I see alot of people saying that the characters are the same as in Chinese, that's because it *IS* Chinese. Japanese has three alphabets 2 of them (hiragana and katakana) were created by Japanese people and 1 of them (kanji) which is Chinese characters. They just renamed it to kanji and some of the characters might be the same but have a different pronounciation and meaning. Japanese people also use Chinese characters for everyday words.
Soooo True
True. Kanji is literally Kan(漢) + Ji(字) . Kan means Chinese. And Ji means character. So it's literally called Chinese Characters.
Well Japan has their own Kanji characters that don’t exist in Chinese too. Those are called 和製漢字 (わせいかんじ).
But Yes, historically, it was adopted from China.

@@TeddyB3ARGaming Yeah, I realised a lot of kanji for different fish species don’t exist in chinese, only in japanese. Maybe its bcos japanese people live on an island
Also when you add a line above 白, it becomes 百 which means hundred
Hyaku right?

In the beginning, I thought she was going to write it 😂

Absolutely loved this video! It's so refreshing to find content that's both informative and concise from someone who's a native with picture reference haha. Speaking of learning, if anyone's interested in diving deeper into Japanese, I've been using apps like Ling and other online resource such as NHK Japanese to expand my knowledge. They've been incredibly helpful in making learning accessible and fun. Keep up the great work with these videos-I'm already looking forward to the next one!

A square has 4 sides. Also you should blame the Chinese.
おっちゃんどっから湧いたwww
It has been this easy all this time?????
Wait till you learn Japanese names in kanji and calligraphy in kanji
Lol these are beginner level kanji
And this is why good balance is important when writing kanji. I had to really focus to get what these kanji were, when they're normally super easy to read when written with the correct stroke order and balance
The issue with this is that the kanji for mouth is much more square than all the others, so learners please don't write the kanji like this. Lol
Oh! Yes.
It is an easy way to teach my kids.
Greetings from Valledupar Colombia
Add a line on top and it's hundred!!
You guys make it look easier 😅
These are probably the first grader level... but yeah it seems easier to remember with that, it helps 🙃

The kanji for white looks like a candle

他人が漢字を学ぶ苦痛を見て、何となく喜びます。
Kanji is so simple ~ (for Chinese)
口 mouth
Add a line in the middle = 日 day
Add a stroke on top = 白 white
Add a line in the middle = 自 self
Remove the dot = 目 eye
Replace lines with a cross = 田 field
Add 木 below = 果 fruit
Put dakten opposite ,it becomes neckinclinate the bottom stroke ,it becomes ear,tur it 90 degrees keep the tenten it becomes blood,it goes on...
You don't know how proud I feel already knowing them all
Also, 口 can mean enclosure or opening as well. The reason why the mouth uses that word is because it is the opening where the food enters your stomach via the esophagus before digestion.
It's like a model whi quickly shifts into different poses
The fact that most of these actually have the same meaning in chinese is insane
“Most of these”
Well in this specific video all of the characters she showed have the same meaning in chinese, cus it was adopted from china lol
Not really, as lots of Kanji are borrowed from chinese, the word Kanji actually means "letters from China" (or Han dynasty letters if you want to be more literal), and although lots have the same meaning, there are many that have the same catactere bit different pronunciation and meaning
You might be unclear as the the meaning of "insane". 😉
damn I forgot before you finished.
Thankfully we have 26 simple characters that cover every sound or word in any language.
Little tip Japan - spaces. So simple so so simple.
I still love Japanese though because its difficult

I've been studying Japanese for a month now yet I still only know hiragana katakana and 3 kanji well 8 now cuz of video anyone have tips?
That's not bad. In 1 month, I still only know hiragana.
The first one is like an open mouth, the second one is like looking at the horizon during the day, the third looks like the guidelines to drawing an eye, the fourth looks like a little square person with hair, and the fifth looks a little milk carton, which is white.
Wow❤

MORE OF THIS
Same in Chinese
Terima kasih
I speak Cantonese and i can understand all of them
Add a line at the top and it becomes 100
Whoa japanese has many different characters and same pronounciations i dont know how they study the kanji one its way more hard than hiragana and katakana
Some are but most are not it’s just KINDA SIMILAR
they are made to write again and again from elementary to high school….. tbh most japanese won’t know how to write them all but after reading a lot it’ll be easy to recognise what each mean!
My memory is retentive enough to look at a kanji and remember it without any drilling, though it depends on how much I'm focusing on that particular kanji and how complicated it is or how many radicals I have remembered.
Wow! I knew all of these!
One square for all things 😮
At two lines at the bottom and it becomes rice paddy
I mean this is a useful method but I think "mouth" is square shaped while the others are rectangular but not square shaped.
