I have a 27 year old bright yellow '94 V-max I bought 4/28/21 with 3,941 miles on it. I am a firm believer in never letting fuel sit in a bike for more than 90 days, never use anything but ethanol free fuel and building yourself a nice little suction jar hooked to a refrigerator compressor to evacuate the tank. I can tell everyone that the spray cleaner he is using is Berryman's chemtool available at O'Reillys and is the FINEST CARB CLEANER IN THE WORLD. I too have made room for two other motorcycles in the garage, both with fuel injection; my 2010 VFR 1200F Honda V-4 and my 2014 CB1100 Honda transverse aircooled four. Keep those carbs clean and drained for long sits.
Awesome! I picked up an 85 Vmax that had been sitting for about a year.. got it to fire but wont idle yet... Replaced the diaphragms on the slides earlier, going to try this trick tomorrow! Cheers!
Great Video! I also have a '91 Vmax with Dyno Jet Stage 7 and Hindle 4-1 stainless pipe, Barnet clutch and Hd springs. He's a beast! I pretty much do the same thing, and sync the carbs. Dont get out as much on it as I'd like, but im Keeping Max lol. Bought it in '97
Great video! I’m working on my Grandpa’s 86 Venture Royal which has the same engine as the vmax. Unfortunately it’s been stuck in storage for a while. I’m going to go pull the air box and try this same cleaning.
Love the vmax ,I got lazy and just spent money on a efi kit so I could still ride while sending my carbs off lol ,I got the racing carbs too but mpg wasn't the best.
@Chris-zo5ze I got mine from Rick ,yeah it's awesome pain in the butt to install and a lot of being patient and asking question the fuel gauge is nice to have so you know when you need to fill up. If you suck at using a drill it'd probably be hard ,or taking parts off.
Throw some sea-foam in it and ride it. Spend a lot of time trolling at low rpm. The idle jet will clean out in about 100 miles. It helps to run nothin but premium.

This is not a video of cleaning the carbs at all... All you did is spray carb clean 🤷🏻♂️
That's what I was thinking.

What is this EFI kit you speak of? How do you like it? Easy to install? reliable? CAn you point me to who you got yours from?

@@thedood4713 So where do we get this EFI ?
@defaultname2333 star rider performance, you get it from Rick it's 3500 pretty sure.
@@defaultname2333 Fcr carbs are a cheaper alternative if you don't wanna spend 3000 or more, I have some on my second vmax.
Dude! Thank you for this
Love the Vmax.
What are you using to clean it? e.g. the spray can?
Looks like a can of what is called B12

Why did you removed Vboost??
I makes it Vboost on 24/7. The mechanism actually shuts Vboost off below 6000rpm
Nope.
