To be honest the removal or insertion of the tubing may have gone wrong, that could’ve been the reason why the nerves were hit and he’s now having trouble speaking. He’s the first case that I’ve encountered who have such condition after a removal of a tube. They could’ve file a lawsuit
Russ that’s what i was thinking as well. i had my first surgery just a little less than a month ago where they had to insert a tube to transfer oxygen into my lungs and it’s quite normal for people not to have their voice for a few days, but mine has yet to come back. currently, my voice sounds like his and it doesn’t hurt to talk, but it’s hard to speak loudly and my best friend makes fun of it (i know she means no harm though). but it’s been almost a month and my voice is still barley here. so i was thinking since they had to tube him twice, that could be the reason for his voice to sound like that. edit: thank you for the nice messages! i saw my doctor a few weeks after writing this and it turns out during my recovery time my allergies also started up so the added inflammation of my throat delayed the swelling to go down. i was given antibiotics to combat a rising strep throat and within a week i was able to talk normally for a longer period of time before my voice became hoarse again. it’s been 2 months now and my voice is 110% back and my physical recovery is going well!!

I almost cried when his mother cried. I have the same problem as him. In personal, I'm shy and silent and i don't talk that much because of my low and soft voice. It sometimes frustrates me whenever people ask about my voice or my personality. I've always been the most shy and silent person in my class (since elementary). I get really anxious whenever I have to report and speak in front of the class, and there was once that I had to report ALONE, and i got really stressed out when my teacher and my classmates keep on saying "Louder your voice pls!" for several times, and I felt bad because I can't scream or louder my voice. So I really can feel his burden, too. Some people think that it's not really a big deal, but for people like him or me it's really hard to overcome it. Anyways, I wish him goodluck.
I also have a really low soft voice and teachers used to scold me for it but I couldn’t help it. I tried to speak louder but it legit sounded like I was shouting or angry at other people so they just thought I was aggressive. :(

Mm I can relate to this as well, but besides having a soft voice I have a short temper, I don't shout because my throat hurts when I try to go an octave higher than normal and it naturally cuts off. Whenever they keep telling me to speak up I become really irritated and start to glare at everyone, I start to shout even though it hurts a lot to speak that loud. To me though my voice can be heard but my class is forever speaking loudly so they try to get me to talk over them and it's annoying to say the least, especially when the noisiest person shouts at me saying the y can't hear anything, I once bit back with a snarky remark and was scolded by my teacher, but it was satisfying to shut up the person though.

Russ that’s what i was thinking as well. i had my first surgery just a little less than a month ago where they had to insert a tube to transfer oxygen into my lungs and it’s quite normal for people not to have their voice for a few days, but mine has yet to come back. currently, my voice sounds like his and it doesn’t hurt to talk, but it’s hard to speak loudly and my best friend makes fun of it (i know she means no harm though). but it’s been almost a month and my voice is still barley here. so i was thinking since they had to tube him twice, that could be the reason for his voice to sound like that.
edit: thank you for the nice messages! i saw my doctor a few weeks after writing this and it turns out during my recovery time my allergies also started up so the added inflammation of my throat delayed the swelling to go down. i was given antibiotics to combat a rising strep throat and within a week i was able to talk normally for a longer period of time before my voice became hoarse again. it’s been 2 months now and my voice is 110% back and my physical recovery is going well!!

I almost cried when his mother cried. I have the same problem as him. In personal, I'm shy and silent and i don't talk that much because of my low and soft voice. It sometimes frustrates me whenever people ask about my voice or my personality. I've always been the most shy and silent person in my class (since elementary). I get really anxious whenever I have to report and speak in front of the class, and there was once that I had to report ALONE, and i got really stressed out when my teacher and my classmates keep on saying "Louder your voice pls!" for several times, and I felt bad because I can't scream or louder my voice. So I really can feel his burden, too. Some people think that it's not really a big deal, but for people like him or me it's really hard to overcome it. Anyways, I wish him goodluck.
I also have a really low soft voice and teachers used to scold me for it but I couldn’t help it. I tried to speak louder but it legit sounded like I was shouting or angry at other people so they just thought I was aggressive. :(

Mm I can relate to this as well, but besides having a soft voice I have a short temper, I don't shout because my throat hurts when I try to go an octave higher than normal and it naturally cuts off. Whenever they keep telling me to speak up I become really irritated and start to glare at everyone, I start to shout even though it hurts a lot to speak that loud. To me though my voice can be heard but my class is forever speaking loudly so they try to get me to talk over them and it's annoying to say the least, especially when the noisiest person shouts at me saying the y can't hear anything, I once bit back with a snarky remark and was scolded by my teacher, but it was satisfying to shut up the person though.
