Tom, great video! What is the difference between WBS and an actual construction schedule? Can, the day-to-day working schedule be developed from the WBS? Thanks for your help!
Hi Prince, WBS is Your headings and sections that the work packages activities are housed under. The activities create the critical path when linked to develop the schedule.
@@TomStephensontraining Thanks, Tom! So the WBS is your initial outline and when you link the line items, that creates your critical path and the actual working schedule. I will check the other videos for tips on how to link line items. Thanks, again!
Hi Zacharia, You can place it lots of ways eg you could create a summary task Building Systems and then have dry with their own heading under dry or individual by the selves: electrical, cable, network wiring…. The key is to remember that you can hide the headings and sort by date if you want to easily look at the schedule in order. You can then turn on the summary tasks and keep the organization as before.
Thanks you so much. In some projects, especially in large projects, we need to change WBS and summery to make new reports. For example making WBS or Summery based in {(Floor 1: Walls, Plumbing...), Floor 2: Walls, Plumbing...)} or based on Contractors {(Walls contractor: Floor1, Floor2,...), (Plumbing Contractor: Floor1, Floor2, ... )}. or sometimes management wants a progress report for a only specific part of projects. I make changing in WBS and Summery with "Outline Code". I think its a really interesting topic. If you have time, it would be great to teach.
Hello Tom, First, I want to appreciate your video and your channel. You have high-quality content. On the other hand, I want to know if you can bring us the activities of level 6. Which activities correspond to the slab on the grade east and west side? Kind regards, Ian Carpio.
Hi Ian, check my playlist for MS project the course video 3 and I think I ahow the activities in that on under level 6 and there is a lind to download the file if you wish
Yes as far as cost and usability. As far as scheduling and project management goes not really, in the end they are tools that if applied with excellent pm skills will assist you to better manage your projects. Hmm I should do a video on this topic, thanks Sanket.
Not if you are using the project icon when you sign up for plan 3 they are pretty much the same except for the oddnew thing like scrum. Does your screen look like mine?
