Did he have a weapon !? Was he actively trying to get inside to harm people or was he just running and went to hide in a locked door? How long was it until the "back up" arrived and he was finally killed after the school office according to the report spoke and not engaged with him?
Don't get me wrong I'm all for officers protecting people from a danger to society but the story even slightly changed during this 2 min segment, sounds to me like I'd like to know the full story before making a judgement.

PROTECT THE CHILDREN!!! Adults with children attending a private and public school know the protocol. You cannot walk on campus and take your child. You have to check in at the front desk and be given a visitor’s name tag AFTER the school identifies the visitor as a family member or guardian on the child’s profile. That’s how you do it! The fact that they were trying to enter from locked doors speaks volumes.
At my kids school, we can’t even get past the second set of locked doors the call the kids to us. I appreciate that

@@ScopeKing1994 Um, I think she means it speaks volumes about the suspect and his intentions. An honest guardian would have probably tried calling the school or entering like a main door to the front office or something if their intention was to see or get their child for whatever reason.
I don’t know what he was doing trying to enter the school, and they don’t even know if he had a weapon. So not sure what his intentions were, but they did not seem completely harmless.

I'm happy to see a positive change and that the stranger couldn't get in. Keeping the school completely secure from strangers is an extremely important protocol and I'm happy everything was handled so quickly and professional thar the kids didn't know what was going on. This gives me a lot more hope.

My coworker’s son was there🥺 Scary times. WE CAN CHANGE THIS! Mental health should be prioritized! Empathy! Caring for your children properly! Treating them with respect like they are normal humans! The teachers kept it quiet and ran through it like a normal protocol.

We aren’t sure why he was trying to enter the building, but he was trying to get into/looking in cars in the parking lot when someone driving by called him in for suspicious activity. The school went on lockdown and they sent out the resource officer who works for RBC. The man was acting strange so back up was called. Then he reached for the officers gun. For legal purposes this is alleged and he was a “potential intruder”

Therefore, police officers are not held accountable for their inactions if they choose not to "Serve and Protect". As distasteful as my be, that is the law of the land.

Some day during the school year, I volunteered at my son's school. As I left, I was attracted by some students' artworks on the wall, I simply stood and stared for around 20 secs, a teacher warned me that I must leave, or I would upset people in the building.
I was slightly sad, but now I understand why this level of security measure is important. Sad country, sad reality.

One of the teachers in Uvalde, went outside by the back door and she saw the shooter walking straight to her school and she went inside, but she didn’t lock the door. Big mistake!

I went to school in the 80s in Mount Vernon NY and we had metal detectors and officers on duty. This is how EVERY school should be. If we have officers guard court buildings let’s do it for our schools.

At least with this school here, one of the doors weren't OPENED by a teacher n than not secured? This way the guy couldn't get into this school. Good police officer work here too. Hopefully the school security guy gets better quickly too.

In Mexico they close the school gates after a certain time. After that you have to knock on the door to enter and an attendant comes over to see who it is. I think after everything that has been happening, they should really look into doing that as well here.

I just seen it tonight on my local news but it didn't give any actual info. They phrased it to the tune security struggled with the guy then ended up shooting and killing him. Then talked about how his family said the guy struggled with depression and had mental health issues.
Of course no one heard about it. It didn't fit the narrative of the MSM. This couldn't be sensationalized or politicized. Bad guy meets good guy. Good guy wins. Notice they said they didn't know if the man had a weapon. Hade he showed up with an AR 15, had there been blood and carnage, then it would have made the news on MSM. responded? according to the reports Ive read A Rainbow City police officer was stationed at the school as an SRO. He came out and confronted the suspect and a scuffle ensued. The suspect was fatally shot and the officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of what are thought to be minor injuries from the altercation.
So if the school resources officer doesn't like the way someone looks they can shoot them in the street during a conversation and claim they were "suspicious too close to a school"
