Crochet: Is my foundation chain too tight?

Always move up a hook size to make your foundation chain, particularly for large items like blankets that need to lie flat when they're finished. This video shows the difference between tight chains and medium chains worked with the recommended hook size, and loose chains worked with a bigger hook.

Hi Sheila, that's a bit trickier but it is possible. You need to insert a "life-line" into the feet of the stitches of the first row and carefully cut away the old foundation chain, then remake it with a bigger hook - this webpage shows you what to do - by-katerina.com/crochet-tips-tricks-remake-foundation-chain/
