    Absolutely loved this video, to include introduction and insight! You’ve got me thinking!!! I’ve got too hung up on Miso and need to cover something on this. Great seasonal video too, all building up for Easter. Keep up the great work. HHH

      Well I know you like your vegan products and apart from the 70g jar it is!

    I LOVED the M&S ones. Also shout out to Sainsbury’s own yeast spread, ever so slightly more runny and I find easier to use for recipes

      Good tip! I'd never even considered going off-brand.

      @@BigSpud I’ve had Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco ones. All taste pretty much like Marmite imo, but as I said I noticed there is a slight difference in consistency.
      Also there is a small vegan chain called Oowee and one of their item menus is Marmite Fries (regular or waffle) and I wish it was an option more places offered.

    This was fun, Gary! Now off to make some myself. I kind of already know what I'm going to think of them...

      I'm *hoping* the flavour is subtle enough that it tastes savoury and salty rather than the overpowering taste they are associated with. Let me know!

    I'm not buying a jar just yet but these do look really nice actually.

      Cheers! They are not full-on Marmite flavour, just a suggestion.

    Now the question is Marmite peanut butter? Yes or no?

    • @BigSpud
      @BigSpud  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they do do a jar of the two combined.

      No. Awful. Individually they are great but together, rancid.

      @@Phil_Tutty that is what I thought. but I was surprised.

    Hello, I'm coming from Kristin's channel and I must admit I have never tasted Marmite. What is its flavour like? Can you describe it?

    • @BigSpud
      @BigSpud  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for stopping by! It is a strong, very savoury, very salty flavour. Many cooks will add a teaspoon to a meat sauce to accentuate all those flavours. If you have ever tasted concentrated liquid beef stock, that's pretty close though it is a vegan product (it came from the brewing industry originally). Like I say it should be tasted sparingly.

      @@BigSpudOK, I can understand now why it is so controversial 😄

      Like I said in my video they have traded off the controversy for decades in their marketing. Genius!

    “Nice and deformed, just as I like it” would not be a great r-shirt design.
