I know this is an old video but I’ve found it’s much easier just to pull the intake manifold off to get to the top bellhousing bolts. I’ve taken my manifold off so many times it only takes me about 15 min to pull it off and another 15 min to put it back on and with it off you can get the two top bellhousing bolts super easy with a ratchet or wrench
I been there and done that in my younger days and thought it was fun and cool,,,now older its just a big pain in the ass and would just rather pay a pro to do it
I hear you there. And yet... a looking at all of the parts I bought and watching all the tutorials made me excited for my third clutch job on my 08 GT lol. I have bmr engine mounts, a new trans mount, new exhaust mounts and a new ford aluminum driveshaft in addition to the clutch im replacing. Its the slave cylinder that went out last time and this time tho
Fuck the TR3650. I just bought an 05 GT with 64k miles from owning a 02 GT with 120k miles. Both transmissions input shafts and cluster shafts are donzo. My transmission whines and whines, bought a 47k mile TR3650. I need everyone's prayers in the mustang community cause if I get the same problem for the 3rd time I'm switching to a 370z
Not a Mustang guy but can pick up one with trans issue for $1500 pretty clean 140k just no where to work on it. It’s wetlands out here to soft for jack stands
Hey man loved it im doing mine tomorrow i already removed rebuilt and installed an automatic for an 05 v6 im doing my manual on my 05 gt tomorrow where is the follow up video? Would love to see the inside of that tr3650
Thanks for your reply, Unfortunately we got rid of the car. We did end up rebuilding the transmission we just didn't focus enough on the video aspect of it. If you have any questions about it we would love to answer them!
Attention every 3 valve owner always buy OEM throw out bearing/slave cylinder had my trans built to handle the power I was putting behind it went ahead and got a new throw out bearing (same brand as my clutch and flywheel) and I now have to take it all the way out again because it’s shorter than the oem one
Yoni Deras get a brake bleeder hook it to the brake fluid reservoir with a rubber stopper to get a seal and pump the air out of the lines. The clutch runs off of that reservoir.
@@andrewblumm9806 Cool, thank you. I took off the top bolts for the transmission. That was literally the hardest part. I still need to take out the trani hose that has a little push pin. Then I should be able to drop it. Can you guys make a video showing how to remove the top bolts? I also need to change my oil pan gasket. Ford didn't make it easy to get to. I had to get an engine lifter to lift the motor up to get to it. It's defiantly a pain. You guys make it look really easy on video. How long did it take you guys?
@@darkliquid6388 Unfortunately we got rid of the mustang, so we are unable to do that video. I appreciate the comment! I believe it took us around 3 hours. The stang seems like they made everything very difficult to access haha.
@@etohracing4475 No worries man. What king of car did you get after selling the mustang? I was thinking of just keeping my 05 gt and get a cervini body kit and do an engine swap from 2nd gen and put a pro charger on it. Why did you get rid of your car.
@@darkliquid6388 My friend sold the mustang because he wanted to make easy power cheaper. He bought a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am. He got the one that has the LS1. That's a cool idea for your mustang, seems like it's not cheap for sure!
Any word on how much it cost for a new transmission ? Mines a 2005 mustang GT auto 90k miles trans is starting to hesitate a little so at some point it will need to be replaced rather replace it and dog the fuck out of it
Thank you your footage gave me the answer i thought the flywheel to crank bolts were left handed..in differential they are

Not too late for me! About to do mine. Thanks for the tip!
@@Trinergy-Livewire if you have a ford racing manifold you don’t even have to pull the intake if you have a set of ratchet wrenches.

Hey bro how’d u do your automatic?
Thank you guys it help me a lot
Very helpful thanks
What is the hard line that is connected to the front left of transmission and how do we get that off

Is there a special way putting the converter bolts in
Aye man so we’re having trouble putting back the trans and you did not show how to do that
How did you end up getting it back in? Im in the process right now and cant get it back in
Looking to rebuild my tr3650 in my 06 what kit do y’all recommend?
Did yall get the one bolt from the top or from under it?
How did y’all bleed the clutch?

If my auto did give up on me, i plan on manual swapping it
My auto just gave up on me
Me too lmao lasted 200k though I already got my tremec
5:33 Literally step 1
I'm in the process of taking mine out. Is the starter required to be taken out to drop the transmission?
Yes. There should be 3 bolts holding the start into the bell housing. Two more bolts supplying power to the starter.

What size socket do I need to remove the flywheel?
I don't recall exactly, sorry.
Get rid of that POS driveshaft. That damn this split at the carrier bearing and left me stranded. The aluminum one pice I have now is worth it

Try to contact pro-force transmission he specializes in those transmission and he's the one who talked me through the rebuild.
4:30 Do you not know what a pull bar is?
10:00 Ever heard of a transmission jack? LOL
Never put RP in a 3650. Sorry.
