- Cool upgrade: Depth Gauge/Guide for DeWalt Oscillating Multi-Tools, fits cordless DCS353, DCS354, DCS355, DCS356 and corded DWE315.
Strangely DeWalt sells all three necessary parts separately (they should really include these with the tool anyway), here you go:
N275350 Block Assembly amzn.to/3hb6NYT
N275341 Depth Guide amzn.to/3UkOWgU
N278801 Knob amzn.to/3DQJKKR
(you can also use a machine screw with #8-36 thread instead of buying the knob but I like the knob better)
You are right, they are pricing everything separately nowadays. I'm surprised when you buy a DeWalt tool, they don't have a separate charge for the box and then another charge for the owners manual. So much for making the customer feel "value added".
great video, no idea why dewalt makes it so hard for me to give them my money for this stupid part
Yeah, at least they could offer all three items as a set. Or better: include them by default!
I just got a kit from Lowe’s 199.00 brings all that together.
Nice to see they offer a kit now!
@@CascadesHomestead I believe that it was a black Friday deal
Should of been designed with two rollers instead of one so it can be more stable for more consistent depth instead of one where it can tilt.
On a different note. The quick trigger blade change on these Dewalt multitools are a great feature compared to other ones out there. You can easily and quickly change blades or change angles in an instant.
Yeah, two rollers would be better. And yes, I love the quick tool-less blade change, on my old Bosch it took a hex-key.
@@CascadesHomestead I thought about it. And I am thinking now that the one wheel is by design so you can rock it back and forth to clear shavings when making long cuts instead of just a plung cut. You would just have to adjust it according the corner tip of the blade at a 45 degree angle which would be the deepest point.
Hey Bubba, I'll have to play with it more but there have been a few times where I was trying to do very precise cuts and two rollers would have been better. Well honestly, I should have just used a router for that, but I was too lazy and used the multi-tool instead :)
It is available as a complete kit now
Yeah! Nice to see DeWalt reacting to customer demand.
Awesome, would not have known about it.
Cool!
I know this video is a year old, but thank you regardless.
My DeWalt tool didn't come with the depth gauge, but I found a kit that has all three pieces from an online vendor.
Cool to see this being sold as a kit now!
The instructions with mine had images showing the depth guage but no text or indication as to what it was. I was wondering if I had parts missing in the box.
Just bought mine. It came with the depth gauge. Thanks for showing me how to use it!
You're welcome! Cool to see that DeWalt now offers the depth gauge as part of the package! Consider using thread locker otherwise this thing will vibrate itself loose quickly!
Chce kupić, widzę że super sprzęt.😬😬😬
Nice I didn’t know that Dewalt made adept gauge for the multitool 👍
I'd like to buy one but in Canada they're ridiculously expensive. Buying all 3 pieces separately will cost you just over $50.
Veru useful tips thanks for sharing good video by the way and they do sell as a package now the depth gage with arm and unit also £16.99 uk currency
What is the purpose of the blank spacer tab that comes glued to the back of the package
Super sprawa. Polecasz po takim czasie? Super sprzet. Fajne rady od CIEBIE. 😀
Tak, zdecydowanie często tego używam, do obróbki drewna i płyt kartonowo-gipsowych.
They sell this as a set. When I bought mine, it had the Tstak, all the blades and the depth gage.
Great to see DeWalt selling that as a set now! They didn't when I bought it but hey, better late than never!
@@CascadesHomestead I bought it 2 years ago. I am in Portugal, tho…
too bad there is not a handle attachment sold for this tool
Oh, you mean like for an angle grinder? That would be an awesome addition!
@@CascadesHomestead yes to help compensate for the vibration, giving you more control for finer cuts and just more control over all, but I still love mine.
Thanks. Bought via your links!
Thanks Alan!!
Can you do a review of dcs353 vs dcs356?
Amazon has the complete set
Write to Dewalt and tell them your tool didn’t come with the Depth Guide and they will send you one I did got mine today for free
Why don't you show it and not keep saying ' you can imagine it'? What about the dust extractor?
Clear and concise Thank you..
