Honestly the lore dump was a god-send for me. I had suspicions that the National Guard and Federal Military battled eachother due to the tape from Fear (I think it was called The Bog or something), but the fact that the CRM was founded by Pennsylvania NG who protected Philly from the Federals is amazing to know. Makes you wonder about what the National Guards from the other states did. We saw in California and Georgia that alot of them deserted their positions, but I wonder if Portland was able to exist because of Oregon NG protecting the city from Federal Forces like Philly
As Negan said "people are a resource" but I also think that they must've found out that bombing the city wasn't going to achieve anything but create more walkers like look at the horde that Rick rode into in Atlanta & the PNG probably found going for the head was the only way to neutralise them hence why they were able to retake the city & secure it (love to see a flashback about that).
I would think that a few months passed after Rick cut off his hand to heal enough for him to go back to culling. You're forgetting that Rick and Thorne join the CRM and train for a year before they get assigned to the Cascades. Then another year passes while they're there building the base. I believe it's around 8 years after the bridge when Michonne finds him.
Speaking of the timeline, I didn't find it messed up, but rather it all seemed rather in line and fitting in with the rest of the series. November 2013 is when Rick is kidnapped. Five years later, so in 2018, he cuts his hand. Immediately afterwards he enters the army and a year later he has access to Philadelphia, we are in 2019. On the day of the Omaha bombing (August 2020), Okafort informs him that he will have to build the Cascades in 12 months. A year later the Cascades are ready and the helicopter is shot down by Michonne, we are at the end of 2021. Meanwhile Michonne had left TWD in December 2020, so everything fits together in my opinion.
thats what i was thinking like sounds all right how it is like whys the world gotta be in 2024 when we havent even seen anything for years the other spin offs could def be set after The ones who live ...Carol my have said rick came back ..i think shes says dwight but could be there for more timeline setting
Absolutely love the amount of lore that was revealed in this episode. If I understood correctly, the CRM rose from the national guard in Philadelphia and they fought the army like Al mentioned in her tapes.
"The world is ours, and we know how to take it." Rick to Michonne (TWD S6 Ep 15) "We can make this whole damn world ours if we want to." Michonne to Rick (The Ones Who Live S1 Ep1)
You've got a great catch. Okafor has probably been collecting those Marine tags in search for his wife's tags. Wow..what if we find out that his wife somehow survived?
5 years after the bridge, Rick started training with the CRM . In his narration before his chemical- run - escape attempt , he says “ after years of training” . So we can assume that’s at least two to three years. With that being said, Michonne shooting down the helicopter could be set in 2022-2024 , depending on how many years Rick spent in training before his last escape attempt.
I know after the bridge they did a 6 year time jump and that's when we first saw Judith grown up with Rick's hat. Michonne didn't leave for a while after that I believe? I love talking all things TWD but the timeline is the one thing I don't harp on too much. It's so wacky I don't even like to debate people about it LOL I'm really glad you covered it though to try to piece it together. Great video!
All can say is, this was a awesome episode. I hope they can match it 5 more times. Michonnes episode will be quite different i'm sure. We should be back on the road again with a small group. That's the best part to me.
After Okafor told Rick to swear on the sword, he said to not let it take. I think he was saying to basically promise with your fingers crossed behind your back. Rick will get the red stripes, but will not truly be one of Beale’s men.
Okafor also said in the helicopter, that things like "As and Bs or Omaha will not happen again". Look at Rick in that scene. He understands what okafor meant: CRM is responsible for Omaha. The foreshadowing might suggest they are aiming to attack Portland, but Rick might attack the Summit in the Cascades, instead of Portland.
I think when it said ‘NOW’, it didn’t mean now in the viewer’s perspective in 2024 but it meant now in the characters’ perspective, as in now everything’s caught up to 2021/2022 in universe if that makes sense.
I enjoy your Walking Dead video reviews. As for the main show timeline, everyone is forgetting that after the Savior War of S8, there was about an 18 month time jump. S9 begins with a lot of changes, Alexandria rebuilt, a new windmill, and so on. Maggie has had her baby, etc. Then in 905 there is the 6 year time jump after the Bridge explosion. But Michonne doesn't leave to look for Rick until in S10, a year later. As for Rick, we start 5yrs after the Bridge, there is a year of "basic soldier training" before Okafor's secret classes begin, so 6 yrs. Then at the beginning of his 5th escape attempt the narration says "After ALL my years training with Okafor..." That sounds like at least a couple of more years of training with Okafor (could be even more), but I'll say 8 yrs. Then there is the year converting the base in the Cascades, so Rick has been gone at least 9 yrs IMO.
One thing that I really asked myself is does any caracters from World Beyond are going to return. Let's pretend Rick moves up more in the ranks, he could pull out Lt. Colonel Elizabeth Kublick out of jail......she turned against the CRM's plan in the last episode of WB.......
Its a little off topic..but I love how they put Rick's short bald headed friend in there. He is the prototype for your typical, genuine, "B". He's hyped up about working his way into some good living. Hyped about the work position he got. You can tell the writers put him in there to give us a prime example of a B.
@@bambamsboys7394 I thought about that. I don't think that goes against his B-hood. They're not necessarily mindless automatons. He's just being a helpful B to keep that first letter on point.
@lained yep. I just caught something else that's interesting. We know some time has passed since Rick was talking to Esteban on the bench right when he got his new job and girlfriend, up to when he sat down and helped Rick set up his 5th escape attempt. In that scene, he's wearing a wedding ring. So I think he marries the journalist.
Hey James! All I know is I loved the episode...I only have regular AMC and I watched last night. I didnt worry too much about timelines cause it makes me crazy! My only complaint was waaay too many commercials...in the worst spots too! But so far loving the story!
I think you have it correct, more or less. There's always been a bit of ambiguity with EXACT year(s). I'm certain they'll insert more specificity, when needed, throughout the rest of this. It could be another year before R&M make a break for home.
My gut tells me that Beale Takes down the Heli and Like the TWD writers like to do Michonne was in the right place right time as with most of the storys are now. Loved the first episode but i cant help but get that feeling since the first shot was directly at Okafor. Makes sense Beale would take them all out at once.
In the comics, there was a faction called the western alliance. I wonder if they’ll be remnants of the federal troops in US Marines and National Guard?
Rick wakes up around a month into the outbreak, roughly early October 2010, the outbreak going global in August. (They were sweaty because they filmed in Georgia in summer just go with it.) +8 months s2/3 (~9 months total) Judith is born around July 2011. +6 months s3/4 (1 year and a quarter). We’re around December 2011. Joe talks about New Years Eve in 416. No time really between 416 and 609 save for the 17 days it took to get from Georgia to Richmond, VA. We’re in January 2012. +1 between 609 and 610. A few months go by at the beginning of 614. We’re around May 2012 now. Glenn and Abraham die. +1 month for ALL OF s7 and 8. (Again, this is bonkers.) +19 months between 816 and 904. Judith is about two and a half years old. Michonne gets pregnant with RJ. This is around December 2013. Rick is taken around this time. +6 years at the end of 905. Judith is 8 and a half years old. RJ is six. It is December 2019, there about. +1 year and a few months between the pikes and 1001. We’re in February or March 2021, give or take a month. +Several months go by during season 10 and 11. We see a quite pregnant Annie and time mentioned is in months. I’d say it’s reasonable we’re around January 2022. + the ending montage in 11x24 happens a year after Pamela’s arrest. At some point between January 2022 and January 2023, Rick and Michonne reunite.
Omaha happens, they have just gotten the chemicals and another failed escape, Thorne tells him Oakafort knows about him, they fight, then he sends them to the cascades. So maybe 2022 accordijng to that
I believe other factions of the military, like the army and marines, joined the CRM overtime, they did start out being strong. It was hard work over years of getting new equipment and personnel.(because I doubt every army, federal unit and marines were willing to just kill, innocent civilians made them deserted to be with their families and communities. There’s whole communities scattered across the continent.)
I remember you making a video a while back on what happened to the U.S. military and a great question that no one really knew the answer too. However, now we know more and to how there were battles within government in order to save whoever each person wanted to save. At the end of the day I feel like now we can see that a big reason the walkers were able to take over was because of the orders that the government said to kill its own people. Who knows maybe if they all tried to work together and not kill off their own citizens then maybe all the soldiers would have listened and not abandoned their posts or kill each different type of government system like military vs national guard and etc. Also it answers the question that at least some form of the U.S. government still exists which is the CRM to some extent. Except as you said it is something completely different from the u.s. now but it still ties its history to the old world government and to show it did survive to some capacity.
I've gotta watch it again..but I got the impression that a good, maybe 4 years passed between "6 years later" and "now". making "now", now. I just get the impression that the creators and writers of the universe, have planned to catch much of the universe, up to speed, to the present. They started in 2010..and went season after season with only a few weeks or months having gone by..so I always felt like the time jumps were their way of catching the stories up, so that we the viewers can relate with an in-the-current-moment type of vibe.
Why didn't Okafor find the boots & phone but the bottle in the water? I think he said he tracked the bottle to an island or something? Did Jadis keep Alexandria a secret and Okafor found out about michone from the bottle message or did Jadis tell him?
not sure Jadis and Okafor spoke - surely they did but not sure the bottle was in the water and the bag was on the boat - drifted different places I guess He mentioned he found it by going to Rat Island
It would be interesting if this big secret Rick may discover is this community might have developed a cure or something but chose to never fulfill it as so they could write a new world, I know that the directors stated a long time ago that there wouldn’t be a cure because that changes things, but you never know, the whole message we’ve been getting with ricks fire story and the advertising of flames and fire, that it’s better to “ destroy “ so you can create
Yo James, how are you? I just finished watching the first episode (damn Europe) and it was honestly really amazing, I will try to recover all your video about it in the next few days but unfortunately I can't watch much since you lucky people on the other side of the Atlantic can spoiler the next episode ahahah. Anyway it was a fantastic come back and also the episode itself explained a lot about the backstory and the beginning. Let's see how it will unfold, ready for another ride with you💪🏻
About the Timeline I actually think that the script was from the original trilogy films so maybe the "NOW" it's just a way to make the viewer understand that it's the present so like the current arc but without indicating a precise time in the show timeline.
Michonne wouldn’t have gone off to find Rick until about 7 years after the bridge. There was a 6 year time jump and then Michonne was around for many more months on TWD before she left. By the series finale of TWD about 2 more years went by and Michonne wasn’t back. I think I’ll need Michonne’s timeline in episode two to know how long it took her to find Rick after leaving. Did it take her a year or more? 🤷🏾♀️
How old is Rick supposed to be at this point? Because man at the bridge he looked like a grandpa but now he looks similar to how he did during the savior war.
The walking dead timeline was always very confusing to me because they say it’s only been a little amount of time for events like 4 years into the apocalypse Rick gets taken as for us it’s been 8 and you see these other characters like Judith actively aging much older than what they say
So, weird theory I have. I already knew from spoilers that Oakfore dies, but didn't know how. I really thought the whole story Rick was telling about how his childhood home burnt down, and how his father set the fire it in order to save them and the farm...it felt very much like a metaphor. Very much like Rick was saying sometimes you have to burn it all down to build something better. I thought he was gonna tell that story and then be the one to kill Oakfore. The whole story, and the metaphor, however, might still be very relevant to the upcoming season. Maybe he has to go scorched earth for the greater good.
@@TWDExplained yeah, at that point in time it was hard to tell if he was just giving up and agreeing to be part of the CRM, or just pretending to be, so it was a little hard to tell what direction that was going. Maybe just me? 😂
I think the timeline has always been a mess because in an apocalyptic world hours, weeks, months have a different "meaning"(and "showing"it it's complicated). In my case,i don't care about it anymore..i would like to have more answers about all the crm's stuff( why is Philadelphia a secret, why omaha down, new york!..)
miss some skips cuz they werent titled but mentioned in dialogue... when they meet with okafur in stadium he mentions they been training for a year, so thats like 6 years after bridge, if bridge happened 3.5 years into the fall, that means we have roughly half a year until omaha - that must be the time between meeting with okafur and saving the little girl at the plant, cuz shortly after that we see rick and thorne reacting to omaha, which is 10 year mark.. this is when rick decides to give up trying to get away, they build the base and it seems to skip to "now" which is 1 year later 2 max, but okafur does mention "its been a good year" - i still find it weird that ricks says "im in" like no time has past - was he just reassuring bro cuz he said " you dont be talking much these days" idk lol also rick says he played good solider for years during the plant mission
Yeah, thats probably true. I rewatched the episode looking for any little details and all they said was something about trains taking people to the middle of the country. That does seem like it would be an organized effort but maybe that was where the idea came from later on.@@TWDExplained
The way I understood the episode we first jump to five years after the bridge explosion then we jumped another year with Rick’s mini training montage. Than last we jumped one more year during the base setup Timelapse. So at minimum it’s been seven years since the bridge explosion making the year in the show either 2021 or 2022.
I think ones who live are a year or two behind the end of TWD season 11. Rick is cutting his throat with the glass during the fall of Omaha. That’s year 10 of the fall. Then they time jump a year during the building of the Cascades base. Michonne has been gone about year when she finds Rick. But you’re right the timeline is a mess.
Surely with the huge success of the first episode and I’m guessing they don’t take the foot off the gas, that we will get a second season or a new solo spin off with Rick battling against the powers of crm. Kinda wish it wasn’t a michonne and Rick spin off now cos it would of been really interesting to get a few seasons of this in more detail
Rick should fully join CRM and bring his people to the city... I think that would be the best bet. Why should they fight the CRM? They seem decent compared to all the other groups they have encountered in the past. His new friend "water management dude" seems happy enough living there. Yes, I know... Daryl, Negan, Morgan, Alicia, Madison, Michone and everyone joining Rick for some finale batlle against the CRM would make for good TV. But Rick traveling around finding everyone and making them join CRM would be the smarter move in my view.
When Carol said on the radio to Daryl, I think she said 'jadis came back' when ricks helicopter went down, the rescue team would find rick missing. Jadis would suspect Rick has gone back to Alexandria if given the chance Rick would say to michone they can't go back to Alexandria because Jadis & others know where he's from and who he could tell about CRM. Jadis may go back to spy and get found by Carol etc
@@MrFrankieCheechI think it’s gonna be Rick. After reuniting with Michonne I don’t think there’s a chance he doesn’t go back at least for a bit to see his daughter. I think it cut out for Daryl bc than he would rush back and have no reason to stay in France. So I think season 2 of Daryl and Carol will take place with Carol coming to find Daryl to tell him that Rick is alive. Leading to some type of reunion
Your right about the timeline. You could go all day because they are not good about telling you how time goes by. They either don't care or expect you to put together. I noticed more when I watched the original show over serveral times. There are alot hints but I have no idea what to do with the kids because both Judith & Carl shot up like rockets and I think they look older than they are unless we are suppose to take that as more time going by. You can watch Rick's beard grow like for example when he shaves it off when he gets Alexandria and then over next episodes you see it getting more stuble. Another ones is when Aaron shows Daryl motorcycle shop in his house and then you see him on Motorcycle a couple of episode down line. It would take some time to build motorcycle. I wish they would tell us because it sure would help in knowing how everything lines up. When they said 5 yrs after the bridge, I was like oh ok then its lined up to time jump on original show. I guess in killing Okafur so early he was suppose to be bug in Pearl & Rick's ear and hope they will see it through but I think they have their own agendas. I wish they had explained Fire walkers more. I wondered about that. Good catch! I didn't catch one of books being same one Morgan had.
I was thinking what if Rick was in a position to “Save the world” “save the future” in some sense however that would mean everyone back home in Alexandra etc would also die. Not just killing his wife but everyone that he fought the apocalypse with including Judith. His family. Or the entire future . Just a thought
@@brianachim2670 I think she did some consignee job, and got moved up quickly because she bought in fully, and perhaps informed.. she was trained by Huck, but moved up quickly, and went into the MPs.
Green and Blue Canisters that's a good question the Canisters doesn't come back with the Helicopter I remember in Season 1 World Beyond We saw some Helicopters with Canisters
Michonne couldn’t have shot down the helicopter 6 years later. That’s when the whisperers took place and she was apart of that until later into season 10. And I believe the gap from 9x15 to 10x1 is about a year. So Michonne should have shot down the helicopter 7 years into ricks disappearance.
I hope this help.... It looks like Scott, Danai and Andrew have made an affect to clean up their time line,, between the 6 year time jump on TWD and TOWL in some of their interviews. Therefore, we can use these as a baseline to move back and forth, since they provided us with this information. I posted this in another comment reaction video. Here it is....... Danai gave us some information during her interviews. In the Xfinity interview she said it had been 6 years since the bridge. That Judith was a precocious 12 year old and RJ 5 years old.. In another interview she stated that Rick had been gone a total of 9 years and in another she mentioned that Rick had a 5 year old son that looked like him. We also got timeline information from the 1st episode. We hear Rick narrating his letters to Michonne in which he outlines just some of the things that happened to him. 5 years after the bridge we now know it was Rick's 4th escape attempt when he cut off his hands. He joined the CRM when his friend gave him the idea to use it to escape, since there was more opportunity. His 5th attempt failed because of a child. He asked Thorne to let him go, but she told him he would be putting his loved ones in danger because Okafor knew stuff about him. It was during his fight with Okafor, that we found out about his 3rd escape attempt. The one where Rick put the message in a bottle and threw his boots and phone onto the boat. The items Michonne found in the 6 year time jump on TWD, the point in which she went looking for him. So when we see the NOW on our screen, that means we are in the present day.... 9 years after the bridge, and 3 years after Michonne set out to look for Rick. That is 1 year of Rick planning his escape, and 2 years of committing himself to the CRM, all attempts to escape now gone.......
@@wendyc1902 apparently she was.... We have to remember that there is also a time span after Carl dies (S8) and the 6 year time jump in Season 9 on TWD, however, they don't tell us what it is. Which is typical of the writers, which is why the whole TWD timelines are messed up across all the sites because of fans guessing what they are, based on information supplied on the show. Which I believe is why on TOWL they went out of their way to leave markers. On our screens they use time stamps like 5 years after the bridge and NOW meaning present day. The actors themselves gave us information in their dialogues. And Scott, Danai and Andrew cleared up the rest of the timeline in regards to TWD and TOWL. Therefore, we now know that Rick has been gone for 9 years, Michonne went to find him 6 years after the bridge, because she found his boots and phone (Ricks 3rd escape attempt), that when Michonne arrived in present day, she had been gone 3 years.....
@@beangelic1000 That doesn’t make sense, that’s an extra year that comes out of nowhere. Have you considered her possibly being wrong? Like no way RJ is five.😂
so why cut off his own hand? i mean your on the run surrounded by walkers and the military so you decide to cripple yourself. i just didn't get that part
I know this is a far reach but would the equivalent of Okafor's choice to kill his wife and fellow military people be a threat to Rick's people - Alexandria...?... I keep wondering how Morgan can potentially fit back in AND Thorpe does say to Rick (when he was trying to escape) that they know everything about him.... Okafor revealed he read Rick's letters... so if they know about Michonne, isn't it likely they know about where he is from and who is there?... and this could connect Dead City, Daryl and Carol, Fear (dwight and sheri returning to the sanctuary/WD)....
I don't think the helicopter was shot down in year 6. Rick had to do 6 years as in consignment before he could even enter the city and join the military. Then Rick was refusing to enter the city even after his 6 years were up. When he finally did join he had training and more. After he attacked Olgafor, Rick and Thorne had to serve 12 months getting that building together. The math seems to be at least 8 years or more
I don't think Rick knows anything about Jadis up to the point of the story after ep 1. We saw him looking at her halfway out of consciousness when she first scooped him up. But in his narration he says he only remembers waking up in the hospital, or wherever the helicopter took him. I'm guessing Jadis wasn't there..and storyline-wise, they purposely wanted us to know that he doesn't know (or remember) of Jadis being there up to that point.
It also says the last episode of the main series is May 8th 2023 - May 8th 2024 with why one year later scenes. It says Rick blew up the bridge on December 20th 2013
@@TWDExplained that’s not what I’m saying. You said it only seems like 6 years after the bridge before Michonne finds Rick. But the 2nd episode starts either 6 years after the bridge then does another time jump that says NOW
The time lines add up. The show does a good job at showing us key moments. But it's up to the audience to do the math. 6 years as a consignee, few years to move up the ranks, Omaha, a year in the mountains. It's all there just if you're spoon feed the info it's bad story telling I think
the timeline isnt that messed up just look at the walking dead universe timeline wiki. they are adding the ones who live now and its all connecting. plus the here's negan 12 years is only off by a couple months.
No it’s not. It’s off by at least a year. According to the timeline wiki the time jump to the whisperers arc is 8 years. That’s incorrect. It’s 6 years. People say by the time ricks been taken it’s 3+ years or 3 and a half years. So 9 and a half years let’s call it in the whisperers arc. Season 9 episode 15 to the season 10 premiere is 6 months. Maybe a year. But in that range. It should be passed 11 years during the middle of the commonwealth arc with the 6 month time jump and then 12 years at the end of the show.
@@TWDExplained Yeah so do the math. 6 years later is also the whisperers. 10 years in during season 9 as well. 9x15 to 10x1 is about a year time jump isn’t it?
In World beyond Season 2 Ep 1 when Elizabeth Kublek was supposedly taking Hope to see her dad she instead takes her to Albany NY and tells her that they are 10 years into the apocalypse so after the events of Campus Colony and Omaha being destroyed by the CRM the year is 2020 therefore the current timeline of TOWL is 2020 because Rick and Thorne see the news of the destruction of Omaha.Dead city may take place before the end of Fear because Dwight and Sherry went back to sanctuary to rebuild it and The Croat went back to sanctuary to find Negan but it was destroyed so Dead City takes place before the finale of Fear so every show should now be all caught up with TOWL year 2020
after they see Omaha on TV they spent a year building Cascades Base - maybe more time passed than that but from other commenters it seems it should be 2021 when the show said NOW
@@TWDExplained Yes I believe that All timelines are now in 2021 Since Rick has been gone since 2014 for 6 years which is when S9 of TWD takes place but then at the end of S11 another year takes place so TWD ends in 2021
@@TWDExplained but then it’s kinda confusing with Fear because in the finale of Fear it’s also 2020 and Dwight and sherry went to go rebuild the sanctuary but when the Croat says he went back to find Negan it was destroyed but this could mean The Croat went before the events of TWD finale and Fear Finale which would make more sense
Yeah it should still be around what the show ended at which was 13.5 years so 13.5 years to 14 years into the apocalypse *edit* also I’m not just making up what I think the timeline is I’ve just seen different websites that make sense of it all and what I’m getting is around 13-13.5 years mostly 13.5 years from most of them so I’d assume the ones who live is at 13.5-14 years
I think Michonne's journey didn't start till about 8 yrs after the bridge episode. When Michonne's group shoots down Rick's helicopter it's about 4-5 years after Rick has that first scene in the flight sim, in total their reunion is approx 12-14 years since the start so Rick has been at CRM for approx 10 years (+/-) putting it inline or just before Daryl's show and Dead City (approx 2024 🤷♂️)
@@axelmorel654 Okay so clarify to me. Episode 1 takes place in those first 7 years Rick went missing. Then during the 7th year Michonne finds him? Was it 5 years as a Consignee and then 2 years CRM.
No way they will make Rick kill Michonne or Michonne kill Rick lol. And if we don't get a reunion in the end of this series with Daryl and Judith and other it means they planning to have a new series after Daryl spinoff ends. We will have a new series for a reunion with everyone and a final battle against then CRM. But Rick won't die for sure.
Agreed! I live for lore! lol
That's what I'm thinking too, it's been at least a minimum of 8 years
That would just about be on track with the end of the walking dead, right before that last 1 year time jump, then I believe. Makes sense.
Yes I can agree - it should be around 2021 when it says NOW
Absolutely love the amount of lore that was revealed in this episode. If I understood correctly, the CRM rose from the national guard in Philadelphia and they fought the army like Al mentioned in her tapes.
that is what I understood also

So far "The Ones Who Live" is my favorite of the new spinoffs!
5 years after the bridge, Rick started training with the CRM
I never understood "now" to mean our now, as in 2024, but their "now," as in current day in their timeline.
yes that does seem to be the way it is
All can say is, this was a awesome episode.
Rick will get the red stripes, but will not truly be one of Beale’s men.
yeah that sounds correct - thanks!
Okafor also said in the helicopter, that things like "As and Bs or Omaha will not happen again". Look at Rick in that scene. He understands what okafor meant: CRM is responsible for Omaha.
The foreshadowing might suggest they are aiming to attack Portland, but Rick might attack the Summit in the Cascades, instead of Portland.
plausible theory
I think when it said ‘NOW’, it didn’t mean now in the viewer’s perspective in 2024 but it meant now in the characters’ perspective, as in now everything’s caught up to 2021/2022 in universe if that makes sense.
it does seem to be that way yes
The Book Art of Piece oh I remember now Morgan and the Eastman what a Easter egg Appearance
One thing that I really asked myself is does any caracters from World Beyond are going to return.
Let's pretend Rick moves up more in the ranks, he could pull out Lt. Colonel Elizabeth Kublick out of jail......she turned against the CRM's plan in the last episode of WB.......
Really Good Episode 👍So far So good! 👌 The Awesomeness that is The TWD UNIVERSE Continues! ✊😊😆👊🍁♈
Its a little off topic..but I love how they put Rick's short bald headed friend in there.
He is the prototype for your typical, genuine, "B".
He's hyped up about working his way into some good living. Hyped about the work position he got.
You can tell the writers put him in there to give us a prime example of a B.
yeah that was one happy dude haha
Not exactly a B, he thought for himself when he gave Rick the info he needed 👍🏻
@@bambamsboys7394 I thought about that. I don't think that goes against his B-hood. They're not necessarily mindless automatons. He's just being a helpful B to keep that first letter on point.
@lained yep. I just caught something else that's interesting. We know some time has passed since Rick was talking to Esteban on the bench right when he got his new job and girlfriend, up to when he sat down and helped Rick set up his 5th escape attempt. In that scene, he's wearing a wedding ring. So I think he marries the journalist.
6 years after the bridge Michonne is facing whisperers not shooting the chopper
Not immediately 6 years after the bridge, she fights the whisperers for the rest of season 9 and part of season 10 before leaving the main show
Hey James! All I know is I loved the episode...I only have regular AMC and I watched last night. I didnt worry too much about timelines cause it makes me crazy! My only complaint was waaay too many commercials...in the worst spots too! But so far loving the story!
yeah I watch mostly no-commercial stuff so when I do have them it's weird.
we finally know who was responsible for Atlanta and Los Angeles
Just watched it before watching this I can't talk im so speechless and my friend feels inspired so he's working on his manga
An easy way to explain and or understand the time line in TWD Universe is, "A big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff"
haha yep
I think you have it correct, more or less. There's always been a bit of ambiguity with EXACT year(s). I'm certain they'll insert more specificity, when needed, throughout the rest of this. It could be another year before R&M make a break for home.
Would love to see TWD provide a list of the events over all the shows chronologically at some point...
I know it called hidden city for a reason, but those tall buildings look partially destroyed. wouldnt that be a safety hazard for those below lol
Lol great question
ya why not rebuild the city
My gut tells me that Beale Takes down the Heli and Like the TWD writers like to do Michonne was in the right place right time as with most of the storys are now. Loved the first episode but i cant help but get that feeling since the first shot was directly at Okafor. Makes sense Beale would take them all out at once.
In the comics, there was a faction called the western alliance. I wonder if they’ll be remnants of the federal troops in US Marines and National Guard?
Rick wakes up around a month into the outbreak, roughly early October 2010, the outbreak going global in August. (They were sweaty because they filmed in Georgia in summer just go with it.)
+8 months s2/3 (~9 months total) Judith is born around July 2011.
(Again, this is bonkers.)
+19 months between 816 and 904.
Yes we have so many more answers now! Thanks for watching Osacrpro!!!
That's pretty much how I pieced it together to. 5-6 years as a worker 2-4 years as a soldier. Rick at CRM for 7-10 years?
Why didn't Okafor find the boots & phone but the bottle in the water? I think he said he tracked the bottle to an island or something? Did Jadis keep Alexandria a secret and Okafor found out about michone from the bottle message or did Jadis tell him?
not sure Jadis and Okafor spoke - surely they did but not sure
the bottle was in the water and the bag was on the boat - drifted different places I guess
He mentioned he found it by going to Rat Island
It would be interesting if this big secret Rick may discover is this community might have developed a cure or something but chose to never fulfill it as so they could write a new world, I know that the directors stated a long time ago that there wouldn’t be a cure because that changes things, but you never know, the whole message we’ve been getting with ricks fire story and the advertising of flames and fire, that it’s better to “ destroy “ so you can create
Better to destroy so you can thrive!
Hey! Yes it may be that Now is just Now in the show?
@@TWDExplained yeah exactly what I was thinking like saying "current day" but yeah not meaning exactly 2024
Loved the vid ❤
Thank you very much!
I think Okafor died one year after Omaha
No it was way over a year it was ATLEAST 2 years bc in the helicopter he mentions for the past 2 years Rick hasn’t said much
I don’t think now means now for us, it probably means current day for characters, whatever that is.
yes it seems that way
Michonne wouldn’t have gone off to find Rick until about 7 years after the bridge.
Michone starts her journey 6 years after. She spends multiple years looking for Rick. It not 2020 when the helicopter is shot down.
Great video
Thanks!
How old is Rick supposed to be at this point? Because man at the bridge he looked like a grandpa but now he looks similar to how he did during the savior war.
They de-aged him 😂
An assassin Rick hell yeah.
a channel called screen crush did a good timeline breakdown
Maybe he has to go scorched earth for the greater good.
it was a metaphor - and I think Rick was kinda agreeing with Okafor's plan?
Do you think the 2 guys in the bar in the episode nebraska in season 2 were referring to Omaha settlement?
They hadn't even thought of writing such a place back then - but it can be retcon'd
Yeah, thats probably true. I rewatched the episode looking for any little details and all they said was something about trains taking people to the middle of the country. That does seem like it would be an organized effort but maybe that was where the idea came from later on.@@TWDExplained
Rick was in training for a year before he goes to build the base thing.
The way I understood the episode we first jump to five years after the bridge explosion then we jumped another year with Rick’s mini training montage. Than last we jumped one more year during the base setup Timelapse. So at minimum it’s been seven years since the bridge explosion making the year in the show either 2021 or 2022.
I can agree - seems maybe late 2021 ??
But Rick traveling around finding everyone and making them join CRM would be the smarter move in my view.
he would need to 'win' first - he is totally against being a prisoner inside CR (the way he sees it)
When Carol said on the radio to Daryl, I think she said 'jadis came back' when ricks helicopter went down, the rescue team would find rick missing. Jadis would suspect Rick has gone back to Alexandria if given the chance
Rick would say to michone they can't go back to Alexandria because Jadis & others know where he's from and who he could tell about CRM. Jadis may go back to spy and get found by Carol etc
I think Carol is talking about Morgan in the 'came back' scene...
Just a hunch...
And Carol is that “mystery” character that’s supposed to show up in the show. The one way to link Daryl and Rick back I see at all is Carol.
The consignees are allowed into the city on furlough days.
Do you think Morgan will arrive in season 2 and do you think we will get to see heath
It would be about time we saw Heath again 😶
Not sure about a S2
no Heath
There will be a sacrifice for sure
The fire walkers were the ones Michonne shot with that torpedo thing
The timelines don't seem to be the same for that to be the case
NOW is just the present day of action in the story imo...
They did the same in the Commonwealth story, 6months, 3 days ago, present day, 2days ago...
Yeah could be - seems they want to get the stories more up to present date though
Agree
I always see present day on a show as present day for the characters.
Just like if they were to say "now" on a show like Game of Thrones
I think the first episode shows 2 years became Okafor says Rick was training for 1 year and then they build for another year
I was thinking what if Rick was in a position to “Save the world” “save the future” in some sense however that would mean everyone back home in Alexandra etc would also die. Not just killing his wife but everyone that he fought the apocalypse with including Judith. His family. Or the entire future . Just a thought
No, Rick was working as a consignee for SIX years before he could get inside.
I think I said they have to go 6 years - it was in Rick's voice over and the guy on the bench said it also
Why didn’t Jadis have to be a consignee too?
she was already in crm, remember from the walking dead series when she rescued rick for crm@brianachim2670
@@emfox7781But she wasn’t IN the CRM, she just knew about them.
Michonne in season 10 is 2021
I hope this help....
But RJ is 4 years younger than Judith not 7?
@@brianachim2670
And no way was Judith 12. I thought it was clear she was 9 after the time jump and she meets Yumiko, Luke, Kelly , Connie, and Magna
@@brianachim2670 Danai let us know that Judith was 12
@@wendyc1902 apparently she was....
Like no way RJ is five.😂
so why cut off his own hand? i mean your on the run surrounded by walkers and the military so you decide to cripple yourself. i just didn't get that part
the one person sitting on the Bench with Rick Grimes Esteban Garcia Played by Actor Frankie Quinones
yep - he was funny
Could it be the explosion that happened at the end of TWD World Beyond? When they blew up the gas?
the fire walkers? I do not think so
Does anyone know how old RJ was when Michonne left to find Rick? I think Rick was kidnapped before he even knew Michonne was pregnant, right?
correct
I know this is a far reach but would the equivalent of Okafor's choice to kill his wife and fellow military people be a threat to Rick's people - Alexandria...?... I keep wondering how Morgan can potentially fit back in AND Thorpe does say to Rick (when he was trying to escape) that they know everything about him.... Okafor revealed he read Rick's letters... so if they know about Michonne, isn't it likely they know about where he is from and who is there?... and this could connect Dead City, Daryl and Carol, Fear (dwight and sheri returning to the sanctuary/WD)....
You should cover the episode that took place 35 years in apocalypse in episode 4 I believe of tales of the walking Dead
I have - I covered every episode
@@TWDExplained I appreciate that I will actually go look and watch that hole playlist and watch your new video posted like 10 minutes ago lol 😂
I knew the NG had something to do with this.
There are two swords Beale’s and Michonne’s.
The math seems to be at least 8 years or more
Thorn lowkey snitched off on Rick and okafor
I don't think Rick knows anything about Jadis up to the point of the story after ep 1.
We saw him looking at her halfway out of consciousness when she first scooped him up.
But in his narration he says he only remembers waking up in the hospital, or wherever the helicopter took him.
I'm guessing Jadis wasn't there..and storyline-wise, they purposely wanted us to know that he doesn't know (or remember) of Jadis being there up to that point.

The walking dead wiki says michone leaves to go after Rick in August 2022
It also says the last episode of the main series is May 8th 2023 - May 8th 2024 with why one year later scenes. It says Rick blew up the bridge on December 20th 2013
Yes the start and the end of season 11 is 2019
Does it bother anyone else Michonne killed one of the few guys that could have made the crm a positive force if beagle was overthrown?
I recommend anyone and you to rewatch the last episode of the walking dead 11x24
The ending makes more sense now 😊
No, episode 2 says 6 years after when it starts. Then before she finds Rick, the screen says now. So it lines up fine.
6 years after the bridge
TWD Season 9 episode 6 occurs 6 years after the bridge.....how long after did Michonne leave?
season 10
Around 14 months
6 years. That’s the same time period as World Beyond. Omaha was destroyed in the 6th year.
Omaha was destroyed 10 years in
@@TWDExplained Yeah so do the math. 6 years later is also the whisperers. 10 years in during season 9 as well. 9x15 to 10x1 is about a year time jump isn’t it?
In World beyond Season 2 Ep 1 when Elizabeth Kublek was supposedly taking Hope to see her dad she instead takes her to Albany NY and tells her that they are 10 years into the apocalypse so after the events of Campus Colony and Omaha being destroyed by the CRM the year is 2020 therefore the current timeline of TOWL is 2020 because Rick and Thorne see the news of the destruction of Omaha.Dead city may take place before the end of Fear because Dwight and Sherry went back to sanctuary to rebuild it and The Croat went back to sanctuary to find Negan but it was destroyed so Dead City takes place before the finale of Fear so every show should now be all caught up with TOWL year 2020
after they see Omaha on TV they spent a year building Cascades Base - maybe more time passed than that
but from other commenters it seems it should be 2021 when the show said NOW
@@TWDExplained Yes I believe that All timelines are now in 2021 Since Rick has been gone since 2014 for 6 years which is when S9 of TWD takes place but then at the end of S11 another year takes place so TWD ends in 2021
@@TWDExplained but then it’s kinda confusing with Fear because in the finale of Fear it’s also 2020 and Dwight and sherry went to go rebuild the sanctuary but when the Croat says he went back to find Negan it was destroyed but this could mean The Croat went before the events of TWD finale and Fear Finale which would make more sense
Unfortunately we find out in episode 2 about the yellow and green canisters that’s all I’m saying x
Yeah it should still be around what the show ended at which was 13.5 years so 13.5 years to 14 years into the apocalypse *edit* also I’m not just making up what I think the timeline is I’ve just seen different websites that make sense of it all and what I’m getting is around 13-13.5 years mostly 13.5 years from most of them so I’d assume the ones who live is at 13.5-14 years
Why was only rick asking for Judith? And not RJ? 😮
He "died" before Michonne even knew she was pregnant. He doesn't know about RJ
Oh my , ok didnt know about that, well i knew i probably just forgot lol
He doesn't know about RJ
In the épisodes 1 is 3 years is see 2019 , after 6 years of consigne is 2020 the destruction of omaha and after 1 years passe and 2021 is now
5 years of Consignee. He left that position shortly after cutting off his hand.
The end of épisodes is 2021 and réunion with michonne and the next épisodes is 2022 2023 ect
No it’s not. Rick reunited with Michonne at the end of the episode.
@@OWmyDragonballz yes the reunited with michonne in 2021
@@axelmorel654 Okay so clarify to me. Episode 1 takes place in those first 7 years Rick went missing. Then during the 7th year Michonne finds him?
Was it 5 years as a Consignee and then 2 years CRM.
@@OWmyDragonballz yes is explain consigne for 6 years
@@axelmorel654 I thought it said 5 years as Consignee and he cut arm off then he trained in CRM.
Wtf episode 2 and 3 are leaked😮
where is episode 3 leaked
Yeah I watched episode 2, but where is 3?
No way they will make Rick kill Michonne or Michonne kill Rick lol. And if we don't get a reunion in the end of this series with Daryl and Judith and other it means they planning to have a new series after Daryl spinoff ends. We will have a new series for a reunion with everyone and a final battle against then CRM. But Rick won't die for sure.
