Ryan love this tag brother Woody Shaw Moontrane is on of my tops his trumpet playing is so underrated. Coltrane live at Birdland mono is hand down my favorite live acoltrane recording . That Clifford Brown piece never seen in the wild I have to look out for that one hard Ryan you pulled some great gems take care . Lovellandrew

Thanks!! Woody Shaw is definitely underrated, hopefully they start reissuing some of his records soon. I’d love to see craft recordings pick up muse records in their catalog but I guess the chance of that is pretty low. Also that Clifford Brown festival record might be pretty hard to find in the wild, I think they were only sold in Delaware and the surrounding area. Fingers crossed you can pick one up🤞 it’s an amazing title!

Superb video, Ryan! Great choices for the tag! I have not even heard of that Stellar Regions release or the Woody Shaw albums you showed. Will definitely be seeking them out. Thank you for the video.

Thanks Ilya!! I hope they reissue Stellar Regions on the acoustic sound series so it can get the recognition it deserves! Personally I think it’s up there with a Love Supreme!

Hi Ryan, speaking of Albert Ayler... He was all over the place. From what I've found, the 2 best Ayler albums are with Don Cherry on trumpet (or cornet). The Hilversum Sessions and Vibrations. Great how Don Cherry was able to push and get the most out of his tenor and alto sax guys. Most of the Impulse Ayler albums are fairly hard to take, although I do have them all. Like I've said before, nothing better than collecting rare jazz on vinyl! Keep up the good work! Greetings from Michigan.

Thanks!! I picked it up from a seller on Amazon, I bought it a few years ago but luckily it’s still there! Here’s the name of it “Hall of Fame Poster with Top Jazz Celebrities Collage Best Artists Home Decor Print (24x36)”
      Kind Regards!

What a great selection! I agree with pretty much everything you said and how you said it! Stellar Regions is my latest discovery and I also enjoy listening to it late at night. LOVE that record. I missed a great opportunity to grab a copy locally two months ago and regretted it since. Just pulled the trigger on a pristine copy online. I paid for it, but I’m really happy! BTW, Benny Golson’s contribution to that Lee Morgan is indispensable. He wrote and arranged all the tunes. Keep spinning that good stuff!

Hi Ryan. Good stuff. I'm a jazz newbie. I have a lot of Brazilian jazz and a small collection of American jazz. I have a few blue note records. Don cherry Complete Communion first stereo pressing. Bobby Hutcherson Total Eclipse 70 Japanese pressing. Sonny Rollins Night At The Village Vanguard 70s stereo pressing. Milt Jackson Thelonious Monk Quintet and Joe Henderson Classic Series vinyl and finally Andrew Hill Dance With Death Tone Poet.

One of my favorite things about this tag is seeing new records I’ve never heard of! I never heard of that Zoot Sims title so I added it to my wantlist after watching your video!

Your Woody Shaw LP reminded me that I have a Mosaic Records set of his, "The Complete CBS Studio Recordings of Woody Shaw." He was indeed a good trumpet player. Should rediscover him and play it. I look at the records you show and the way you take care of them (seeing them in the plastic sleeves makes them more seductive somehow!), and the way you talk about the stories behind them, and it makes me want to go buy records. I need to start playing what I have more consistently first, though. Thanks for the video.

I have that Visitors Rebirth album and it is really good. I'm trying to add more of their stuff (but it gets competitive). Really nice selections. The guys and I are putting together our selections and should have a video out this week some time. -- Mike

Just downloaded it a little bit ago! Seems it also doesn’t have most of his recordings, I wonder if it’s based on location?
