with the trigger is cock the hammer the other half of they way. LEM stands for Law Enforcement Modification (btw). As a former 3x HK owner, let me be the first- Welcome to the fold my brother. Welcome to the fold. And great choice!
Like some of the other commenters, I also have 2 P30’s, a P30S and a SK. A couple thousand rounds through each and not a single issue. .40 cal is not my preference but you can’t wrong with HK. You won’t regret buying this and thanks for the vid.
Ok OK one more. My experience with HK pistols, is that New, the recoil springs in them are very stiff. Personal recommendation is to leave the slide locked back at night til ya get to the range. First couple of runs, use mid-grain for caliber ammo. I don't think that it's so much of an issue for .40s. But the 9mms are definitely recommended to wear in those recoil springs HARD.
got one of these too. saw the LEM models sold out first. if you take them appart the LEM has more small internal parts inside the hammer which is like hollowed out. idk i think the SA/DA v3 version is the best imo. cool video. been looking at this one for awhile now.... really good deal. i saw j&G had some used ones for ~650 and i almost went for it but now im glad i didnt. i suspect that HK is winding down the mfg line or something? really strange for how cheap these were.
My P2000sk v3 is chambered in 9mm. I bought an Alien Gear IWB holster & I did a few modifications because I like to carry at the 10:00 position. I love the gun, but I wish the initial trigger pull was a little lighter… that’s probably me more than the gun.
I've got a P30 and a P30L because I was on a DA/SA kick for a while (also picked up a sig mk25 around the same time). Being COMPLETELY honest, they were both underwhelming.
