    Hi Leon. A safety suggestion; remove bar and chain when troubleshooting powerhead.

    • @danielsmith8659
      @danielsmith8659 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      He isn’t troubleshooting the power head ….. his power head is a test unit that is a proven runner , he’s testing carbs and tuning them to run. He needs the bar and chain to adjust them with some amount of load on the saw so he can send them back to t customer is dang near ready to run condition. I understand your point is from safety .

      @@613kc for the sake of carb tuning , and giving a customer a ready to run carb. I know you can do everything he did with no bar….. but you’ll be doing it again with the bar , so . And probably again in the wood . So y not .

    People say you have to pull a Stihl saw a lot to get them running. I counted seven pulls on that Homey.

    You remember that one XL that you said you did not want to take apart the engine because it did not have a cam for the points find you a weed eater that they threw in the trash that still has spark and take the electronic ignition out of that that way you don't need points I did it and it works great

    I have the same carby that is in the first 5 minutes of the video. Any chance you could let me know what carb that is and what carby rebuild kit would be needed ?
    My chainsaw won't start, and i end up with a pool of fuel under the carb, so i think it's flooding.

    Is there a serviceable fuel filter on the saw?

    Seen what you said about the smoke. I grew up being taught that itf it ain't smoking alittle bit. There ain't enough oil in the gas? I run 40:1 in mine. What do u reccomend?

    Can you find carbs for these things? I'm tired of screwing with mine. It's beyond clogged and can't suck fuel out at all.

      Adam,
      Leon is great for Homelite stuff. If you’re looking for theory on what the L and H are all about, there is TH-cam channel name the repair specialist can cover the background.

    I recently got a Super XL for very cheap to tinker with and quickly stumbled upon your awesome channel. Thank you for making great videos on these old saws. The issue I have with mine is fuel coming out the exhaust. I set the Low on the carb to 1-1/2 turns out and the High to 1 turn out. I'm using 50:1 do I have the wrong ratio or what'd you do? either way you got a sub
