- In this video, we're installing an EGR delete pipe kit. The pipes are common to break on the d40 Navara and cost over $1000 from nissan. Deleting the EGR helps with the power, fuel economy, and life of the engine.

Completed this today, if your willing to cut the egr pipe with a reciprocating saw there is no need to remove fan and shroud .

good tutorial but can i just say those welds on the egr pipe are probably amongst some of the worst i think ive ever seen legit bird shit and they still couldnt patch it

I put in a blanking plate before the manifold where egr out is connected to manifold.
But i forgot engine check light and error code.

Can you tell the reason? I didn't stop the egr solenoid. Still how did ecm know that exhaust is not entering manifold. Although solenoid is working normally and seeing exhaust

Working on my d40, r51 p/f.
Theres a blank plant installed on the left side (fuel rail side), nothing on the exhaust side, and both pipes still connected ?
I've had it since 30000kms, why you reckon thatz been done ?
It's not a stainless blank either.
The motor has only just been pulled apart to do the head after overheating from the plastic hose connector breaking in the firewall. So i didnt do it, and dunno who did ? 2009 model i bought in 2010.

No codes. Only time they will throw a code is if there is an issue with the egr valve

Nah the only time they throw a code is when there is an issue with the EGR valve
@@yd2532 which can then have issues because it’s not working as it should due to the pipe being removed ... kind of the chicken and the egg isn’t it ?
@@4WheelingInNSW the EGR valve gets jammed and breaks when the soot build up from the EGR not being blanked when this happens you will get a code.

Erg valve.
You didn’t show though where those 2 water pipes go once you’ve removed the metal coolant section - what do they plug back into ?
You loop them with the rubber U hose
You just join them together.
Join it with the u hose.
Did you need to install a resistor onto the White Wire on the MAF Sensor?

Hi, So i have the nissan navara d40 2012 thai model and have been experiencing issues with my turbo for years only to realise that my Nissan has no egr system . The blanking plate near the turbo intake is there, I have no egr valve and there is no egr tube. How on earth is this possible? I thought the performance was due to the turbo so I replaced the turbo with the exact one according to my model. Can you advise? can I get the performance of the turbo in the absence of the turbo?
Boost control solenoid or vacuum lines going to the solinoid
@@yd2532 thanks. I changed it a couple months back with a non genuine so hopefully that's the cause. I've also ordered a turbo hose kit. Will order a genuine solenoid and try again

You might have a 2009 model. If it's a 2009 you will need to use a peice of straight hose instead of the U hose

No software needed
@@yd2532 Thank you, mine was done by a mechanic (disabling solenoid spring). So i was concerned regarding high engine temps due to better combustion and different air/fuel ratios etc. But there are alot of opinions out there regarding the efficacy vs downsides

@@brett9860 no noticeable difference. But after further investigation it's definitely healthier for the engine and especially intake manifold carbon buildup
The egr in the 140kw models is alot easier to get to i didnt have to take shit off compared to this.

@@kodigoodman6417 Dont have to remove the egr pipe completely if you're worried about getting defected.
Use a backing plate like i did.
The benefit from deleting/blocking the egr is no soot particles mixing with the blowbuy creating sludge that blocks your intake manifold and engine air passages.
Recommend to get a catch can first (basically fixes blowbuy with a provent 200), then if you want to block the egr thats on you but definitely recommended if your vehicle can take it.
What this video doesn’t tell you that in Australia it’s around $11000 for temporary with the vehicle emission system. $1000 part from Nissan sounds a lot cheaper.

You know installing a catch can is technically tampering with the emission system.
I've never heard of absolutely anyone getting a fine for that.
Do you mean TAMPERING? Probably 100,000+ EGR deletes have been done over the years. I'd love to see even ONE fine issued.

That great but you left the engine with open manifold where the EGR was connected to the manifold. The final stage is to get modified manifold without the inlet for EGR.

Can you not just remove the entire thing instead and block that off? Cause there's no point in having the egr valve body there is there if it's just getting blocked off?
If the EGR valave is not connected it'll throw a code

Yes there several ways to do it.You can create total separate air cooled one or separate water cooled one not attached to the block or have air cooled coiled aluminium pipe
