I was sure happy to feel it turn loose there. I wonder if when I hit the crankshaft with the hammer did anything or if it just happened to break free just then. Yeah, that throttle body is locked pretty good. I have been on the search for one. If I can break that one free I will try it out, but I don't think I would depend on it for continued use.
Hello Luke, I was wondering if you were located in Eastern Kentucky by any chance. I am located just west of Lexington, Kentucky. That truck looks fairly straight considering sitting idle for a while. The engine was cranking over pretty well considering how stuck the engine was. That throttle body may be DOA though. I am really looking forward to seeing your next video to see how things progress.
@@TheIronDuke502 Thanks. Yeah, I'm from Eastern Ky. Around the Hazard area. I think I may have found another throttle body if the guy ever checks his messages lol.
@@lukeFugateGood Deal Luke. My grandmother was a Spencer and was from that area. She was buried at the Eversole Cemetery if you are familiar with that cemetery.
For real I have an 89 gmc or chevy idk but I changed the grill style from that old one with the newer 94 to 99 style and I think it has a v8 and it runs like crap im 90 percent sure that its the throttle body 11:47
Wow, i've never seen corrosion like that on a throttle body - or anything else! Glad you got the motor unstuck, but i'd say that throttle body doesn't look too promising. Good luck with getting this thing going again.
You are kidding all them old GMC trucks run forever my 99 4.3 vortec pulled it home with a chain at 235K and threw new heads two teenage boys drove the crap out of it.blew the 4l60e out sat a year now driver's all. Summer 140 miles a day,she leaks oil and cut off the cat and runs like a top at 360 k. Towed a boat from Montana to Washington. They just won't die
I love those trucks
Yeah, they are pretty cool trucks.
So kool, looking forward to the next video. 👍🏻
Thanks 👍I can't wait to hear it run.
Wow it was stuck pretty good! I’d say ones you get some parts on her she will run good! Can’t wait to see part 2!
Yeah I had some doubts at first, but I think it will run good now.
I watched the entire video Luke. It was good to see somebody free up a stuck engine again. I'm not sure about that throttle body though.

Yeah it was pretty bad. I've been looking for a throttle body to replace it. I think it will run, just needs some TLC.
Great video!
Thanks!
13:13 foreshadowing
LOL yes it was.
Evapo-rust will clean stuff like that throttle body.
Thanks! I'll pick some up. Sure worth a try.

Yeah, they are good trucks. This one will live again.
What’s with the background noise in part of the video where you’re putting the battery in? Otherwise great vid the noise was just a bit distracting
Yeah, not sure what that was. I had to go back and listen to it. Almost sounds like an animal or something.
@@lukeFugate yea I couldn’t make it out either haha. Either way nice vid and I look forward to seeing it run again
Sitting does nothing any good!
Very true. Especially with water running into the engine lol.
Boring : too much talk, very little action
Yeah, I need to work on that. I tend to ramble lol. Thanks for the input.
TH-cam slows your browser. It's not your ISP. GM sucks. I am a Fiord guy.;
GM has went downhill these days. They used to make good stuff.
