What is the role of the EGR valve? In a nutshell, the EGR is there to reduce emissions. It does this by rerouting some of the exhaust gases coming from the engine back into the combustion chambers in the engine. This has the effect of reducing the temperatures within the combustion chambers.

Hello thanks for this video i clean it but i still have p4030 on with idle issues rpm stays high when started and for 30s engine cut off everytime when its cold but its alright when its warm .... i clean maf sensor and egr so far ...

The sounds like block of exhaust gas / clogged of intake, but with regards to the engine cut off when it’s on idle in cold, the symptoms is mostly related to the fuel side and timing chain

Rhyan Abejo have you check the fuel filter as well? There is another reason that fuel is not burning well. For that you need to check the injectors, the best thing is to find out the root cause by scanning the ECU? Do you have a scanner by any chance?

I have a Navara with 70k kms. There's no error codes or problems on it but should I give it a clean based on the mileage? It's running perfect but it seems easy enough. Will there be any error codes if I disconnect the connectors? Thank you. Great video 👍

Hello Richie, the error cord throw only if there is an error with the electronic sensor. But does not warn for clog of carbon. Hence just remove the unit and give a good cleanup. You would see the difference in driving as well as bit of fuel saving

Is there the same problem with the v6 navara. My one accelrates hard then cuts and slows to 3500 rpm and no power. Would you say egr dpf or timing chain??

@bambam71279 in v6 comes with two different timing chains and entirely different than the inline D40.
I believe you first check the fuel supply and system

Henry Jones it’s legal to block but there are side effects. As by blocking the EGR will completely block the hot side of the engine and opens only the cold side of the engine.
