The clip is from the film “Bury my heart at wounded knee” the characters were real but the conversation is not. But it clearly shows two narratives of two peoples.
    But what do you think?
Do you agree more with Colonel Miles? Agree more with Sitting Bull or maybe you think they both make good points

      They are both right.

Miles was at least mostly correct. This idea that the red tribes lived in harmony with nature and spent their days jet skiing and basket weaving flies in the face of *actual* historical record.

P.S. For the subverted, I use the term, red tribes, because NO ONE was native to America. If me being called white is not offensive, neither is being called black or red or yellow.

What Colonel Miles says is mostly true. The Lakota Sioux tribe moved from Minnesota into the Black Hills and stole the land which was stolen several times by previous tribes.
Just like the American Southwest was once stolen from the natives by Spain and then conquered by the Mexicans in a war, the US won the land in a war after Mexicans invited Anglos into Texas and then attacked them after they became affluent by raising cattle.

Oh, there is valuable materials in that mountains? Oh, these US property documents are not valid anymore. So says the US government.

As a Native American myself I can weigh in. Literally everywhere in the world there were people killing other people for personal gain and not getting along, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the americas long before the 1700s, the 1600s, long before the 1000s, Aztec natives sacrificed slaves of tribes they conquered. The white man has his point and states as much that his fight is not Nobel and out of greed and lust, same as the natives have in the past, we all have a history of war, and unless we acknowledge that we will repeat the past with our future. Only once we all understand that the world isn’t a great or even good place can we start to change that. Thank you for reading

@@MrClean-ep7uc well considering that history tells us that most of the worlds intelligence was located in Europe and Asia, it would only seem logical that those continents would have the people that would build ships and seek out a foreign land for their own use. Throughout history the weak fall to the mightier, be it man or animals. And, yes, man may have brought animals to new areas where they may kill animals that had no defense to the new animal. But, that's just evolution. All breeds of man around the world have all been here the same amount of time. Some progressed and some stayed barbaric. Each breed chose their lifestyle. If one didnt like the other, for whatever reason, usually religion, then they were taken out. Like it or not it's just the way things have always been. We did not steal this country, we fought for it, and the better man won. Whether we like it or not, its fact not legend.

I think you have listened to the narrative that has been pushed for the last 50 years.
I spent the last 40 minutes, after reading your post, and I have found no less than 10 articles in which it states that the Indians fought each other prior to the Europeans arriving.
The evidence of this is confirmed in archeological digs, something that oral history cannot refute.
Instead of buying into the BS, why don’t you educate yourself and read. It’s called confirmation bias when you only look up information that suits your narrative.
Aboriginals fought each other long before Europeans ever arrived and I dare say this movie was brave enough to point that out instead of risking it be “cancelled” because peoples feelings get hurt.

Yes it's true the natives fought eachother.
But, as a person who spends most of my time aggressively watching history documentaries and video's this in my insight:
The Native Americans dominated the other tribes. If they won a battle, or crushed the other tribe, they wouldn't gengis khan it off the face of the earth, it would remain, and generations later they would return the favor.
The Europeans meanwhile did 2 main things differently:
      1. They made official deals and treaties, granting land, or promising peace, and simply broke them not even a generation later. Something the natives never did, they waited a century at least to betray a treaty.
      2. They used biological warfare, most of the time, intentionally infecting native warriors, and sending them back, where they would fight, and infect other tribes.

I grew up and live in Bay Area, California. I have been in the USA for generations - Irish American 97% tested bloodline - 23andMe.
I work construction in the residential field. Some of the guys I work with are Mexican and some do not have “legal citizenship.” A few years back back, we went to visit the rest of my family who live in Philadelphia, PA, and they are all very political, even involved in politics on the county level. They asked me if they were OK with the fact I worked with “illegal immigrants” and followed up with all these other racist, BS questions….
My answer, we are of Irish heritage…we showed up on the USA doormat sick, diseased and dying. Only difference I see between the guys trying to cross the border now and what our ancestors did, the door was open before…I don’t see any difference between what our family did generations ago or what they’re trying to do now - everyone just wants what’s best for their families.

I think it’s awesome that all the ancient historical recordings are coming to light now, I’m even more impressed that they converted them to colour. Modern technology is brilliant and allows us to see these meetings from the past in full colour and not in black and when they were recorded. I recently watched a really long story with Napoleon in it, it was also remastered into colour and the quality was fantastic. The battles were very well recorded. I really hope they find even older recordings.
