Everything went pretty good. I couldn't figure out the oiler system and I didn't care for the primer bulb location. Other than that it was an interesting project.
I just bought this saw from you on ebay 🙂😁 when I was a kid my dad bought a homelite just like this brand new and how I lived that saw! This is why I wanted this one. It has sentimental value to me.
Looks like the dial dooker is for the amount of chain oil. GOOD cleaning up job! I usually pop the blower housing off 1st thing and put the compressor to work. Homelite made some good stuff. I swapped a blue XL-12 for a 50 Stihl. Wished I still had the Stihl. SWEET saw but I have one for each hand. Hope to run the splitter. Son-in-law is needing wood since he now has a stove. I sawed a tank full out of the 261 and he's got plenty to split and haul. Then I'll cut some more and maybe haul some myself. Happy Day, Wallymus and GBWYall!
YEARS ago one winter when it was too cold to haul concrete, one of the stockpile truck drivers brought in a McCullough about the size of my fist to see if I could fix it. The shed was about 8x8, just for the batching equipment and a 220 heater under the bench. Compressor was down below. Tore it down and it just needed a fuel line BUT the driver was a tightwad so I spread parts all over and told him I didn't know if I'd EVER get it back together. Talk about getting BIG EYED! Then I told him to get me a fuel line. It ran and that was that. Good old days sort of!
@@MissouriOldTimer Right. I have an 85 Stihl and my Sweetie has an Echo about the same size. We just have to start yanking off parts the best we can do. GBWYall!
Were there more carb kits or did you get the last one? Can you link me to them? I just started working on one of these today and I'm pretty sure it will need a carb kit

I have one of those little saws, I really dislike working on it. everything is jammed in and you have to about take it all apart to do anything to it.
