Remote Desktop App only supports Windows 10 pro and enterprise. So how can you setup remote desktop viewing on a Windows 10 PC/Laptop running Windows 10 Home Edition or Windows 10 Education edition?
In this video, I walk you through installing and setting up the VNC server and VNC Viewer.
The best part about this setup is that you can access your Windows 10 PC from almost any device. You can either use an iPad, Android phone, iPhone, or another Windows 10 PC to Remotely connect and control your PC/Laptop.

Quick Walkthrough

First, you need to install the VNC server on the computer that you would like to access and control remotely.
Second, install the VNC viewer on any device of your choice and that you will use to connect and control the Windows 10 PC.
Note: You need to create a free account with VNC first. This account is used to sign in on all the devices that you would like to use to connect to the remote computer that has the VNC server installed.

This video shows how to get control of the entire desktop which is well explained. Can u please share a method in which only one part of a users desktop can be shared to the end user (instead of entire desktop)
you mean a tab? you can try google chrome remote desktop, i have a guide for that too

At 11:35 in your video you got the same error I get from the pc with viewer how did you fix that because it looks like it skipped right after that?

Help, my VNC viewer in my android phone only has View Only option, not Interaction Option. I really want to use the touchscreen interaction but the app does not provide me any.
Great guide, thank you! Please can you help. Everything is set up and I had it running ok but it dropped my connection. I have it all ready again using my windows 10 laptop with viewer to connect to server on another windows 10 computer. When I double click on my laptop with the viewer to connect, it does ok and a message box appears on the server pc asking if I will accept or decline the connection. It times out after 5 secs. My problem is, I cannot "press" the "accept" button because (being disabled) I need to use a remote keyboard, not a mouse. I cannot find which keyboard shortcut will "press" this accept button. I have tried the tab, the enter, the + and generally tapping any key furiously which doesn't work. Ha ha. Do you know what the keyboard shortcut is that I need to use to activate the "accept" button on my computer running the server? Help is greatly appreciated.

I can't connect to my pc using mobile data means out of my network. I tried to do port forwarding in my router but still not able to access. I can access using my wifi. Thanks
mobile data network hotspot or from your phone directly? you dont need to forward your port for this

Is there a way to have it turn on the moment the computer does? I'm moving a desktop( to use as a weak server) and it is old. I don't want to lug a old monitor and cables and just want to set it up with ethernet and turn it on.
When I install the vnc, It doesn't show up the vnc password to finish the setup, Unlucky.

I’m windows 10 how do you fix a black screen if no monitor is plugged in. I don’t want to have to have a monitor plugged in.
Unfortuanately you need to have a monitor connected on the remote system to be able to see. There is a workaround mentioned here, maybe you can try this - community.spiceworks.com/topic/2267255-tightvnc-will-not-work-on-windows-10-unless-a-monitor-is-physically-connected

Regardelss of the netwrok, as long you are logged in to the same account that you have used on the other device, you should be able to connect.

Yes as long as both the PC have VNC setup and logged in with same account. You will be able to connect to it from any internet connection outside of your network even though it has a dynamic IP

I wish I had gone with the free version. I went with the trial and then paid to get RealVNC Essentials and it stopped working. If I had gone with the free version I would have been fine. Now I'm sitting here without access to my PC on another continent and RealVNC refuse to help me.
Oh if I pay them more money they say they will offer me technical support but there is no guarantee they van get it working.

What do I put on the Password in Authentication? Cause It didn't let me add a password on my server.
You can go back and set or reset the authentication password, have you setup the server correctly?
