I cover kitchen gadget reviews, recipes, cooking and all topics in between. Expect recipes, roast potatoes and other cookery malarkey from an Essex boy who likes food 'n' stuff. I cook potatoes a lot too, so look forward to lots of potato recipes. I cook. A lot. Pretty much every day. And I want to share that passion and experience with you.
I've been blogging since 2007 and I've been lucky enough to work with Heston Blumenthal, Jamie Oliver and many other chefs and food personalities.

Marco Pierre White repeats the phrase "mother nature is the true artist" often. What does he mean by this? Where does the idea come from?
In this video I'll go through why I think Marco repeats this phrase so often. I'll also take you through one of his recipes for a vegetarian lasagne with mixed diced vegetables replacing the minced beef or pork.
As the first British chef to win three Michelin stars, and the youngest to ever do so, Marco's opinion carries some weight and it's worth having a look at what he has to say.

Had audio nightmares on this one, so apologies for the echoey sound. The Ninja Kettle, the high-tech (expensive?) solution for tea, coffee, and more. Not a sponsored video at all, bought with my own money. With customizable temperature settings ranging from 40°C to 100°C, it’s perfect for a wide variety of drinks and recipes. Is this the perfect tomato sauce?
มุมมอง 3.5K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Marco Pierre White's pomodoro sauce is the perfect blend of easy and tasty - but it comes to him from an unusual direction. Using his mentoring from Marchesi, celebration of his heritage, the Italian love of tomatoes, this sauce comes together to make a versatile and delicious base for many recipes. (Sneaky mention of Heston Blumenthal too because I can't help myself) My take on the recipe here...

Have you ever tried tackling a recipe that feels more like an endurance test than a culinary project? Well, this is it - the Dark Souls of recipes. In this video, I take on Marco Pierre White’s notoriously challenging pig’s trotter recipe from his iconic cookbook, White Heat. Known for its technical demands, intricate ingredients, and sheer patience required, this dish is a true test of any coo...

White Heat by Marco Pierre White was a monumental book in changing the perception of UK food and chef culture. Released in 1990 and featuring photography by the legendary Bob Carlos Clarke, the book has gone went on to inspire Anthony Bourdain, Tom Kerridge, and Gordon Ramsay. To investigate how the book works I try a recipe for 'scotch beef': a ribeye steak recipe featuring 4 separate elements...

Heston is so intelligent that it hurts.
God this guy has aged since I first saw him.
just title it with the French translation, sounds more elegant, crab ice-cream would become glace au crabe

That is just keeping balance. Loke anything else in life. When you are only one thing and it is not balanced with something almost opposite, something is missing.
Sounds like something a Jedi would say.

Can't have everything.
We bought this after using the 400uk model. We liked the 400uk model apart from the dial selector that would turn inadvertently to the wrong position. Unfortunately ninja have ruined the 451 by trying to improve things that weren't necessary. The cooling cycle and auto shutdown at the end of the cook is a pain and the temperature probe is far too complicated and doesn't work accurately enough. How the two draws work together to balance the load is ridiculous, making cooking times unpredictable. By all means buy the 400 or the 300 if you can get them but I'd avoid the 451.
Wow that doesn't sound good. Sorry to hear about your situation.
I'm lactose intolerant 😢
I'm afraid you and Marco can't be friends :-/
Nigella's version was more ... just more, than this.
Sinister or saucy?
Hey Gary, Happy New Year! Really enjoyed this, especially as this is a Vegan/ vegetarian insight. Great chopping skillz and love the knife. I like your definition of a little salt! Haha. This looks a great recipe and great idea to use celeriac as the layering. I'm intrigued with your title, which is really luring but would it not be worth actually including the name of the recipe in the title?? Keep up the great work. James
Thanks James, always good to hear from you. I've tried several variations of titles and still not settled. I will try something else based on your suggestion!
Grabbing butter with your fingers is the only place I gotta draw the line
He uses his fingers *all* the time.
I can't believe it's KNORR butter
Knorr way!
This is why you don't get to know your heroes

For a few years I have delved into the world of culinary arts. Learning to cook through ( of all places ) TH-cam. And why not? I have soaked up so much knowledge on the subject I have become a good cook. And just today I came across this chef. His approach to cooking has changed my whole outlook and ideas about cooking. Just awesome. Thank you Mr. White!
He has a lot to say. There are many videos of Marco out there, here's my personal playlist Marco Pierre White: th-cam.com/play/PLnScr-W7nhMQpNkGvWa76uptWQ-LPcTmn.html
@ wow! Thank you for sharing. I truly appreciate that. P.S. I just subscribed to your channel
@@douglasernst9477 thanks so much!
Accidentally deleted my comment today, watching and reflecting - again - you, Sir, have a gift. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Thanks again!
Take this with a pinch of salt. He wasn’t eating beyond burgers I’ll tell you that
That tracks because he does love salt.
Aquafaba changed my view of vegan cooking styles. Also chickpeas are my arch nemesis 😂
So you like aquafaba?

butter is indeed blessed
Blessed and based
That is a very sensible approach. I tried to do this years ago, but my wife protested.
Perhaps try a few days a week.
This was an interesting video, but it raised a couple of questions for me. First, I’m not sure if it was an editing artifact, but he mentions replacing meat with vegetables, yet the example he gives is swapping pasta for celeriac. So… where’s the beef? Also, he highlights the health benefits he experienced-significant weight loss, better sleep, and more energy-but then says he ultimately "had to surrender." Surrender to what, exactly? If the changes were making him feel better, I’m curious about what led to that shift.
Deliciousness
There are of course some edits that remove the detail. The ragu is replaced with diced veg. The full recipe is here th-cam.com/video/qv0V9li5Kww/w-d-xo.html I *think* he is saying he just missed meat too much to be 100% vegan.
He surrendered to cravings
Have less enjoyable anal?
No one can be a vegan and stay healthy. It is a very poor diet. Though veg is better than pasta, grain, rice, potatoes.
I think moving to a more plant-based diet is generally a good idea.
Never ever go down that path. Carnivore is the way to go.
Marco voice: "Season the butter with a Knorr stockpot."
💯
Hell yeah. Fermented cashew spanikopidas is my best vegan recipe
Had to read that back a couple of times. Wild recipe!
Heston is the goat

From Knorr cubes to butter... what a mess.
I'm pretty sure he still uses both...

.. what's celeriacs? They look like Singkamas...
Also known as celery root. Incredibly common in Europe but I'm learning through these videos not well known outside of Europe!
Missed this last night! Excited to sit and watch it while I struggle to keep my Theme Park open. I see the comment section is unusually positive...
This gets pushed via the Shorts feed so the audience is a little different...
Gordon must never have learned how to turn the heat down. Gas stoves are really bad im thet regard, low on a gas stove is hotter than high on an electric stove. The one redeeming feature of a gas stove is that you can economically provide emergency heat to your house when the power goes out.
I'm a gas hob person myself. I like the instant control.
3:08 😂 I’ve been on the fence on it and exactly what you say is missing is what I was looking for. Appreciate the honest, funny, and detailed review
Thanks! I would rank the veg course slightly better than this one. Very entertaining to watch though.
Give the man props for trying it and then compromising. That's quite reasonable. I was a regular omni for most of my life until I tried vegan stuff myself. I am vegan to this day for my own personal health reasons. I like exploring foods I can enjoy that are made with vegan ingredients.
I appreciate his sense of exploration.
@@BigSpud I admit, even as a vegan, I used to make fun of veganism as a concept until I experimented with it myself. As they say, you shouldn't knock it until you try it. For me, I just never looked back after a certain point.
@@VeganPeasant54 try everything once!
