I'm from illinois i have 93 two tone black grey s10 2.8 ltr with over 1 million mile a origonal everything minus its on its third clutch 1 heater core and wind shield wiper motor oh also smacked a dear at 80 mph got a new grill and passenger front corner panal but it ran cool with no fan for five hours packed full of my belongings in the summer of 99 trio to chicago its still my daily driver i love s10 im looking to buy my exact same model if i ever find one with low miles
I had a 2.2l S10 bitd and it was FUN! May sound crazy, but underperpowered can be a hoot. Granted, I added: Pace setter header/dp Volant Cai Jegs ecu piggyback power adder Suitcase muffler: magnaflow then the 50 flowmaster Belltech lowered 4/3 Super fun truck. Is it better than a Toyota? I liked mine better than a competitor truck but many believe you can't be Toyota trucks. Ask top gear?
ABS module failure is usually because of bad solder joints inside the module itself. EASY fix OR you can buy a new one just about anywhere. Same thing with the windshield wiper relay - bad solder joints inside. EASY FIX again. With a vehicle 10+ yrs old things begin to weaken (solder joints were done robotically so actual solder on joints is VERY light - you'll see if you open it up). Same thing goes for the odometer - again EASY FIX. Got a 03 S10 4.3 Vortec extended cab with 500k+ and still runs like a champ. All depends on if you take care of it and maintain it regularly. Oil seal at the front of the camshaft (lower) and the upper intake gasket COMMONLY fail so the sooner you replace those the less likely the leaks. Mine has ZERO leaks. Replaced those yrs ago and still holding. What's REALLY good about any S10 is they're EASY to work on - VERY basic and low amount of computer-run electrically-driven modules like current vehicles.
Looking at an s10 don’t really know anything about it has the xtreme kit but no badges pretty sure it’s a 2000 might be an 02 the truck has been sitting for a while but was turned on once in a while any thoughts on this as a first car for $2500
Reasons to get a base or any of the ZR equipped S-10/Trailblazers over the ones with the Xtreme package. 1. Xtreme only comes with a body kit, and only in 2wd, and is a tad lower than Factory hieght. 2. Rust hides under the cheap body kit. 3. Any with the ZR2-ZR5 packages are a lot cooler and come with 4WD (Can go more places and actually be worth the investment). 4. There is nothing special about the Xtreme, it's just a body kit, there's no performance upgrades or anything. Xtremes aren't like SS models, or ZRs.
@@llerickll that's what i thought, i am original owner of 4.3 v6 extended cab, indiglo blue, gray interior, if anyone is interested oh manual trans, 80k original niles. But yeah, i remember the extremes coming in 4 cylinder, like the skort bed. only 6k were made and half are gone.
@@vahanghazarian8873 don't sell you'll probably regret it later on , they're very hard to come by these days especially that spec you have. my dad had a red 04 chevrolet rst manual as well , unfortunately got stolen i miss it til this day.

Yea you could pretty much order any combination on these extended step side whatever but all things said the extreme package is not to expensive and it includes a lot of performance like bilstein shocks upgraded sway Bars and a posi rear end limited slip differential so it actually makes a great candidate for a v8 upgrade like chevy 350 or even just go with a ls the more expensive is the wiring for that upgrade but you can use everything else the Trans is compatible and the rear will hold but a junk yard ls would work great for power
The most I give you for that is..2 thousand dollars..for A extreme..it's top of the line..no power windows???? Really!!!... whoa ever had that truck....didn't take care of it...very sad!!!!!

Now 2liter a PEDDLE CAR!!!. IT HAS ALOT OF POTENTIAL!!! WORTH FIXING AND KEEPING!!! I HAVE 02' LS BLK SINGLE CAB, 4.3 5.5BED, ORIGINAL PAINT, INTERIOR, AUTO, W/86.000 ORIG.MILES. NOT PERFECT PAINT. HAD IT FOR 7 YEARS, ALWAYS GARGDED!!!.RUNS GREAT!! GOOD GAS MILEAGE RUNNIG AROUND!!! FOR A ALL STOCK TRUCH!! W/ BLK FIBREGLASS T-COVER , I RUB ON IT ALOT LOOKS GOOD WHITOUT ANY PAINT!!COUPLE SPOTS ON ROOF.

Definitely a great first car, easy to replace parts if they go out. Reliable if you take care of the maintenance.
