Wife doesn't owe OP in story 2 anything. He only found out and wanted to apologize for his abusive behavior. He did towards his wife over his own insecurities .

Ugh first story reminds me of an OP who also found out her mother slept with her husband. Except they were still sleeping together, had multiple children, and mom was grooming husband all the way back at age 14. This story doesn’t have the grooming excuse
I hope OP remains strong. She got caught up in a family of snakes

I remember that story, the twins were devastated when they found out that their BIL is their bio dad. Even worse when mom and her family had history of serial cheaters.

With that story imo, there's a limit to how far the grooming excuse can go. Yeah, he was a kid, but to keep doing it for nearly 2 decades? And the horrible things he said to his wife? Yeah, no.

@@crowfather0249 grooming just doesn't magically disappear with age. Especially if you never got away from your groomer.

2nd Story: The last commenter needs to never give advice again 😅 OP was emotionally abusive to his wife over things that the men in his family were all saying to him and ultimately weren't true. I get that he was manipulated, but that doesn't give him an excuse to treat his ex the way he did, and she is making a mature and intelligent decision not to take a second chance on someone that likely left her with a lot of trauma.
In the end, it sounds like she did forgive him, but forgiveness doesn't always mean reconciliation. In truth, she handled it way less petty than some of us would have, and deserves her flowers for handling it with as much grace as she did (though I wouldn't have begrudged her if she had been petty instead because what a prick). It also sounds like she tried to warn him about his family before by the wisdom she offered him in the end, but he never listened until it was too late for them. Frankly, he needs to listen to more women in his life, not just the men: if you're only listening to advice from one side, you're missing half of the conversation.

Yeah, how can your entire male side of the family ruin your relationship just to try and get with your wife? That had been me, hearing that I would become the last male relative of our family, the rest of the male members just became missing people.

You NEVER talk to friends and family about your issues!!!!!
    EVER!
you know who i talked to about my issues? Counselors, therapists
There was 1 or 2 other people who weren't officially my therapist but they were definitely certified.
My parents NEVER knew what was wrong in my marriage.
    Neither did his
    Nor my friends

I think the parents egged him on to abuse his sister. Abusive narcissistic types do relish into seeing their kids abusing one another.

It seems he did do that. I have a feeling the parents egged him on to abuse his sister. His self harm seems to be a call for help, that the parents redirected towards his sister.

Story 2 y'all need therapy seriously and you're not needed to stay in this circle of toxins
S3 get therapy and try to find happiness you mostly need healthy healing to move forward

I thought the first story was bad.... the last one tho. All those people need to be in separate institutions. None of that is normal. Ever her at the end feeling bad that he's dead and missing him and thinking he was he best friend when he was her rapist as well as her brother. When she goes off the deep end, a lot of people are not going to make it.

In horrifically abusive situations, the mind will find ways to cope and adapt to survive. Love bombing isn't just a thing that happens in romantic relationships. It's an extremely common tactic to keep the victim from breaking free and make them feel guilty for telling anyone, hating their abuser, escaping, etc. That girl is going to need a fck ton of therapy to come to grips with what happened to her and be able to reconcile her mental image of the brother she loved and accept the painful truth that he was a monster. Unfortunately, SA and CSA survivors are at a high risk of being abused again by someone else. Predators are very good at zeroing in on vulnerable , damaged people, especially those who haven't fully identified the traits of a predator and what is and isn't normal.

@madalice5134 I am personally well aware of what can and does happen to some people who have lived through SA and CSA. The brother didn't try to guilt her tho. The brother didn't do any of that, just the parents. The brother was enabled by the parents even tho the mother had to see it with her own eyes when she was an infant. What I said still stands, when the truth finally hits her, a lot of people will pay the price for it.
