You inspire me to melt steel, blow through every panel that needs welding and generally make a huge mess...It's GREAT and I learn every time I 'make mess'. One of THE best channel on 'The Tubes'...Cheers...(from Scotland)
Malcolm that is amazing! Ha ha I absolutely love this comment because I’ve been there lol you’re right it’s the best way to learn and I’m stoked that you’re having a great time!
Get a scrap door from an old 90s car and practice. My car has over 4mt of spot weld shaving handles and taillights and decklids. Takes a Long time but it's great to say you did it all by hand yourself.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels! No BS, no blather, no boring segments. I now have a growing list of tools I "need" so I can try out some of these techniques! The skill involved in your work is humbly showcased, but in no way minimized. Thank you for making these videos and encouraging us to try things for ourselves. Fabrication has never been more approachable and charming!
I have been working in this profession for over 30 years, I like to observe your technique, you will always surprise me with something - great respect.👏
i hope metal work teachers are shown your channel and getting the students to watch and take notes on these videos, they are so well explained and easy to watch!
Your metalwork just blows my mind. And the tools you used, the english wheel, the planishing hammer, you made them. What a great metalworker. Great job
Wow!!,Not only are you a great craftsman.but your no nonsense approach to passing on your knowledge.you are awesome. You are also gutsy. I would have been afraid to cut a body like that. I'm not a fan of the Dubal windshield.but its refreshing to see you enjoy carrying a tradition.a craft..you are not a cookie cutter, all the same builder. Carry on.jb
Thank you so much Juan! I will continue to build cars working with Metal for my whole life there’s so much to learn! And so many cool cars to build. That’s the beauty of the custom industry, everyone can have their own taste and still respect others
An absolute thrill to watch! Getting so sucked into the work is a rush. The work, the filming, the music-can’t imagine how it could be better! Thank you very much ✅✅👍👍
Really nice work on the cowl and doors. I like listening to the commentary to understand why you are doing it the way you do, and you know what, it becomes obvious that s how you should do it.
You’re very welcome man! It seems like TV is not meant for the car guy lol we are too small of a demographic. They need to have so many ups and downs to keep non-car people interested in car content lol
You have amazing talent not only in what you do and you have a hidden talent in how you inspire. If I was 50 years younger I would work for you for free just to learn the broad picture.
I absolutely love this channel. I could watch this all day everyday. I’m about to start the build of a boat tailed pre war special ( speedster for you across the pond 😉). I was going to use Aluminium but after watching you Karl I’m using steel. Please keep posting and thank you for all your tips and true craftsmanship. 👍
you got the doors to fit so well that i was sure that you had flush fit them so that the rear of the door didn't overlap the body. your a true craftsmen
Brilliant...really like how you say it how it is. Completely underestimate yourself...however it’s great to watch art in metal being formed by a true craftsman
You are a true craftsman!! Learning so much from watching your videos! Those corners are a work of art!!! Watching your videos inspire me to try my hand at customizing something,… anything!!😁

Pure enjoyment, watching & learning from you Karl. Thanks for sharing your techniques & expertise. I enjoyed seeing the wire & tape template . Innovative way to make a quick, accurate & time saving template. Stay real Rick
That body shape tool is a well used tool that every body man should have in their box. I own the same tool you have, plus a 10 in. also. Not only dose it give you a out side shape but it also shows you a inside shape. It can be used in several shapes. Thanks for the info and you are right about filler, it is used on any car or truck that is getting body work done. Ronnie.
Except on your amazing skills.. One of the things i love about your channel is that you show alot of progress on one video...but still i crave for the next one.
This is a awesome video. I'm starting on a 29 A roadster...so I'll be watching very closely how you tackle things. I'm such a newbie, but not afraid...
A friend sent this link to me. Called you a Metal Magician. I think he's right! With those developed skills you must have started at a very young age. Modding your Tonka trucks. Wishing you continued success.
When I used to do metalwork, I would use a copper spoon to back up the hole and mig hole closed since Mig does not adhere to copper. Also I would lead copper pennies from the backside of the holes. Virtually no distortion with that merhod. I think you're on your way to becoming the next customizing superstar!
Awesome work because of you when you were doing the top piece I knew what needed to be done before you explained it so awesome thank you I can’t wait to get my own tools to do similar stuff
It is so nice to see such a young and highly skilled craftsman. Great work.
Thanks a lot Ron! It’s all right now lol
