Great videos Tom. Thank you. I just want to find out, do you have videos covering issues to do with scope, planning, risk, stakeholder management etc in your play list
hello sir,How great you are to make these videos. I really appreciate them. I am a civil engineer with little experience in construction. I am now thinking of shifting to construction management. I have some questions. Do your lessons go parallel with American methods of construction. My second question is can you tell me with which once of your playlist should I start to study.
Hi Haben, yes pretty much like the American, there might be some minor differences in safety and building code but that’s about it. Some things are total American like the Lean processes. I would suggest Introduction to Construction, then residential, then site mgmt, if you have Msproject they can occur during site mgmt, then cost control and then bus Mgmt which im currently working on. I also have the tools techniques plylist which is excellent to refer to throughout. I hope that helps. Im happy you are enjoying them 😀
Thanks a lot being such a mentor, I am new in MS Project have 1 complication like, in duration column most of the task showing with decimal if I remove the decimal schedule convert to the manual.how can I modify in auto schedule? Since I am using 11 hour a day in std calenders for the project.
Thank you Sir, this and the previous videos were very useful to me as i was interested in tracking specifically wishing you all the best and great success please keep going
@@TomStephensontraining Thanks Mr Tom, yeah now i am learning now from your videos and apply them in my work Is there a tool or a way in MS Project like claim digger in primavera ?
Hello Tom! Thank you for your very interesting videos! Nevertheless, I still have a question about organizing tasks which is the follows: Consider there is a task to be done which is divided in 10 subtask. Every subtask takes a day and you can only do one subtask at a time, so the overall task takes 10 days. But: There is no specific order in which these subtasks have to be done. You may decide it on the spot or whatever comes handy next. So I would be reluctant to line them all up with finish to start relationships because it does not reflect reality and maybe I run into troubles when I update the plan and did not do the tasks in the order I planned them beforehand. However, I want to reflect that the sum of the tasks takes 10 days. Do you have a neat idea how to do that? Or is it maybe even explained in one of your videos (up to now I only saw the "Made Easy Tutorial" upto this one). Greetings from germany!
Hi, I would suggest giving them all a 9 day lag to the seem succeeding activity. Thencwhen you update you can put the actual dates given they all have flexibility within that zone.
@@TomStephensontraining do you have a video explaining how to do this? I'm not sure I understand the response you gave the OP. What would the dependencies between the tasks be? Duration of each? How to set up the 9 day lag?
Hello Tom! How about revising a program for the implementation of EOT? I have problem on the "% Complete" because it changes automatically when we extend the duration of tasks and it causes my actual cost to be changed. Is there any video of your showing how to revise for the implementation of EOT in project?
Hi Tom, suppose today is the status date of update and the task was supposed to be finished today 100%. But it did finish only 75%. Do I move the incomplete 25% to status date?
Just enter actual dates mark on track that activity and it will indicate what is done to the status date and what is not done. Also if work started but did not complete then split the task accordingly and mark in track to satus date
Hi Sir. Good Day. I encountered problems with Microsoft project which is Publish Failure (error 23000)I suspect it was corrupted. I am thinking of how am I going to unpublish the workplan since it always fail to publish. Your response will be appreciated. Thankyou

Hmm not sure but I suspect it is because in the options setting you have 8 hr days instead of 11 hr test on a practice file and see if that helps.
Thanks from India, Tamil nadu

Sorry I’m not familiar with that, try running your question on chat gpt
While you are in the tracking screen you update the column duration instead of actual duration - any reason for this?
No big reason, just I like to see where it goes before i mark complete. Also easier for mark on track if it crosses the status date
