@@naomishindou7197 when a child is kidnapped you usually don’t hear about them until their body is found in the woods. there should be punishment regardless of wether he succeeded at kidnapping the child.
That's the thing, I think we need legal powers when it comes to things like child endangerment, enticement and attempted kidnapping; they should have a long stay in a psychiatric unit to determine the level of risk to children in the future & should be permanently monitored. Money that is put into arresting teens for smoking weed should go into this instead.
They should absolutely yell and scream. Many kidnapping have been stopped just because the child kick and scream to get reactions from other adults. Your advice sucks. For all we know you are a kidnapper giving bad advice....

The child did EXACTLY the right thing. Kudos to this kid for not bring silent. It wasn't just a "gut feeling", the boy spoke up and said loud and clear "This isn't my dad." and thank goodness he was heard.
Yeah I was wondering why they called it that too!! The child goes “Help this is not my dad.” And the business owner’s like “Got it. Dad Mode.” Newscaster: the business owner had a gut feeling something was wrong. ???
No, they need to be executed publicly, along with anyone that opposes the death penalty and those that commit abortion, assisted suicide, eldercide, and the culling of people due to their skin, hair, and eye colors, as well as those that go after mentally, physically, and developmentally disabled people in their lives.
Note the boy's protective body language throughout, with his arms folded over his chest. Jaimie Rodriquez is absolutely awesome, very wise too, for seeing to it that the police caught up with the fake dad, & Riley stayed with the oy, insuring his safety & helping to find his mom. Really great guys!!! God bless them!
Notice the passer-by enticed by the boy, having a protective body language with his arms folded. The boy imitated him. The adult took the initiative to walk toward the end of the pier, full of cameras and site of a manned booth. The parasailers did the right thing but at a risk for their reputation. Then after police was involved, the investigation, although abundantly rich with witnessing, with video and the quality of the passer-by explanation (a top lawyer himself) led to NOTHING illegal. The result is that the parasailers still could lose their business for what they did getting involved BEYOND the purported protection of a kid. A lie (typical lawyer stuff) about being father or not is not punished by any imaginable law.

Also how to get away. They shouldn't tell the perpetrator you are not my father... They already know. They should move to a person who could help them speak like this boy did. The boy wisely walked to the nearest place where there was a safe adult and hid behind him then spoke.
Another critical message: Encourage children to trust their instincts. This child saved himself form a horrific fate, and potentially saved other children by telling an adult when he sensed danger and asking for help.
Im so glad he was smart enough to trust his instincts, but he should not have had to experience this at all. You can tell while he was walking with the man that he was uncomfortable with his arms folded looking for a way out. His mother was gone way too long

Honestly I didn't know that "child enticement" was a crime but I'm really glad it is. Whether it's a full-blown attempt or just flirting with an attempt, kidnapping should be punished equally all around. I'm sure the guys in prison would LOVE to have a ChoMo in their unit...
This should be taught at schools alot more. Find a group of people and say that's no my family or dad exactly like that kid did. How many weirdos are there like seriously.
That sounds horrible that a child has to be taught at school how to avoid evil people. This is not the child's responsibility, the adults are the ones that need to control themselves or protect the children.
Ironic the creep was ok following a kid around but when a grown man twice his size starts doing it back it's not ok. If most of our countries held a referendum on pedophiles at this point im sure 99.9% of people would happily vote for the death penalty. No one wants these creeps on the streets anymore. Not that we ever did, but its getting so beyond a problem at this point and our prisons are already overflowing, the best thing we can do for society at large is to give instant death sentences. Even if you havent committed a crime yet, if you are caught trying to kidnap a child, caught using CP etc it should be an instant death sentence. This is the only way to deter these creeps and if it doesn't deter them them then they deserve what is coming. No child should have to have their lives ruined by a groomer. These pitiful sentences and being allowed back into public on bail have to stop right now! Why "child enticement" and not "attempted kidnapping"? There are several witnesses to testify that he lied and said he was the child's father in order to kidnap him. And why does an attempted child kidnapper get out of jail so quickly?
Kidnapping requires moving the person from one location to another. He never officially "moved" the kid Also, Kidnapping is 3-8 years if convicted. Child Enticement is min 10 years. So Child Enticement he will have guaranteed 10 year jail time. If they tried to charge him with Kidnapping, he would get away with it, cause he never officially move the kid.
@Untrepid One You didn't watch the first part of the report. The reporter stated that the man grabbed the boy out of the water. I'm guessing grabbing someone is kidnapping.
They are hero's for sure, they didn't just save this boy from being kidnapped, they also saved him from being abused and they also saved him from being murdered and his body being thrown out like so many other sweet innocent children. They also saved his mother from endless years of suffering and always wondering what happened to her son and always thinking that there is a chance that he might still be alive. They are true hero's...God Bless them, the little boy and his mother.
I absolutely agreed with you. If that boy had been kidnapped, he would've been abused, killed, etc. We can all concluded that, including the justice system. So why did they let him walk free??? Is it because it didn't actually happen?? Yes, it didn't happen because there were human angels that stopped him from commenting the crime! But his intentions with that child were sinister. So why letting him go? When we all know that he is going to try again. He can hurt other innocent children. And next time, that child might not have the same luck or help. Please keep these criminals locked up so no one else can get hurt!!
The fact he had the child alone, parents unaware and then lied about being related should escalate it to kidnapping charges, even if it was only for 3 minutes. Enticement my ass.
This doesn't appear to meet the requirements for kidnapping in the majority, if not all, states. Kidnapping is never about length of time, so technically it could've been mere seconds. The issue is the boy wasn't held against his will, neither was he forced to go anywhere.
Unfortunately, our systems were always built to be this way. Children need to be taught by their parents that this situation could indeed happen to them. It almost happened to me when I was a child. Good thing I had my older cousin with me who questioned and argued with the would-be kidnappers. I think the abuser deserved a much heavier penalty than "child enticement."
Child enticement? That’s it? Are you kidding me? What is wrong with our legal system. He needs to AT LEAST be put on Neighborhood Watch Sex Offender Map and/or Family Watchdog. This man’s house SHOULD be searched with random visits by police to check for suspicious activity. Or police should give “permission” for the community to keep a watch on these people without getting penalized for trespassing this man’s property. There was a case of a man punching a famous TH-camr at a Metallica concert. Fans were able to get the man’s name, address, phone, etc. I would not be surprised if he gets threatened on a regular basis. The internet folk are powerful enough to protect those TH-camr stars, they should be able to protect children, too, before they get hurt.

I have custody of my nephew and when he first came to me at the age of 12 there were a lot of issues where he would run off. Usually it was unexpected and I just had to wait until he came back out for brought back but one day I caught up to him and I grabbed him by the arm and try to get him in the car and he started yelling to this random guy that he didn't know me. I wasn't letting go of my kid because he would have taken off again but I s stood right there and I told him I encourage you to call the police because I know I would in the same situation. Good story. This spanking was profitable. Kids have better and closer relationships with all internet connections than adults and therefore are aware of the pervasive American paranoïa about kidnapping. They take advantage of it. In case you had managed to drag him into your car, then departed, a full fledged investigation would have been launched and would have mobilised a police team, maybe for weeks. Once located, your relationship with your nephew would have been scrutinized and he might have finished sent to the social services and you to jail. In fact figures show that there are no more kidnappings per US inhabitants today than there were 60 years ago. Why "child enticement" and not "attempted kidnapping"? There are several witnesses to testify that he lied and said he was the child's father in order to kidnap him. And why does an attempted child kidnapper get out of jail so quickly?
Kidnapping requires moving the person from one location to another. He never officially "moved" the kid
Also, Kidnapping is 3-8 years if convicted. Child Enticement is min 10 years. So Child Enticement he will have guaranteed 10 year jail time. If they tried to charge him with Kidnapping, he would get away with it, cause he never officially move the kid.

Well that escalated quickly
I absolutely agreed with you. If that boy had been kidnapped, he would've been abused, killed, etc. We can all concluded that, including the justice system. So why did they let him walk free??? Is it because it didn't actually happen?? Yes, it didn't happen because there were human angels that stopped him from commenting the crime! But his intentions with that child were sinister. So why letting him go? When we all know that he is going to try again. He can hurt other innocent children. And next time, that child might not have the same luck or help.
Smart kid to say “I don’t know him, he isn’t my father.” So glad safe people were there and the predator is now on the radar.

There should be no bond when it comes to children. We need a better system.
Good on these folks. Kids shouldn't have to deal with that kind of stress.
Unfortunately, our systems were always built to be this way. Love how people who are clearly a danger to kids and are a risk of kidnapping them are able to be bonded out and let out onto the streets. This, along with slaps on the wrist for these crimes enables this problem that seemingly will never end.

Children need to be taught by their parents that this situation could indeed happen to them. It almost happened to me when I was a child. That heavier penalty should be castration and left in the desert to die.

All three of us stood there until police came and sorted it out. Until that moment , that guy was certain that I was a kidnapper LOL. I thanked him for his concern. Cops told me my kid needed a good ass whooping. I agreed and that's exactly what I did when I got home. Yeah yeah I know. Spanking doesn't work, which is strange because that was the last time he ever did that. He's 15 now and so spoiled I would literally have to throw him out the door to get rid of him LMAO
By then, a story like "CDA parasail staff save a child" would have made everyone laugh laud and shrug shoulders. But then no internet ....
