Super Mario 64 - Shifting Sand Land - Stand Tall on all Four Pillars - 63/120

- This level is the same in both Super Mario 64 and its remake. In this mission, Mario must stand over the four pillars surrounding the pyramid. To do so, the plumber needs to be Wing Mario or use the Koopa Shell to reach at least two of the pillars over a pool of quicksand. The other two pillars can be reached by just running onto them. After Mario has stood atop all the pillars, the top of the pyramid will collapse, revealing another entrance which Mario then enters. This entrance will lead the plumber to the chamber where the fourth Power Star awaits.
However, the star cannot be gained yet because Mario has to fight against Eyerok, the monster of the pyramid. In battle, Eyerok will attempt to push Mario off the platform into a Bottomless Pit, or even try crushing him with its rock hands. Mario must hit Eyerok's eyes three times each to destroy him and gain the power star.

If anyone is having trouble trying to get to the pillars, use a koopa shell which is located next to the wing cap box to get there! It really helps!

There's absolutely no way 7 year old me figured this out. I am now 27 and searched this video to cheat my way through.
MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS! There’s a checkpoint once you make it inside of the pyramid. You won’t have to start all over if you die at the boss battle!
This is one of the cheapest levels...like ever
I don’t know about anyone else, but for every painting, once you get to the second half of the stars it starts to feel like they want you to ragequit, this games clues and level design isn’t very god half the time

If you're here in 2022 I'm sure you feel like a failure😂😂 nothing beats these old 64 games they really put alot of thought into these puzzles 💯💯
Me: Trying to land on a single pillar for an hour
Man, this specific star was so annoying and unforgiving. The 4 pillars were annoying, but were ok on their own. But having an additonal bossfight along with it is really kinda unfair imo
Back in the day, I thought I would never, EVER beat this one! (1) I'd fall in the quicksand usually shortly after standing on the 4th pillar, then taking the pyramid back, (2) I'd fall in the quicksand trying to get the 2nd trip into the cannon to blast toward the top wearing the Wing Cap, or (3) I'd successfully do everything, land on top of the pyramid, then the SHY GUY would get me....
Thank you so much for all these videos. I'm on day 3 of being stuck inside due to blizzard and am taking the time to relive my childhood by playing this and New Tetris on 64. Life is good.

Thank you so much. This level makes me want to break a controller. 🤪 the only pillar with dark brown super quick sand always gets me. If not that I get all four pillars and slide off one of the super slippery pyramid sides and into the quick sand.

The boss was pretty cool, but other then that this mission is god awful, and that’s mainly because of that one pillar near the moving blocks!
