the chromoly steel flywheel is the best, it really changes how the car feels. I am about to do my third clutch job on my 08 GT (first time stock clutch wore out, the other two times is the crappy throw out bearing going out lol) and I am putting in some BMR poly motormounts and a ford racing drive shaft in finally this time
We are going to do mine together in a few weeks. There are more produced videos, but I'm all about the driveway in the open. The garage let's you drag your ass 😁.
Why brake fluid and not clutch fluid? Pop quiz... you mentioned less rotational mass of the lightened FW but you didnt explain what that equates to when driving. I will let u post the answer. Also curious if youre experiencing and of the potential drawbacks associated with a lightened FW. Pretty cool u actually weighed them! Thanks for the vid tho very helpful!
Very nice video. I wish i was mature as u at your age. Your parents done a great job im thinking. Nice video editing too.. do u do the video editing on your phone? If so what program do u use.? . I'll sub!
Did you find the clutch pressure better (lighter) than the stock clutch? My 07 GT is heavy and will be changing the clutch out this spring, looking at the Exedy as well.
The 2 bolts on dust shield are those are must in order to drop ? Mine is stuck I called quits today been thinking about it for past hour lol let me know. Thanks
@@iamalpha5134 Depends what kind of knocking, it could have been you grinded gears which I happens to me sometimes, but if its something else I'm not sure, try changing your transmission fluid.
Well the clutch pedal is a little more firm then Stock because the stage 2 clutch springs are a but stiffer, but it's not a big different just a little stiffer but feels so much better.
Did u have a slight vibration until your clutch was broke in I just picked up my car today from the shop and there is a slight vibration that goes through the car under load but everything shifts and drives well?
I'm not really sure don't remember, maybe there was but I didn't notice it because I installed polyurethane engine mounts, coilovers, stiffers suspension parts and much more things, right after the clutch job, I haven't drove the car right after replacing clutch, I only drove it after doing everything else to it.
@@dreygrach oh well i ended up figuring it out the mounted the header and ex-pipe flange wrong so it was rattling off the body and i think something else
I would recommend a different shifter knob then the stock one, you will find yourself missing shifts less than the stock one. I have a 2 pound weighted shift knob and it slides into gear lol. You can also buy something like this www.cjponyparts.com/prothane-shifter-bushing-red-urethane-pair-2005-2010/p/HW2818/ that will make the shifter have harder poly bushings for a notchier feel. The motor mounts and a new trans mount should also keep everything in line to have better shifts, and then theres the stainless clutch line and even dot 5.1 high heat break fluid if you want the shifting and engagement to be good. the list goes on and on lmao be careful and don't spend all your money like me
Theres a few that do well, I'm pretty sure what's recommended for the tr3650 is 3.2q of Dexron 3, used to be 3.8q, until a tsb came out for the transmission. Dexron 3 is no longer available, so people use Dex/Merc atf, but everyone I know uses either gm syncromesh, or pennzoil syncromesh.

That is no easy task. Especially in the driveway. You should be very proud of yourself! Nice work!
I am very proud I was able to do this and it worked perfectly when I never did anything even close to this.
It gets easier after multiple times changing out clutches finding the perfect one 😉
Oh I bet, and yes it always gets easier to do a thing every time you do it.
This dude watched Chris Fix for sure.
Damn I would had forgot that rear seal thanks for reminding me

Such a beauty😍😍🤤

Yep surprisingly it's actually lighter I thought it would be alot heavier.

Is that clutch pedal too firm? I just had this done and it's very firm to press.

whats up with the car now?
I can’t get the clutch pedal to stiffing up.. I even bought a vacuum pump to bleed from the master cylinder
How much cost for new Clutch ?
Damn dude I’m in natomas how much you charge to do this to my 2007 Mustang gt?
If you see this I still need it done please let me know
Could have made some money I just had it done

Thanks for the tips definitely will do, but would you know if that poly shifter bushing kit will work with the Barton short shifter?
@@dreygrach I'm not sure. The bottom part where it mounts would have to be the same, and I would guess it would be but I don't know for sure
Should you use manual transmission fluid instead of atf?

How many miles you replace the stock clutch🤔
I had about 55-60k miles on the car, don't remember exactly but it was slipping already since the car had more power.
Link to the kit?
