      It will be safe if you use a vest like in this video. And then you can attach the lapel mic at the front inside the pads.

    Just want to say thanks for your content. I’ve been making videos for over a decade mostly as a hobby but all related to video games. My son plays rugby league and for the past 3 years I’ve been filming all his games and he’s been asking for micd up style videos the last 2 years. After watching a few of your videos I decided to give it a go. FB marketplace for a Dji mic and had an old lapel mic already. A few mistakes while learning it all but within a week I have a set up I’m happy with. Biggest issue I had was during his first run, when he was tackled the other player happened to press the record button and stopped it. Now I know that can be disabled from the receiver I’m good. Really enjoying the content as someone just playing around with sport’s videography as a hobby. My best friend plays gridiron locally so that’s my next goal and then maybe some soccer. Cheers.

I film on my Iphone and know that the DJI mic is compatible with Iphones. Was wondering, could I get away with just buying the DJI Mic and not all the other accessories such as the lavalier mic?

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I guess considering that spikeball is not a contact sport, you can probably get away with it as long as it's not against the rules to have something sticking out of your t-shirt. If it's like other sports where you can't have jewellery or a watch on while you play, I doubt they'll let you wear the DJI mic transmitter on your collar.

      @@BeyondTheGame_E Not sure I understand the difference. HOWEVER, I think I may have figured it out. Before a pick up game I'm shooting around, the transmitter (mic) is searching for the receiver, BUT I don't turn on the receiver until a game starts. So after about 15 minutes the mic will simply shut off. I don't know this because the mic is on my back in the "vest". So I think I just have to turn both on (mic and receiver) for the duration of playing, NEVER turn off the receiver. Does that seem right? But then the question is, will they both last like 2-3 hrs? I turned the gain all the way down. Any recommendations to help?

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s gain levels on both the transmitters and the receiver so make sure that both are set properly. Also, when recording in mono, you can also record a safe track which will be recorded 6db lower than your main track just in case the main track is too loud.

    • @Agfilmss

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Agfilmss since you only have one receiver, it means that the audio from both players will be recorded in the same camera. • @TonyShowMe
    @TonyShowMe ปีที่แล้ว

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It won't do it every time but there's always a risk with these types of wireless systems. Which is why the DJI Mic transmitter internal recording is extremely helpful. That way, even if the connexion is lost with the camera, you can always retrieve the full audio file from the transmitter later. To get a connexion that never breaks no matter what, you would need a professional grade Tascam wireless system that costs at leass 3-4 times the price of the DJI Mic.

      With the receiver. The transmitter is on the player and the receiver is connected to your camera, phone or computer. But that means you'll have to sync all your audio files to your video files manually in post.

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the DJI Mic receiver is connected to your camera, you won't have to sync anything because the audio will be recorded directly on your footage. But if you're talking specifically about the transmitter internal recording, the easiest method would be to never stop recording on your camera or maybe only stop at quarter time and half-time so that ultimately you only have a few clips to sync. And when you start a recording, point the camera at the player while their doing something easy to identify in the audio. Ideally they would clap their hands one time and you can just sync that clap pretty easily.
