Here's my theory: Rick is immune now to the zombie virus, he cauterized his cut hand on a walker that was NOT completely done (see Last of us case), so he took a small amount of the disease, not like a full bite that could turn him in a few hours...
Another thing I just noticed before Rick leaves the helicopter he presses a button on his belt I'm wondering if that's a tracker he activated thinking he was in danger which would now mean they're coming to Rick & Michonnes location
Yes. My thoughts too about hearing his voice. Seeing some of his mannerism again and that walk; the jaw clench; his massaging his eyes with his thumb and forefinger.I didn't really realize how much I missed this character.
Very strong opening episode, one of the strongest in the whole TWD universe tbh. Andrew is on top form as always and as usual he conveys so much by his eyes alone. I could really feel the desperation and pain he was feeling and I'm glad they didn't wait till halfway through the season to reunite him and Michonne They did a good job of showing just how powerful the CRM are

My husband gave up on TWD after season 7. He watched this with me and was just as excited and pleased with the episode. He almost regretted not finishing the original series. lol 😂 LOOVVED this premiere ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
To me TWD ended when they got caught first time by Negan. Their hubris led to them all be killed by him, the end. They went through hell and got to the point they thought nothing could harm them, made rash decisions, didn't take the threat seriously and thus they died, as a cautionary tale for all of us. Anything after that is not real, ghost stories that i don't care about.
I mean there were some issues after season 7. I definitely felt like they went in circles but once season 9 started, it was unique in my opinion again. The show even ended with the quote "We Are the Ones who Live" I totally get y'all but seeing the end to the show gave closure whereas for people who never finished, I'm sure it feels like an open book
@@aaaagamedev3524For me I prefer the ending of reaching Alexandria the second half of season 5 when Rick heard children voices and his harderned expression soften. For me that was a greating ending of the show if they ever ended it there. Another good ending is season 6 episode 9 no way out when they saved Alexandria from the zombies herds.
One of the many easter eggs that made me gasp: when Esteban found Rick at bench minus one hand lol and he said "can I touch it?". Shout to Negan saying that to Coraaalll.😊
I absolutely loved the first episode!!! I went through all the emotions with this one. So good to see Rick back and glad they didn't delay the Richonne's reunion
This is my first time watching anything twd related since s7 and it reminded me exactly why I fell in love with this show to begin with😭The Richonne chemistry is still off the charts and I'll always be here for it!! Can't wait for more reactions and especially for this series :)
the scene where rick tells his story of growing up on a farm made me cry because of hershel he was like a father figure to rick during his years and season of being the leader of the group and needing everyone to trust rick for his reasons.

RICK GRIMES IS BACK!! I'm so happy we're finally getting comic book Rick with the one hand. I don't get why people are upset with it. He was the only one leashed because he kept trying to escape.
What I really love about Rick losing his hand is that now we can bring back tension that’s been missing with Rick against the Walkers. Walkers have been, historically, an inconvenience to him since like season 6. Now, Rick can be handicap if the writers want him to be, or they can make him extra badass with the knife hand. Really smart idea imo.
idk why but seeing andrew with that hand and that hidden blade makes me want him to be in an assassins creed movie. also Thorne i can tell is a way more better and unforgettable character than the whole group in world beyond
I freaking love that the CRM gave Rick a Assassins Creed Hidden Blade. This episode is without a doubt the best episode in a while. At first i wasnt too sure if Rick losing his hand was a good idea but now i actually like it and ill explain why. Rick cutting off his hand just like Mason said shows us what Rick is willing to do to escape and it also establishes that no matter how far you are willing to go to escape it will all be for nothing because of how impossible it is to escape tge CRM. Also Rick getting Military training is gonna make him more OP. Your guys's reaction at the end is the same reaction that i had lol.

I agree with you guys, I was really worried and disliking the idea that rick might lose his hand, because the writers of the comics said that rick losing his hand was their biggest mistake. but they did it, and its starting to grow on me, not just because of the hella awesome assasins creed type glove-hand, but because its like you said, they wanted to show that rick would go through any length to get back to his family, even if it meant cutting his own hand off. and they portrayed it beautifully. BRAVO GIMPLE!

rick becomes old and his hand injury really affects him and makes him a leader instead of the muscle and thats all part of his arc: so i love that it has happened. like everything else its all part of his arc

I don’t see what’s so wrong with him losing his hand. Robert kirkman regretting the comic decision to cut his hand off makes no sense. He said it limits his character but Rick grimes was one of the most badass and capable characters in the comics without his hand the entire series.

I wanna see what happens after they meet but I got a bad feeling that Episode 2 is gonna be Michonne's perspective leading up to the helicopter meeting because it's a common trope when two characters are following different paths and then meet up. It does flash back right after the meet up to show how the other person got there.
Watched this episode then had to come STRAIGHT HERE for this reaction, been working since it aired, finally got the time and boy it did not disappoint, I'm just starting this reaction now and already know it'll follow in a similar vein, HE'S BACK BOYS!!!!

I wanna see what happens after they meet but I got a bad feeling that Episode 2 is gonna be Michonne's perspective leading up to the helicopter meeting because it's a common trope when two characters are following different paths and then meet up. It does flash back right after the meet up to show how the other person got there.
