  • Did not really plan on this but made a short video about what went down.
    Seems like after 200k on the clock the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filters) got clogged so I had them removed. The ECU didn't like that so I had to get a DPF delete on the software, very common problem they said. The guy does Performance tuning too so while he was in there he did a "Stage 1'' tune and it woke the car up drastically.
    It should have better economy now too!
    Gotta love them turbo noises!!!

    The opaccity is really good, who did the map for this engine was top notch, usually after remap the mixture is very rich, you can't even stay behind the car

      Thanks man. No issues at all😁😁👌👌just remember the ecu needs to be tuned otherwise the check engine light will be on if you just remove it without getting a tuner the set the ecu.👌

      The dpf will get clogged finally, the car will not pull anymore and then you will need to pay around £350 to clean it

      @@ionnedel1160 What DPF? He removed it. Did you not see the section where he broke it through with the hammer and chisel? His DPF is now bored out, so he doesn't have a filter element to get clogged.
      But i know what you mean. Some people think they can do a DPF delete on the ECU and all's good, which isn't the case if the DPF is psychically still there. Which isn't the case, as you rightly pointed out. In fact, doing a DPF delete on the ECU but keeping the DPF installed on the car is the worse thing that you can do because the car will never regenerate (burn off) the DPF so it will just get blocked over time and you will need to delete the DPF delete ecu code.
      Just to clarify for anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about - NEVER do a DPF delete from the ECU unless you psychically remove the DPF from the car (or bore it out, like the guy in this video did).

      @@100pyatt Yes thats what my mechanic told me, the previous owner didnt pay attention to timing chain my mechanic changed it and told me to go around every 5K kilometers to do oil changes now its all good overall amazing engine in my opinion.

    0:49 that was me like a couple days ago, these pull strong hey sounds good too...When they just knocked the cat out like that did it show an engine light afterwards? pr did they have to put on a map to sort that out? i wanna knock my cat out so bad.

      You have the M271 engine if I remember from your videos? Yes after knocking both cats out the car put itself in limp mode because of the pressure difference between the 2 exhaust sensors. On these Diesel models they call in a DPF and yes I had to take it to a guy to do a DPF delete on the software.
      But with the M271 in my car I never had a Cat. Every now and again it would cause the engine light to come on but every time I just cleared the sensor code to get rid of the light.
      But now because you have the W204 chassis I’m not sure if they added the limp mode when that is the case.

      @@RicerBenz yes i have limp mode i got a boost leak and engine light car was super sliggish so most likely has the limp mode story. Looks like I'll have to get that funky defeat sensor and just hollow out cat as i already got rid of the second cat with no issues. Thanks man i learn alot from you shot!!

    Which do you think if better between removing the filters or just replacing dpf with a downpipe?

      Removing the filters still means there's some turbulance since it isn't a straight pipe, a downpipe however is a straight pipe but is probably going to cost you more depending where you are and or if you're going to do it by yourself

    Any side effectes are EGR delete ? Like higher fuel consumption or slower warm up ?

      The cars coolant will take a lot longer to warm up. Fuel consumption is improved, however, if you only do short journeys (The car never warms up fully) you will get slightly less fuel economy. This is because the diesel engine becomes more efficient when its warm.
      It's always worth removing the EGR unless you live in a very cold country and you need heating to remove ice.

    nice thing going on, i have c350 cdi its not boosting and makes a loud noise under acceleration. map senser replaced and boosted for day the limp mode but revs high no power. please help

      That's how it works. If you don't remap the ECU the engine management light will stay on. Its just the insides of the DPF that is removed so there is no way (visually) to tell it doesn't have one

    Hi, I have a mercedes W212 with a deleted DPF.
    Currently there are 2 check engine errors
    1. Code: P047214. Exhaust back pressure sensor 1 has short to ground.
    2. Code: P029900. The boost pressure of turbocharger 1 is too low
    My question is, Is the exhaust back pressure sensor part of the DPF system? My mechanic insists I should ignore the 1st error code since the DPF is deleted, however, I feel it is what is causing the second one. Please advise.

      You do see some smoke on full throttle yes😁👌and outside it does smell a bit when it’s cold but I like the smell🤣

      They used a hammer and chisel to get mine out. You can also get a downpipe made😎

      I would agree yes. Very restrictive component 🙈 its needed for emissions control that are pretty strict in some countries or somethinglike that🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

      @@aldoraines on the other hand there is little to no checking for diesel emissions. It can be straight piped with add blue disabled dpf removed and cat stolen and with no access smoke (which is tested Visually) you free NOx all living species. imagine this on the petrol car - not a chance to pass MOT ( tech inspect )

      If it’s the m271 like I had in my W203 I got mine to 130kw with smaller pulley and mapping

      I asked the tuner I want it to roll coal🤣but it used more diesel than ever. So I took it to him again and he redid the tune for better fuel efficiency so it’s very minimal smoke now

      Dit was so R2500 vir die DPF delete op die software(Sodat die Engine Light nie aankom)en die Stage 1 remap is so R3500 as ek reg onthou.

      When I did the DPF delete I had the car mapped along with it so it’s more economical 👌 consumes less😁😎

      @@R3MILI yes that’s correct 😁 with this car the check engine light came on for the dpf
      Meaning the dpf was faulty
      So I had to do a DPF delete on the software to get rid of the engine light and the same guy did the mapping for me. Makes the car a bit faster and more economical. Tons of people do a DPF delete because it’s restrictive 👌

    Without the cat it will belch black smoke on hitting the accelerator pedal.. It does give around an extra 20BHP but at the expense of the plod seeing what ya did up the road for miles..

      Off the top of my head, RHD is UK, most of Africa? Australia, (Maybe New Zealand as well, I assume so). India, Jamaica? And Japan. Everything apart from Japan is because of the colonial stuff (as in the England invaded those countries and they are/were under the control English law).
      I'm sure there's others. And i don't know why Japan. That surely has nothing to do with being under English law. Still, it's good for us in the UK because when we imported their fast cars back in the 90s (Mitsubishi GTO, Nissan ZX300 and Nissan Skyline - I was lucky enough to own all 3 of them at different points in my life) the steering wheels were on the correct side! lol.

      I also got a 2007 c220 cdi with a 6 speed manual transmission, im on dpf off and full straight pipe from turbo, stage 2 remap, dyno at 20c air temperature says about 232hp and 521nm of tourque, 0-100 i drove a handshifted 6.7-6.8

      Diesels aren't really that good at 0-100. 40-100, sure. But they don't get off the line that great compared to petrol cars. 50-150 is where they are beasts! This 200BHP 220CDI would beat a 200 BHP petrol in a 50-150 race easily, but the same 200 BHP petrol would probably beat this 0-100.

    I am currently facing the same issue with my car, How much must i budget to get it removed, and even have a down pipe?
    I am in SA with a C220 CDI as well, it is very very slow, it is a 2010 key with 210000KM mileage

      I payed about R300 at the exhaust shop to have the cats removed. You just need to find one that is willing to help. Then you have to get a DPF remove on the ECU. That was about R3k.
      Downpipe will have to be custom made I guess and that’s always super expensive 🙈
      I assume your car is now in limp mode because you say it’s slow. Not a slow car at all with 400nm torque 😁goodluck !

      I did do a remap along with the DPF programming 😁pulls really hard. Unfortunately did not get a before and after dyno 😅 but it’s definitely more responsive 😁💪🏼

      Remap alone with stock exhaust already gives you 205hp

      @@user-fg6mq3dg3d i'd say 225 at max with straight pipes and egr delete, but it wont Sound good in my opinion. I'd probably give it a remap with an aftermarket airfilter inlet replacement and new intercooler for the same Performance gain, as deleting DPF is HIGHLY illegal where i live

    Good luck passing your MOT in a couple of years when a visual inspection is no longer all the tester needs to do.
    Not sure why you would remove the DPF on that car. I've got a W204 and i never even notice when it's regening. If you clog your DPF you probably shouldn't be driving a diesel...

      FYI we don’t have emissions testing in South Africa so I’m good 😉
      Also I’m sure what happened here has nothing to do with my driving style👌
      The DPF is a “restrictor” , without it the car is more fuel efficient and it’s Tuned accordingly to gain a bit more horsepower🤘😁🤘

    The DPF can be cleaned by yourself and reinstalled easily enough.. No need to smash it up, for unless you know a garage that won’t report ya, you are now screwed..

      @@RicerBenz well dpf is better for the environment and your health. No use tuning a slow car, and I have a 320 cdi as a daily. Get something decent to modify.

    1 thing of a issue there.. that isn't a W204 model... thats a W203... instant confirmation I the spotlights on the front, on the W204 they was LED and LED lights all over and a strip for the spotlight, plus the back was slightly different plus many other differences, which they called the face-lift model... the car here on this video is a W203 older

      The car is a W204.
      I've got a W204 CDI 220 and W203 C180 Kompressor.
      This car is clearly a W204. Look at the dash of this car and look at the dash for a W203. Look at the front end of this car and look at the front end of the W203.
      There was a "facelift" in 2011. The car in this video was built before 2011 so maybe your car was built after 2011?
      Either way, 2007-2011 is still a W204. W203 is 2000-2007.

      Man you are confusing the pre and post facelift W204. This car is definitely W204 (pre-facelift). I have one of these and I have W20 also. There is a later W204 (facelift) with slight differences, the headlights etc look a little updated.. but it's essentially the same model just updated. The W204 was sold 2007-2014 and the facelift went on sale about half way through it's production run, around 2011. But both pre and post facelift are still W204. Read about it here on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_C-Class_(W204) The W203 you mention is the C-Class before this.. it was sold 1999-2007. The one that came with the last diesel 5-cylinder. You can see the difference here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_C-Class_(W203) I own both the W203 and the W204 models.
