Taking some clips from videos I made in the last few months fully restoring my 2000 Ford f250 7.3 Powerstroke with the zf6 manual transmission. I picked this truck up with 103,000 miles on it but still had some Ohio/Michigan rust and some real bad oil leaks, now she looks like brand new! You lost alot of credibility by calling cooper tires junk. Obviously have never owned a few sets. 68k miles out of my Xlt At3s on my 2002 7.3.
whats the wheels and tire setup and any spacer?
35x12.50 tires lariat 11-16 superduty stock wheels and 2” spacers
What a turd
How many miles are on truck now? How many miles were on it once deleted?
170,500 now bought it with 156k and was already deleted, previous owner deleted it soon after buying it in 2015 so id assume didnt have much miles
Best update ever: trade it for Cummins power!
I dont like cummins less power than fords
@@nick7.398 might be less power, but still drags my 18000 pound 5er down the road just fine. Can break any speed limit in the country while doing so. And thr Ford 6.7L Power Stroke had a 50% failure rate for me. Not any thing to brag on. If S&S had invented the DCR replacement for the shit CP4 nine years ago I would have likely went that route. But, as is, I traded for a Ram in 2018, while they were still putting the CP3, before the 2019 “upgrade”!
@@dondavidson3440 50% failure I only know 1 guy out of like 50 that had an issue where I’m at with a 6.7 tbh cp4 aren’t bad
@@nick7.398 CP4 ain’t bad! LOL, there is are reason both GM and Cummins dumped it for a better pump. There is a reason S&S developed the DCR. I had two 6.7 Power Strokes. One CP 4 failed, ( That’s 50% for me) repaired under warranty; but I will not have a vehicle I have to worry about when it is gonna up and die because od a poor designed fuel pump. But, go ahead and drink the koolaid and be a fan boy. Ford loves you.
@@dondavidson3440 lol not fan boy just honest, pump flows a lot of fuel very rare that someone actually has a problem, I have the disaster kit anyways so idc if mine goes out, ill just get another brand new cp4 if mine fails and keep going
Do regular paint stores sell automotive paint? I can't find this paint anywhere.
What do you mean by regular paint stores? Not sherwin williams or lowes etc but this is from painters supply
SOUNDS LIKE AMERICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Beautiful truck. I have a 95 5speed and still run mint
$8477 save u guys the 12.50 plus his labor. Looks amazing!
Bro I think I saw you TikTok page about this truck. And now ok TH-cam, what a beauty
Yes sir you did and thank you
looks so good, i want to build mine like this but i think i may do 4” lift and 37s. how bad do the 37s rub on stock wheels? and i also have the ranch hand on mine, what pod lights are you running, and how was the wiring?
Wiring for what? I have the stock fog lights, and thank you I have no rubbing
@@nick7.398 oh sorry thought you had those little light pods . do you run spacers on your truck? i heard of these trucks run 37s on stock wheels, they will rub on the radius arms unless we run spacers.
@@thatginjaninja1 yea thats correct 2” spacers tbh the rubbing on radius arms without them is so minimal I wouldnt even worry about it, I only got spacers for more aggressive stance
@@nick7.398 i gotcha, thanks man! i was thinkin bout getting some 1/2 inch spacers cause i heard those could stop the rubbin but just wanted to see what you are runnin. thank man for the help your truck looks great
@@thatginjaninja1 thank you, idk if how you could possibly have a spacer that small tho, I had to trim lugs to fit my 2” ones
looks good I usually do hand washing.
Cooper tires are not cheap
Yes, cooper tires are indeed cheap tires lol.
Ur located in dekalb il ?? I’m close ….
No I’m from Michigan we plant dekalb corn tho
How many coats of clear did you put on? Im getting ready to paint my truck, and im terrified id burn through with all that sanding and polishing. Truck looks awesome! All your time was definitely worth it
Thank you sir and typically I do 2 but on this being I knew I had some wet sanding to do I gave it a 3rd coat for more material to work witj
I'm being gifted my grandpas ol 2001 7.3, I'm super excited! Though I gotta know, I've heard these trucks are super easy to break into, and I live in a car theft prone area. Is there anything you'd recommend to prevent theft? Thanks, your truck is super clean! Same color as my grandpas :D
Thank you and congrats on new truck! You could always mount a battery kill switch on it for theft prevention
Papaw truck
Definitely not lol
might be injectors
Valve dropped
what wheel spacers did you have on this?
2” rough country
Ive been following you for awhile now . I have to say you do some nice work man ! Keep the video's coming !
Thank you!
That air intake is garbage
To me air filters arent a big deal, as long as it filters dust out I dont care
does it look more pretty irl
Wym lol
@@nick7.398 like does the final product today look more green or blue and does it look better in real life then video
@@MJA107 the color doesn’t change but I did wet sand and buff it
Not over done and no ridiculous rims...good looking truck amigo.
Thank you and yea I don’t exactly like offset wheels much myself 😂
Ok so I’m putting a 7.3 in my 69 F250. I was on the fence about financing a newer diesel but I don’t see a point in that if I can do this swap cheaper and still have a cool truck.
I would never recommend going into debt over ant vehicle, smart idea
really nice truck bro
thats a truck.
Are you gonna sell it
No sir not for sale
tuner i take it
I just hit 150k and I heard u can risk the slush getting somewhere and causing a mess should I do this
Yea go for it, maintenance can’t hurt, your trans is ether good or bad. Changing fluid won’t cause it to blow unless you don’t fill it correctly or used wrong fluid
I have exactly desame truck 7.3... but SHORT bed 6speed manual 2020 front end
Mine is a 6 speed and how did you put a alumiduty front end on these? Wouldnt match at all I wouldnt think
@nick7.398 won't match but lux ok... short bed
I bought one from a local scraper for 1200 in good shape the paperwork in the the trunk says it had a motor rebuild a year prior total bill was 18.000 I has 260 000 km on it
Can you make a vid on how you wired the mirror lights and everything up thanks
Tbh I only have running lights, check our BTR justin on youtube, he explains how to do what I did + how to do the heat function, turn signal, etc
@@nick7.398 okay I’ll do that thanks you’ve inspired me to restore my 2000 7.3 zf6 4 door shotry mines dark teal metallic as well I can’t wait to get after urs looks sick!
Good afternoon friend, what color is your truck?
It is r2 paint code, “dark teal metallic!”
We stick to 7.3s for our work trucks. Can’t beat them
Take headlight out next time and just bend up the tabs and put new bolt and nut and bend down tabs over nut
Smart, wish I would of thought of that
Nick, great job and great vid! I'm sitting on a 2003 7.3 Superduty F350 with an almost totally rusted out body, AND a clean 2001 Superduty F250 with a burnt gas V8 (6.3?). The question is do I swap the 7.3 into the F250, or do I drop the F250 body onto the F350 frame.....I'm encouraged by you that either way I end up with a solid truck that will last me for years.
Thank you and that depends on problably a lot of factors but id assume easier to body swap vs working with motor mounts and switching fuel system etc
from about the mid 80s to 97 all those parts for the most part are just interchangeable like the super duty's meaning all 7.3 have great customization
Yes sir thats true them brick noses are very similar to obs
I just landed here after watching a video on driving the Ford Model T. "What's it like daily driving a *24 year old?* " 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very very nice.
Thanks Good vid and advice keep it up young man
Thank you, I will!
There’s a red super duty 7.3 single cab no rust for 22k with 22k miles at a dealer that’s local to me. You think that’s a fair deal?
Yes, I have turned down 22k for this truck and it has 106k miles
@@nick7.398 wow very nice
I have a 2000 F250 7.3 quad cab in the same color. Wondering if you have upgraded your headlights and if you have, what are they?
I did a full 2005 front clip swap with clear headlights, lasfit led bulbs.
Could you make a video on how to paint a truck start to finish. Just from like bodywork to wet sanding and polishing clear? I’m painting my truck and kind of stuck on some parts of the process
I have every video of body paint and buffing this truck on this channel in a playlist!
@@nick7.398 thank you. Will watch any I haven’t already seen yet.
I bought an 03 7.3 last week! It’s amazing so far!
Me watching this while i daily a 7.3l excursion like "hmmm what is that like" 🤣🤣
That’s my dream truck what’s the gas mileage like and any common problems it has
@@Anonymous-jj9yu i get 14-16 with bad uppipes currently i was getting 18-22 before they went bad driving like a grandma but i do like the sound of the turbo so usually like 19ish give or take ill take it for a 23 year old truck lol, problems are the same as any 7.3l. Ipr cps and icp sensors go bad after a while, but other than that its solid
@@ryancollins3227 is the up keep expensive?
@@Anonymous-jj9yu eh not really. 120ish bucks for an oil change depending what oil, i do mine every 3000 miles and im a deputy so i only drive the Ex on my days off, might do an oil chnage every 3-4 months something like that, gotta have oil cha ges up on the 7.3l and even the 6.0l, oil controls the injectors. Not saying you gotta do what i do and do changes every 3k but i would t go past 5k miles on oil with them othsr fluids are cheaper for the most part. Its about time for diff fluid changes
@@ryancollins3227 that actually sounds pretty damm amazing. I’m the type of person that would rather do maintenance way before it’s deadline to make it last longer. The gas mileage is also amazing considering it’s old school truck while my expedition gives me around 10 miles to the gallon on any day. Last question mate is there anything one should do to this truck or engine to make it even more reliable
Where are your white leds from?
Lasfit and sea light
97 F250 328,000 miles. New Lpop, glow plugs, fuel filter, and relay after sitting for 2 years. It is my daily and starts right up.
I have a OBS 95 fsuper but now I think I need a superduty 7.3
Nice emotional support truck.
You don’t have to remove the cab on a 7.3. That’s enough reason
Lol you are very correct, no massive repair bills and pulling cabs
