Ive seen a lot of comments regarding my mask not being on properly. As I’ve always said, I’m happy to respect the mask preferences of anyone who comes into my car. You don’t become a 5 star driver like myself without putting customer service first . But in a situation where I was afraid something could go south, I was more concerned about my immediate safety than getting or giving Covid to a guy who is sitting behind me wearing a mask himself (which is ironically why it felt unsafe), especially in a city that has access to the vaccine, a recent surge in carjackings, and over 550 murders last year alone. @@gabrielmilagro8906 no because 1 irrational customer can drop you from a 5 to a 4.8 and less depending on your amount of drop offs, 1 accidental too, so its not hard to get it but it's hard to maintain, and just saying your nose breath goes down and forward towards his feet, so he didnt put anyone in danger, he followed his gut instinct as anyone should do keep hating and stay safe.

That's why I'm glad that I moved from the Philly area to a place so far I haven't had one incident with a rider in the 18 months that I've been living here, because no one ever want to get abandon in a place that they don't know. Also, I never have to worry about the snow and cold weather ever again.

As a female, I don’t feel safe being an Uber/Lyft driver. Having strangers in my car honestly feels very sketchy because there’s 100 ways it can go terribly wrong, but I respect anyone who does it for a living.💕
I drive Uber and my girl used to and I would always worry but luckily she didn't end up liking all the driving she had to do. I don't blame you as a man I don't get scared at all (well I'm always strapped) but it's sad that there are a lot of shitty guys looking to do harm to woman.

Hey Eddie, Having grown up in a bad neighbourhood I learned early in life to always listen to your gut instinct. It's better to do that and be wrong as opposed to ignoring it and being right. If I was driving Uber or a taxi, I would have the same mindset because sadly, nowadays, we have to. There are very few public places anymore that aren't potentially going to have some kind of criminal problem. That's truly a sad thing to say and think that way, but that's survival instinct that we humans tend to ignore because we don't want to believe there are bad people out there and end up getting caught off guard and being bitter and full of regret for sometime afterwards, or maybe permanently. The area I grew up in in Nova Scotia Canada, as far as crime and everything else that refers to dealing with idiots like this is just as comparable as areas in LA, I know this myself because I've spent lots of time in LA and the surrounding areas while working. Yeah Canada has a pretty docile rep in other countries, but that doesn't mean we don't have just as bad of areas as other cities and countries. A perfect example is the street I lived on growing up. There were 4 houses and 2 small apartment buildings on our side of the street, and 5 houses and another small apartment building on the opposite side of the street. 3 houses down the street from our house was a whole family of Hells Angels, Across the street 2 houses up was Italian Mafia. NOBODY F'd with anyone or anything on our street, and the whole neighbourhood was that way. We all knew who was into what and who wasn't into anything other than living an honest life and we all had respect for each other.

My father drove a yellow cab in NYC, guys got in the cab, gave him an address in the Bronx, asked him to wait. They came back with a heavy black duffle bag and said drive. My father asked where they were going and one said "you just do what we tell you or you're not going home tonight." My father drove to the police station jumped out locking and the doors and the cops came out and found a bag full of stolen guns. The guys did DECADES. That's how you handle these guys.

I don't know how but this made me feel alot better. I just had a bad night working in customer service where I got yelled at over the phone for 15 minutes at the end of my shift for something that I didn't do after genuinely helping this lady towards the end of the night. She was unhappy that my coworker unintentionally mislead her seeing as he's new. She took it all out on me. I apologized multiple times telling her I was busy myself with another customer and wasn't aware of what all they had talked about but we would make everything right for her but she still said it was horrible service and she is returning everything. Nobody's fault here but we are people too and everybody makes a mistake.

However I do feel the need to tell you that fear is there for a reason it’s there to remind us, it’s there to help us survive, it’s an instinct that goes back to when we were living in caves. You can’t just get rid of something that’s so hard wired into us as humans. Especially since our social structure really hasn’t changed all. We’re all still people. And people as a whole haven’t really changed but rather the material items we surround ourselves with. You’re an Uber driver man you put yourself in just as much danger as a cop does when he pulls over a random pedestrian. A random person you don’t know is getting in your car and then traveling with you somewhere, often times leading you there. Your fear is rational and quite justified. I go so far to even say you’re entitled to it especially with all those bad rides😂 stay strong man people like you keep the world turning, even if it doesn’t feel like it day by day. And the best I could do was Uber eats and post mates I could never deal with the anxiety of somebody else I don’t know being in my car just got a throw that out there man it’s quite commendable what you do.

Well, Eddie...I'm commenting in this video because it appears to be the most recent one, but it refers to all. I'm from Portugal, and in one of my insomnia nights youtube suggested me uber situations (karens and bad trips and things like that) for some reason...I never used Uber, and I don't think I will (I enjoy driving too much to be driven instead)...but then I was watching all of those videos just because I didn't have anything to do but wait for the darn sleep to come. Then I crossed with one video of yours, and it's been a couple of days that I've been binging your videos ever since, mainly the confessions and conversations. I think you have a nice TH-cam segment...almost reminds me of an uber version of Justin Halpern's "Sh*t my dad says" book and its sequel. I literally see these conversations written on a book sometime (you should think on it). I actually think you may have found your calling here, talkshows in uber trips. I became very surprised on how interesting you make your trips and how interesting some of your riders are - shout out for instance to Muhammed and that new Mexico girl who you took for pretzel and "woder-ice" ;º) , which made me curious to try (unfortunately we don't have that here), and that gentleman that worked everywhere - . So...long story short...just wanted to say hi from another place in the world and give you a massive thumbs up and I'm looking for your future interesting videos and conversations. That's just the world we live in now, in the US at least. When you've got two majorities both trying to control society through fear, all that clashing together weighs down on those of us who are just trying to exist. None of us chose these tensions yet we all have to navigate them and deal with the brunt of their impact. The people who made the world we live in cared nothing about us, and the people who maintain that world apparently care even less.
This is the deal, if you are that worried about COVID, then don't take an Uber or don't drive an Uber. Simple. This is coming from someone who is immune compromised and hasn't had shots. I keep to myself and don't do the regular stuff others do, in order to keep myself safer. Those out and about using an Uber, a mask isn't gonna help you. So, I don't see the point in wearing them in the Uber, if it can cause safety concerns in other ways. That ride would have scared the crap out of me since none of it fit and had every red flag. My best friend is immune compromised and having COVID effected her in so many ways. I haven’t seen her in months because she’s been on/off sick and I miss her a ton. :( she’s still always at the hospital, has to use an inhaler now, and is exhausted all the time. Her relationship also was going very well with her man and now he’s been pushing away from her and arguing because of how sick she is, since he loves to travel and go out. I’ve known a couple of people that have had it and been fine, but seeing my friend STILL going through this after months has opened my eyes to how serious it can be.

She now has permanent vertigo. My sister got it after 2 shots and 2 boosters, but has Lupus and had to have a blood transfusion and special medicines to save her life, but now has no after effects. I'm truly sorry for what your friend is facing. Going from being a healthy 20 something to being chronically ill, is scary and sad. I'm so glad she has you as a friend. Someone who understands and can love her..even if from afar. Tomorrow I take my son to yet another specialist. A Rheumatologist to somehow make sense of yet more symptoms he can't seem to shake. At this point we just need answers and a plan, so we can treat something... anything. My daughter is immune compromised (Type 1 diabetic) and yet she has no effects after COVID. My husband is healthy and had his shots and he got a slight cold and was good. My other son who has psoriadic arthritis (kinda like RA) and asthma, has gotten it a few times (different strains), but powered through it and is doing well. You just never know who or how it will effect someone. Lots of love to you and your friend. May she find the help she needs and may her body find a way to help itself. 💗

Just shy of 9,000 trips since 2018 and I've experienced this nervous fear about 10 times. One reason is that you have a sense when your pax is transporting contraband, and what scenarios might unfold, not the least of which is grand theft auto with aggravated homicide.
I’ve been in some really weird situations as a female but thankfully never felt in total danger, I tell everyone my dashcam is WiFi enabled with a cloud automatically backing it up....it’s helped a lot even if it isn’t true

Eddie i understand, I’ve been driving Uber for years and just recently when this mask mandate shit started I definitely get more sketched out then I should with certain passengers. Fear is a good thing and always good to keep an eye out! However the mask really don’t help the situation. Reading someone’s facial expressions is important in my eyes, I hate the damn mask😂

Mask mandates are designed to protect people like you. You’re in a confined space transporting people. Every driver of every Uber I’ve taken here in DC takes the protocols very seriously. Some have barriers between the front section and back seats. Many keep their windows cracked for ventilation. All of them enforce the mask policy. I get your point about taking your passengers to venues where mask mandates and social distancing aren’t enforced. But Uber isn’t going to concern themselves with that. They’re focused on the drivers and passengers that allow them to continue delivering their service: transportation. By the way, you’re wearing a chin diaper, not a mask bro :)

As a female, I don’t feel safe being an Uber/Lyft driver. Having strangers in my car honestly feels very sketchy because there’s 100 ways it can go terribly wrong, but I respect anyone who does it for a living.💕
Then don't do it. I know a woman that did it for 7 years and was a top driver. She never had a life threatening situation.

Having grown up in a bad neighbourhood I learned early in life to always listen to your gut instinct. It's better to do that and be wrong as opposed to ignoring it and being right. If I was driving Uber or a taxi, I would have the same mindset because sadly, nowadays, we have to.
There are very few public places anymore that aren't potentially going to have some kind of criminal problem.
That's truly a sad thing to say and think that way, but that's survival instinct that we humans tend to ignore because we don't want to believe there are bad people out there and end up getting caught off guard and being bitter and full of regret for sometime afterwards, or maybe permanently. It's better to be onguard and be pleasantly wrong. I prefer that rather than the other.

The area I grew up in in Nova Scotia Canada, as far as crime and everything else that refers to dealing with idiots like this is just as comparable as areas in LA, I know this myself because I've spent lots of time in LA and the surrounding areas while working.
Yeah Canada has a pretty docile rep in other countries, but that doesn't mean we don't have just as bad of areas as other cities and countries. A perfect example is the street I lived on growing up. There were 4 houses and 2 small apartment buildings on our side of the street, and 5 houses and another small apartment building on the opposite side of the street. 3 houses down the street from our house was a whole family of Hells Angels, Across the street 2 houses up was Italian Mafia. NOBODY F'd with anyone or anything on our street, and the whole neighbourhood was that way.
We all knew who was into what and who wasn't into anything other than living an honest life and we all had respect for each other.

Because believe me, that's the road you're headed down if you keep going the way you're going. I had lots of friends in life that had the same attitude as your's. I've had to walk down the street constantly having to look behind me. Thankfully as I said I've made good decisions and got out of the path I was going towards. In fact, I did that at the same age you are now. If you keep walking around thinking you know everything about everyone and everything, you're just cheating yourself out of having a good life and eventually someone will come for you. Try not to let that happen, you have that option in life NOW before you get involved too far. Being a career criminal is the lazy and pointless choice to make. Be a better person and get yourself out of shit. It truthfully comes down to choice, and I know that out of my own experience. You can think whatever you want about me and what I've said, but you know nothing about me other than what I have told you, and that's because I had the sensibilty to keep my mouth shut and not talk all big and tough like noone can get me, cause one thing for sure, and you know this already if you're for real, and that is that life expectancy when you spend your life involved in crime and in and out of prison is a very short waste of life. Do something for yourself if not for the people you love and that love you, and change the direction you're going. You're 18 and still have a chance to do better than end up a decoration for bullets.
Look I get it. I've been in LA and Vegas, and honestly I think both cities are cess pools for crime and degredation. I don't like what either city is like, it's why I don't go to them. Get yourself out of those kinds of places while you still can. Go somewhere that has more of the kind of life you want to have, and start over man. You're still young enough that you can. Get an education. Become a trades man. Do something so that you don't have to spend you're life always watching behind your back, cause that isn't a fun way to live and you can be guaranteed that if you keep going that way, well, you've seen how many of the people you grew up that also got involved, how many are still alive. You stay in that life and the person you least expect to do you is the very person that will look you in the face as they shoot you in the head. Or maybe that's your goal, to die young and achieve absolutely nothing in life.

My father drove a yellow cab in NYC, guys got in the cab, gave him an address in the Bronx, asked him to wait. They came back with a heavy black duffle bag and said drive. My father asked where they were going and one said "you just do what we tell you or you're not going home tonight." My father drove to the police station jumped out locking and the doors and the cops came out and found a bag full of stolen guns. The guys did DECADES. That's how you handle these guys.
Ummm...they literally coukd have unlocked the doors and ran while he was summoning police, yes it'll deter them and give you a 5 second head start, but let's not act as if this is foolproof.

I don't know how but this made me feel alot better. I just had a bad night working in customer service where I got yelled at over the phone for 15 minutes at the end of my shift for something that I didn't do after genuinely helping this lady towards the end of the night. She was unhappy that my coworker unintentionally mislead her seeing as he's new. She took it all out on me. I apologized multiple times telling her I was busy myself with another customer and wasn't aware of what all they had talked about but we would make everything right for her but she still said it was horrible service and she is returning everything. Nobody's fault here but we are people too and everybody makes a mistake.
That sucks… customer service is such a beating! Stay peaceful mate!
Eddie, I feel and hear your point! However I do feel the need to tell you that fear is there for a reason it’s there to remind us, it’s there to help us survive, it’s an instinct that goes back to when we were living in caves. You can’t just get rid of something that’s so hard wired into us as humans. Especially since our social structure really hasn’t changed all. We’re all still people. And people as a whole haven’t really changed but rather the material items we surround ourselves with. You’re an Uber driver man you put yourself in just as much danger as a cop does when he pulls over a random pedestrian. A random person you don’t know is getting in your car and then traveling with you somewhere, often times leading you there. Your fear is rational and quite justified. I go so far to even say you’re entitled to it especially with all those bad rides😂 stay strong man people like you keep the world turning, even if it doesn’t feel like it day by day. And the best I could do was Uber eats and post mates I could never deal with the anxiety of somebody else I don’t know being in my car just got a throw that out there man it’s quite commendable what you do.

Well, Eddie...I'm commenting in this video because it appears to be the most recent one, but it refers to all. I'm from Portugal, and in one of my insomnia nights youtube suggested me uber situations (karens and bad trips and things like that) for some reason...I never used Uber, and I don't think I will (I enjoy driving too much to be driven instead)...but then I was watching all of those videos just because I didn't have anything to do but wait for the darn sleep to come. Then I crossed with one video of yours, and it's been a couple of days that I've been binging your videos ever since, mainly the confessions and conversations. I think you have a nice TH-cam segment...almost reminds me of an uber version of Justin Halpern's "Sh*t my dad says" book and its sequel. I literally see these conversations written on a book sometime (you should think on it). I actually think you may have found your calling here, talkshows in uber trips. I became very surprised on how interesting you make your trips and how interesting some of your riders are - shout out for instance to Muhammed and that new Mexico girl who you took for pretzel and "woder-ice" ;º) , which made me curious to try (unfortunately we don't have that here), and that gentleman that worked everywhere - .
So...long story short...just wanted to say hi from another place in the world and give you a massive thumbs up and I'm looking for your future interesting videos and conversations.

That's just the world we live in now, in the US at least. When you've got two majorities both trying to control society through fear, all that clashing together weighs down on those of us who are just trying to exist. None of us chose these tensions yet we all have to navigate them and deal with the brunt of their impact. The people who made the world we live in cared nothing about us, and the people who maintain that world apparently care even less.

This is the deal, if you are that worried about COVID, then don't take an Uber or don't drive an Uber. Simple. This is coming from someone who is immune compromised and hasn't had shots. I keep to myself and don't do the regular stuff others do, in order to keep myself safer. Those out and about using an Uber, a mask isn't gonna help you. So, I don't see the point in wearing them in the Uber, if it can cause safety concerns in other ways.
That ride would have scared the crap out of me since none of it fit and had every red flag. I hope you stay safe out there Eddie. ❤

My best friend is immune compromised and having COVID effected her in so many ways. I haven’t seen her in months because she’s been on/off sick and I miss her a ton. :( she’s still always at the hospital, has to use an inhaler now, and is exhausted all the time. Her relationship also was going very well with her man and now he’s been pushing away from her and arguing because of how sick she is, since he loves to travel and go out. I’ve known a couple of people that have had it and been fine, but seeing my friend STILL going through this after months has opened my eyes to how serious it can be.

She now has permanent vertigo. My sister got it after 2 shots and 2 boosters, but has Lupus and had to have a blood transfusion and special medicines to save her life, but now has no after effects. I'm truly sorry for what your friend is facing. Going from being a healthy 20 something to being chronically ill, is scary and sad. I'm so glad she has you as a friend. Someone who understands and can love her..even if from afar. Tomorrow I take my son to yet another specialist. A Rheumatologist to somehow make sense of yet more symptoms he can't seem to shake. At this point we just need answers and a plan, so we can treat something... anything. I wish all of us were able to fight this thing easily and life would just go back to normal 😔 It's crazy how this thing picks and chooses. My daughter is immune compromised (Type 1 diabetic) and yet she has no effects after COVID. My husband is healthy and had his shots and he got a slight cold and was good. My other son who has psoriadic arthritis (kinda like RA) and asthma, has gotten it a few times (different strains), but powered through it and is doing well. You just never know who or how it will effect someone. Lots of love to you and your friend. May she find the help she needs and may her body find a way to help itself. 💗

Just shy of 9,000 trips since 2018 and I've experienced this nervous fear about 10 times. One reason is that you have a sense when your pax is transporting contraband, and what scenarios might unfold, not the least of which is grand theft auto with aggravated homicide.

I’ve been in some really weird situations as a female but thankfully never felt in total danger, I tell everyone my dashcam is WiFi enabled with a cloud automatically backing it up....it’s helped a lot even if it isn’t true

Eddie i understand, I’ve been driving Uber for years and just recently when this mask mandate shit started I definitely get more sketched out then I should with certain passengers. Fear is a good thing and always good to keep an eye out! However the mask really don’t help the situation. Reading someone’s facial expressions is important in my eyes, I hate the damn mask😂

Mask mandates are designed to protect people like you. You’re in a confined space transporting people. Every driver of every Uber I’ve taken here in DC takes the protocols very seriously. Some have barriers between the front section and back seats. Many keep their windows cracked for ventilation. All of them enforce the mask policy. I get your point about taking your passengers to venues where mask mandates and social distancing aren’t enforced. But Uber isn’t going to concern themselves with that. They’re focused on the drivers and passengers that allow them to continue delivering their service: transportation. By the way, you’re wearing a chin diaper, not a mask bro :)
