    Very helpful indeed! I threaded the loops first and then took the time to unravel the foundation stitches rather than cut, then used this yarn to slip stitch back instead of single crochet. Loved the results, so clever!! Thanks again!

      That's a safer way to do it, I agree! =) Thank you also for sharing that.

    Your video saved the day! Thank you! I used a long, sashiko needle to thread the yarn through the loops. No problems at all! Also, I doubled the yarn over to give the loops more stability before adding the single crochets.

      Thank you, again. I'm almost finished with my scarf. It would have taken me way more time to finish otherwise!@@GantsilyoBaguio

    Thank you! I am a novice and needed to remove the first 4" of a blanket (including the foundation chain) and you saved my butt! I would not have had time before the baby shower to redo the entire thing and yours is the only tutorial I saw that adequately explained what to do in a way that I could understand. Much appreciated!!!

    You are a god send. I used dental floss instead of sewing thread. Glided through with no problems.
    I finished a queen size blanket that took me 3 years to crochet. The foundation chain was too tight. I just left it. 2 years later now I’m fixing it because it bothered me too much.

    Brilliant idea. Double ended tunisian crochet hook instead of the needle and thread would also work and be less likely to split any of the stitches you pick up. I wish everyone would use text over the video like this !!! Better than captions which often cover up something your really need to see.

    Omg, I hope this works in my case. I've been working on a large blanket/Afghan on and off for 3 months. Right now it's about 35 x 80 inches, way too big to start over, but my fc is so tight, it looks like the blanket got bigger by 50+ stiches, however after counting the top stiches and the bottom, turns out the top stiches are actually 3 less! When I first counted it halfway through after noticing it was getting significantly bigger, it was only 6 stiches bigger, but it looked 50 bigger! So I know the foundation chain is the problem.

      Hi Ayana, your blanket is huge! =) Yes , this will definitely work. Let me know how it goes. Good luck! =)

    Thank you for this video. Do you think I can use just a chain stitch instead of single crochet in all the gaps because it will alter the look of the blanket?

    • @GantsilyoBaguio
      @GantsilyoBaguio  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! I haven't tried that but you could try it and see if it works. However, I think the single crochet helps to secure all the stitches back in place.

    If carefully done, couldn't the foundation chain be removed in a single piece? It seems a shame to waste all that yarn by cutting each piece.

    • @GantsilyoBaguio
      @GantsilyoBaguio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! I think it could be done but I personally have not tried it. Please let us know if ever you do try doing it that way. You're right. Its such a waste of yarn. If we can save the yarn, then that would be a better way. =)

    Hello po, ganito lang din po gawin if nka join slip stitch yung foundation chain?..

    • @GantsilyoBaguio
      @GantsilyoBaguio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi sis! Thank you for your question. Sa tingin ko po, this remedy will only work if the standard foundation chain is used. Yun pung 1st row regular chains and double stitches for the second row. Hope this helps. =)
